Album-only songs

What do you think? Should we have categories like this: Category:Songs of Friendship and Magic songs to put on songs that are in the Songs of Friendship and Magic album? --He's the ANGRY VIDEO GAME NERD!!! (talkedits) 02:15, October 31, 2015 (UTC)

That seems a bit circular and self-defining. Maybe instead a category called "Non-Show Official Songs" to specify songs from albums that were never used in the show but are album-only bonuses (like Dance Magic on the Friendship Games OST).

Come on. It's a great idea. We do need some thing categorized. --Your trusty assistant, Spike (talkedits) 14:27, October 31, 2015 (UTC)
I'd call it "Album-only songs". ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 05:16, November 1, 2015 (UTC)
I think the "Album" column on Songs, combined with the album pages, is sufficient. You don't really need categories to say that a song was included on an album. ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 05:16, November 1, 2015 (UTC)
So you're disagreeing with me? --Your trusty assistant, Spike Helping the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Wiki since April 20, 2013 03:17, November 7, 2015 (UTC)
Okay, so maybe I should accept Category:Album-only songs. Thanks... --Your trusty assistant, Spike Helping the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Wiki since April 20, 2013 17:48, November 8, 2015 (UTC)

Awards

I have noticed a lot of episodes have been nominated for Awards. I was thinking we should add that as a category.Whitehorse24 (talk) 02:49, January 26, 2016 (UTC)Whitehorse24

Not a bad idea IMO.   343TheGuiltyProphet

How would we word it? Should it just be Category:Awards so it can include everything or should we have it by episode, song, etc.? FANMADE Pinkie portal front by blackgryph0n-d3f93p8Lord of Shadows Words mean nothing!FANMADE Pinkie portal back by blackgryph0n-d3f93p8 04:33, February 12, 2016 (UTC)
This only covers episodes nominated for awards. What about those that actually won awards? And what about the recipients of those awards? Example: Charlotte Fullerton was nominated for a 2012 Daytime Emmy Award in "Outstanding Original Song - Children's and Animation" for Becoming Popular (The Pony Everypony Should Know). Should Charlotte Fullerton (the recipient), Becoming Popular (The Pony Everypony Should Know) (the nominated song), and Sweet and Elite (the episode that contains the nominated song) all be added to the category? furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 03:11, February 19, 2016 (UTC)
Maybe something like Category:Nominated for an award and Category:Won an award? As for the recipients and such, I think that the recipient and what was nominated/awarded should only count. As in your example, only Charlotte and Becoming Popular would be in the categories, since the actual episode wasn't what was nominated. How about the more general "Category:Recognized for awards" to include both? furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 02:52, February 28, 2016 (UTC)
That sounds Perfect!Whitehorse24 (talk) 02:54, February 28, 2016 (UTC)Whitehorse24
It could work. I only made two because the distinction is pretty big and Nominated could be a sub of won. FANMADE Pinkie portal front by blackgryph0n-d3f93p8Lord of Shadows Words mean nothing!FANMADE Pinkie portal back by blackgryph0n-d3f93p8 03:53, February 28, 2016 (UTC)

Characters by occupation

Suggest something more specific than "Officials", e.g. "Government officials". ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 23:52, March 3, 2016 (UTC)
Hmm... As much as I'd like to, I'm afraid that would limit the number of applicable pages. For example, I think only Mayor Mare and Sheriff Silverstar would be "government officials" (or "elected officials"); Kibitz, the Saddle Arabia delegates, and Spoiled Rich would be "appointed officials; and Lady Justice would be a "legal official".
Plus, the level at which some of these characters are officials isn't completely clear; Cherry Jubilee, Fancy Pants, and Fleur Dis Lee are only official (at least to my knowledge) due to their inclusion in the Equestria Games private seating box. If that calls their category eligibility into question, then I guess it's a non-issue. Nevertheless, others such as Dainty Dove and Tall Order are only officials due to their labeling as such in Flash file names; what exactly they're officials of is unclear.
If there's too much of a gray area, I'll retract my proposal. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 19:58, March 4, 2016 (UTC)

