Since when does IDW comics are count as official material? Were they approved or endorsed by Hasbro?

There is no way that File:Comic_issue_62_page_2.jpg is the reason to add "Queen Celestia" to Princess Celestia article.

It could be a mistake - especially if this is the only occurence of "Queen Celestia". We don`t know if the comic is official. Does anyone can draw a Celestia and call her for example "Księżniczka słońca" and that would mean her offical name? Teyandee 19:39, May 18, 2018 (UTC)

Since 2012? They've always been licensed by Hasbro, for more than half a decade now.

There was also early development.

There's since been File:Comic issue 65 page 1.jpg. We do know that the comics are official: File:Comic issue 62 credits page.jpg, File:Comic issue 65 credits page.jpg, etc. Anything from Hasbro (Hasbro-made or Hasbro-licensed) is official. (7)6(four) (talk) 20:37, May 18, 2018 (UTC)

Basically until the show says something contradictory, anything that's in the comics is considered canon and official so far as I'm aware. The situation in particular that you describe could have a number of explanations:

It could be an error, as you say, but it seems to have been accepted by the folks who check for that.
Maybe it's a slice of world-building, showing that other creature nations refer to Celestia as Queen despite her being titled as Princess in Equestria.
It could be a case of semantics; Celestia has always functioned as a queen when you get right down to it, it's just that Hasbro called her a princess because they think little girls think all queens are evil.

Contradicted portions are still official and remain eligible for wiki coverage; after all, the wiki even covers official material that's actually been stated to be non-canon (see also Forum:Certain individuals' insistence on the canonicity of Christmas in Equestria).
