There's some stuff wrong with the abuse filter or its autoblocks. Earlier, I was blocked due to it mistaking edit attempts of mine for common vandalism (this isn't the stuff I'm talking about; that's next). It wouldn't let me contact an administrator despite telling me to do so (even in the very notification about me not being able to!), so I was stuck being blocked for over twelve hours until Kinrah fortunately noticed the filter's mistake and unblocked me. On top of that, the permissions errors notification said to contact the abuse filter itself or to contact another administrator, with the latter option linking not to a list of admins but to a list of all users. 64.118.122.93 18:59, November 15, 2012 (UTC)

You're free to use your talk page. (unless that has been disabled whilst being blocked, albeit uncommon) -- Ozuzanna (Talk) 19:05, November 15, 2012 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure I tried to while I was blocked, and that had been disabled as well. 64.118.122.93 19:11, November 15, 2012 (UTC)
Why not just set the abuse filter to just disallow the edits. I mean seriously... There is no additional benefit of it automatically blocking the person. Yet, there are drawbacks. As seen here. ._. Guitar t-boneTalk to AJ!h30uB.gif 20:08, November 15, 2012 (UTC)
It's set to disallow the first time, then ban the second consecutive time that it's tripped. It's set that way to keep people from trying different things until they find something disruptive that won't trip the filter.  Food 25px-Surprise.png  04:39, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
(Sorry for late response) I see your point. However, in consideration of the above, we should set it to steadily increase the ban length. Don't give an immediate indefinite ban. That is harsh and just downright ridiculous. Combined with the fact that it isn't even accurate at times. Guitar t-boneTalk to AJ!h30uB.gif 18:56, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
That's something somebody else will have to handle if it's possible. I have no idea how to work the abuse filter, personally. Sorry.  Food 25px-Surprise.png  01:11, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Well a normal block wouldn't block user talk and other features, also I agree that the first block would need to be a short term thing, unless the account is a puppet account.  OC.gifForce talk CM.png 14:02, November 28, 2012 (UTC)
From my understanding, it's not possible to change the block duration of blocks dealt from the abuse filter. I could be wrong.  Food 25px-Surprise.png  17:22, November 28, 2012 (UTC)