"Category:Performers" to include: Claude, Method Mares, Ponyacci, Sunny Daze and Peachy Pie, Trixie, Category:Musicians, Category:Rodeo clowns, Category:The Wonderbolts, the above-proposed "Category:Dancers", and possibly Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle (The Show Stoppers, For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils, Equestria Games). furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 02:01, June 8, 2016 (UTC)

(7)6(four) (talk) 04:49, August 25, 2018 (UTC)
I feel like if we're going to include anyone who has only written a section of the Journal of Friendship, it should be something like Pseudo-Authors for those characters, since it wasn't originally supposed to be a book. Also, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle would also be included for Ponyville Confidential. Simaltanious[sic] Arcs

There have been some episode that place at the same time during other episodes, and after finding out that one of takes place during an Equestria girls movie, ?I think we should add this as a category21:09, March 3, 2016 (UTC)Whitehorse24

*Simultaneous
Also, given My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issue #11 page 21 panel 5, at least some part(s) of Zen and the Art of Gazebo Repair and Neigh Anything would count too. (7)6(four) (talk) 21:40, March 3, 2016 (UTC)
That doesn't really work as a category. Isn't it already included on fictional chronology? ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 23:52, March 3, 2016 (UTC)
Come to think of it, adding a parameter to episode/comic/film(/etc.) infoboxes could work; how about that? (7)6(four) (talk) 02:56, May 25, 2017 (UTC)
Such a parameter would be used pretty infrequently for it to be practical. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 21:24, May 25, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I think such details are best suited for the lead section or further down the page. ~Bobogoobo (talk) Lyra_speaks_S2E25.png 00:54, May 26, 2017 (UTC)

Character Overview gallery

I like the overview galleries because we get to see characters in different forms and outfit. The only problem is they're mixed in with the he characters "regular" gallery pages. We should make a separate overview gallery category.Whitehorse24 (talk) 19:20, March 16, 2016 (UTC)Whitehorse24

Siblings

Here is a category idea:

"Category: Siblings" to include characters with at least one brother or sister such as Applejack, Big McIntosh, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Pinkie Pie, Sweetie Belle, etc. But I'm not sure whether Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo would count. Bl00lust (talk) 11:46, February 9, 2018 (UTC)

If this is made, they wouldn't. GoldenLine (talk) 22:54, June 20, 2018 (UTC)
A larger list of characters that could be included: Twilght Sparkle and Shining Armor, Zephyr Breeze and Fluttershy, the Pie sisters, Rarity and Sweetie Belle, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, the three Apple siblings, Thorax and Pharynx, Tirek and Scorpan, Babs Seed and Sunflower, the Cake Twins, Terramar and Silverstream, Rumble and Thunderlane, Smolder and Garble, Ocellus, Timber Spruce and Gloriosa Daisy, and the human counterparts of applicable characters. --Bl00lust (talk) 01:05, January 3, 2020 (UTC)

Married characters

"Category: Married characters", for characters who are married, such as Mr. and Mrs. Cake, Mr and Mrs. Shy, Shining Armor and Princess Cadance, Cranky Doodle Donkey and Matilda, Big McIntosh and Sugar Belle, Jet Set and Upper Crust, Igneous Rock Pie and Cloudy Quartz, Bright Mac and Pear Butter, Twilight Velvet and Night Light, Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood, Lyra Heartstrings and Sweetie Drops, Spoiled Rich and Filthy Rich, Hondo Flanks and Cookie Crumbles, the Paleo family, and Aunt and Uncle Orange. There are of course, other characters in more ambiguous situations like Scootaloo's aunts, the Hooffields and McColts, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich, Peewee, Coriander Cumin, Grand Pear, Granny Smith, Mr. Stripes, Queen Novo, or Smokey's family. It could also overlap too much with "Category: Parents". --Bl00lust (talk) 01:38, March 14, 2020 (UTC)
