The abuse filter was reaching the condition limit over 20% of the time so I disabled the section blanking filter to mitigate the problem. If the stats remain over 2% more filters should be disabled or optimized. –Throwy 17:36, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

I think you said you would contact Wikia before about increasing the limit; did you do that? We need more controls, not fewer. ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 21:30, August 25, 2013 (UTC)
The answer was a diplomatically worded "we can but we won't." The abuse filter slows every action done on the wiki, and we are already using it beyond its intended purpose. You could keep bugging Wikia and maybe they'll relent, but that would result in a slower wiki. –Throwy 20:35, August 29, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think me bothering them any more would be helpful :P. It doesn't slow down viewing, does it? And the slowdown isn't that noticeable, but oh well. I guess we need to be more active in adding current trends and removing obsolete entries from the filter. ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 01:03, August 30, 2013 (UTC)
Do we necessarily need the excessive caps filter? I don't really think it's large enough of an issue to warrant a filter for it. Yeah it does get triggered a lot, but are the excessive caps causing enough problems to warrant a filter for them?
I would be in favour of disabling these 5 filters, especially the last 4, as they were made as a response to a specific incident or small chain of incidents that no longer occur.  FANMADE_Animated_Derpy_Hooves_desktop_ponies_sprite.gif Sig1.png Sig2.png  14:07, August 30, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, that sounds good to me.-- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count 19:15, September 17, 2013 (UTC)Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png
Yeah, seems to make sense. If problems occur we can just re-enable them anyway. Excessive caps can just be a manually warnable thing - I'd support disabling that permanently (or increasing the threshold) because it often interferes with legitimate edits. ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 20:08, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

Also, while we're disabling all these filters, are there any new ones we might need? I'm particularly thinking of one that prevents changing any word that is followed by a [sic] tag. People's inability to read truly sickens me. ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 20:11, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

I like this idea.-- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count 21:01, November 5, 2013 (UTC)Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png
One which prevents image controllers deleting main namespace pages. – Ozuzanna 20:23, November 5, 2013 (UTC)
We had one but it wasn't working. I think I fixed it now.  FANMADE_Animated_Derpy_Hooves_desktop_ponies_sprite.gif Sig1.png Sig2.png  20:48, November 5, 2013 (UTC)
