Meghan McCarthy at New York ComicCon 2012 My Little Pony panel. McCarthy says she described Chrysalis as a "black pegacorn with a gnarled horn" in the script, then she says pegacorns are now alicorns, but it seems like she's joking to me. Even if she was serious, the show still takes precendent over production material, and neither "pegacorn" nor "alicorn" are ever used. So, "pegacorn" appears in official material, but the preferred terms are still "unicorn" (show), "Princess Pony" (toys), or "Pegasus unicorn" (promotional material). –PonyNews 14:14, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

interesting judging that Cadence said Chrysalis was a changeling, and therefore a race alien to ponies or distantly related. Perhaps it was a mistake from her part or perhaps the character's backgrounds involves in Chrysalis being a pony queen that got misled, who knows.  OC.gifForce talk CM.png 00:14, October 13, 2012 (UTC)
McCarthy was only describing how Chrysalis looks, and she does look like a pegacorn. –Throwy 06:43, October 13, 2012 (UTC)
