Book-used placeholder names

We now have book uses of some placeholder names, meaning that those names are now ineligible for placeholder naming due to being the official names of book characters. In each of these names' cases, the question is if the book character is the same character as the show character who had been given the name as a placeholder name. 76.9.87.183 07:40, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

Buttercream

There's no indication that this random extra Apple family member (extra meaning at the reunion in Friendship is Magic, part 1 but absent from the reunion in Apple Family Reunion) is supposed to be the same mare as this one of Cadance's old friends, so I think that S01E01 Unnamed Earth Mare #1 should get a new placeholder name. 76.9.87.183 07:40, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

Berry Punch

    • Page 80:
      • All of a sudden, a crazy noise started sounding from Pinkie's watch. "Gotta go, Twilight! I totally forgot about the housewarming party at Berry Punch's new place!" With that, Pinkie bounced off into the distance, singing a song. "Oh, the bestest cottage is a warm one! A cottage that is filled with frieeends! So let's warm this house and fill it up with a party that never eeeends!"

Before we get started with this one, somebody who knows how should check this Flash file from Racing is Magic to see if it uses the name Berry Punch, a different name, or no name at all (if it calls her Berry Punch, then we've narrowly avoided a huge hassle; if it doesn't call her Berry Punch, then all we've got linking her to that name are online keywords from WeLoveFine.com and unofficial uses by the crew of the show). 76.9.87.183 07:40, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

Berry Punch's asset image name is "image34.png", unfortunately, and looking through the decompiled actionscript, I don't see any mention of a name of any sort.  Food Foodbandlt  01:45, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

Good news: Series 2 of Enterplay's trading cards includes a card of her with "Berry Punch" as her official name, so we no longer need to determine whether or not this book mention is of her! 64.118.113.125 18:15, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Hoops

    • Page 91:
      • "If you're so good, Rainbow Crash, why don't you help out the rest of us?" a big stallion named Hoops shouted back. His cutie mark was three basketballs.
      • ...
      • "You asked for it!" Rainbow shot back at Hoops, and took off into a showy barrel roll. ...
      • "Just call me Commander Hurricane!" Rainbow yelled, grinning from ear to ear.

Both are three-basketball-cutie-marked big Pegasus stallions who call Rainbow Dash Rainbow Crash, so I think it's safe to treat these as the same pony now-officially named Hoops. 76.9.87.183 07:40, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

Davenport

    • Page 108:
      • "... I'll need hundreds of tiny bags of rock candy with equally tiny parachutes on them! You can talk to Mrs. Cake about the candy and to Davenport at Quills and Sofas for the parachutes. Did you know he also does custom printing?! Little-known secret for those in the know. ..." ...

All three appearances of this stallion are working at Quills and Sofas, and author G.M. Berrow retweeted this tweet, so I think it's safe to say that Davenport is this stallion's name. (7)6(four) (talk) 06:55, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, that seems pretty definitive to me. As for the protection, I forgot that anonpocalypse meant we could probably also lift the protection from several articles that previously were subject to frequent vandalism from anonymous users. That one seems to fit the description so I removed it, not sure if any others are worth unprotecting. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 06:37, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
