Andrew Francis is a voice actor in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. His most prominent role in the series is as Shining Armor.
Francis originally recorded dialogue for Braeburn in Over a Barrel, but Michael Daingerfield was recast as Braeburn for the episode's final cut.[1][2]
Following Francis' casting as Shining Armor, he first tweeted about his new role on Twitter on December 14, 2011.[3] Francis later took the tweet down at the insistence of his agent.[4]
Outside My Little Pony, Francis has voiced characters in numerous television series and films, including Dilandau in The Vision of Escaflowne, Julian in Cybersix, Genki Sakura in Monster Rancher, teen Dende in Dragon Ball Z, MegaMan in MegaMan NT Warrior, Bobby Drake/Iceman in X-Men: Evolution, Gil in Johnny Test, Ace of the Gangreen Gang in Powerpuff Girls Z, Clint Barton/Hawkeye in Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Lance in Voltron Force, Ambrose in Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch, Max McGrath in Max Steel, Ty Rux in the Netflix original animated series Dinotrux, Cole in Ninjago (succeeding Kirby Morrow), and various supporting roles in Mummies Alive!, RoboCop: Alpha Commando, InuYasha, and the Barbie film series.
In live-action, Francis has starred in Agent Cody Banks, Final Destination 3, and Tin Man, and he had guest roles in The Twilight Zone, Smallville, Kyle XY, Supernatural, and Psych.
