Discord Moderators

This forum is used to nominate new users to receiving moderator rights on our Discord Server. Please follow all instructions below when making or contributing to a nomination. Thank you.

Eligibility criteria

• Nominated users must already be in the Ponyville Residents role to show frequent activity within the chat room. Nominations made without this requirement will be removed without warning.

• Users being nominated must have a good ban history with no bans being issued within the last 6 months.

• If a user is being nominated, the user being nominated must agree to such roles before being provided with them.

• Upon retrieval of the Moderator role, all successful nominees are required to serve a probationary period of at least 3 months. The outcome of this will be decided by administrative discretion.

Conduct

To protect the forum and it's integrity, please follow these guidelines to ensure discussion is held in an appropriate manner.

• Users are welcome to use the templates {{Support}}, {{Neutral}}, {{Oppose}} and {{Comment}} to allow the individual to make their views clear.
• Please elaborate why you are leaning towards your opinion, any participation that includes "Per this user" is not acceptable.
• Any users found to be soliciting participants could be banned on the discord chat and blocked on the Wiki as well as any users who agreed to take part under these circumstances.
• This forum is not the place to settle personal disputes, please remember to respect other users and their views.

How do I nominate?

• Wherever possible, make links to the Wiki (for example, if you have a FANDOM account, please link your username).
  • If the nominated user does not have a FANDOM account, please just remove the link.
• Discussions with unanimous support may be closed early if the discussion has no input for 3 consecutive days, others that do not meet this criteria must be kept open for a minimum of 10 days. As per the Wiki Discussions Policy.

• I've Always Felt that the demotion of COD4 was a very Irrational Decision, I'f I remember correctly he's been with the MLP wikia Fandom for just over "7" Years. During those "7" years of Hard Dedicated time, effort and work contributions, all this seems to have went down the drain all because of the internal Admins inside the Wikia Discord server caused a Conflict which resulted in a outburst of anger and irrational decision making and the actions resulting the channel deletion of the following (#mane, #announcements, #mod-discussions), However these actions were impulsive out of the situations atmosphere between the conflict, I do not believe these actions justify the reason for the demotion. All I feel that should be given a second chance and Regain what has been lost. 7 Years is quite a long time and I feel that should not have happened, I feel who ever made the conflict should be held accountable for their actions. Concerning the admins that wanted and supported the demotion of COD4, I felt as If that was out of favoritism since some of them were against the Discord server even being existant in the first place. Please Rethink your decision wisely. Thankyou

Firstly, thank you Vinyl for posting this and putting me up for a nomination. Before I accept the nomination I would like to address a couple of things that you mentioned.

1. I personally do not believe that the decision made by the admins was a matter of favouritism. While I could piece together a big conspiracy theory based upon what I observed and what I have heard from others, I don't really believe that it was a favouritist decision, nor one rooted in disdain for my support of moving to Discord.
2. The fact that server members are still thinking about the decision to remove my rights is indicative that it probably wasn't as inconsequential a decision as the admins thought it was. Note that I had nothing to do with this nomination other than making sure Vinyl actually wanted to post it. Surely a point to keep in mind...

The big thing to be said though is that if I am to be considered to be a server mod then we need to look more about my capability to do so rather than a rash decision made a couple of months ago. I will always believe the decision was poorly made, but there is nothing really to reconsider. But we need to focus on why I could be a good moderator based upon my own merit, not the questionable decisions of others.

If this nomination is to be allowed by the admins, then the discussion should focus more on why I would be a good mod. I know the rules well (I wrote them), I know the server well (I helped move things over and set it up) and I know users well (I have been around since the start of the server, and for years prior). Whilst I am guilty of something that was counter to that mindset, I want to reiterate again that it was a heat of the moment thing that I am sorry for. I care deeply about the server, its members and its rules, and as a mod this would lead me to make fair and balanced decisions that keep trouble low and keep the fun high. In terms of activity, I am around more this semester as most of my work is done on my laptop, so I tend to have Discord open a lot.
