Forums: Index > Wiki discussion > Old-policy placeholder names duplicating toy names

Would've put this on Forum:ShowToyComparison, but it's about placeholder names rather than official names. Under the obsolete placeholder name policy, three ponies were given placeholder names that are the same as or similar to official names of toys:

As I understand it, new placeholder names aren't allowed to duplicate toy names; in my opinion, this rule should apply to old placeholder names as well. 64.118.123.130 16:13, May 12, 2012 (UTC)

You're right, and this was overlooked. If these three ponies are the only ones affected, the most sensible thing would probably be to create placeholder name polls in the near future. So ideally the issue will resolve itself five days later without having to temporarily bump them into unnamed status. --Tulipclaymore 16:20, May 12, 2012 (UTC)
I'll be creating polls for the first two later today. Please do a comparison for the third one. --Tulipclaymore 17:35, May 13, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, I somehow didn't see this until now (I'll get working on that comparison). Oh, and here's a toy duplicate I missed:
  • "Sugar Grape"—compared to Sugar Grape, the coat and mane colors are switched and the eye colors are opposites. Probably different enough to go straight to a poll without a formal comparison.

Okay, now I've added the Starbeam Twinkle comparison to Forum:ShowToyComparison (along with a few other entries that I'd been meaning to add). 10.8.56.52 18:39, May 16, 2012 (UTC)
