Sugar Grape is a female Pegasus pony who appears in the IDW comics. She has a white coat, two-tone purple mane and tail, dark blue eyes, and a cutie mark of a bunch of grapes. She first appeared in merchandise.

Development and design[]

Sugar Grape shares her design with Rainbow Dash, Daring Do, Skywishes, Lucky Dreams, Sweetsong, Breezie, Feathermay, Periwinkle, Star Dasher, and sometimes Ploomette and Banana Bliss, she shares her mane and tail style with Holly Dash, "Doseydotes", "Ballad", Léon, and Roku-chan, she shares her mane style with Andrea, she shares her tail style with "Sunstone" and WCE Unnamed Mare - Jouster, and she resembles "Downdraft".

According to Andy Price, "random blind bags" are how Sugar Grape, Cherry Spices, and Sweetcream Scoops "got into the comic".[1]

On My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issue #1 page 17, Sugar Grape appears among the ponies freed from the changelings that had taken over Ponyville. On Friendship is Magic Issue #9 page 3, she is seen flying over the Summer Wrap-Up Festival grounds. On Friendship is Magic Issue #11 cover A, she appears in a yearbook picture. On Friendship is Magic Issue #30 page 15, she takes part in the conflict between the Apple family supporters and the Stinkin' Rich supporters.

On My Little Pony: Friends Forever Issue #8 page 11, Sugar Grape appears, with a thought bubble, watching Applejack and Rarity fly by in an aircraft.

Merchandise[]

A mini-figure toy and collector card of Sugar Grape are included in the first and twelfth waves of mystery pack toys. According to the collector cards, Sugar Grape "loves to read stories. Fairy tales are her favorite!" Sugar Grape is also included in the Toys "R" Us exclusive Friendship Celebration Collection, the packaging of which states that she and Lulu Luck "read stories at their sleepover!"
