Return to Sonic Rainboom

Internet culture reference

  • After the stage-manager yells Look, I don't care who it is, but somepony's gotta go on! one of the contestants yells: "Let's DO THIS!" and charges away. While unlikely, it might be a reference to Leeroy Jenkins, a famous World of Warcraft player.

Perhaps unlikely indeed, but I would say that behavior exhibited by Rainbow Dash in the episodes Power Ponies and Daring Don't were definitely inspired by the infamous Leeroy Jenkins and the resulting meme. Herculine (talk) 06:11, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

As rainbows represent the seven primary colors from which all other colors are derived, Rainbow Dash's very first execution of the Sonic Rainboom is a critical and symbolic event in Equestrian history which allowed her and the rest of the mane six to acquire their cutie marks. --Arisaka 07:52, January 8, 2012 (UTC)

How fast?

Once, I heard that, though RD supposedly traveled at the speed of sound, some concluded that her max speed was 50.4 mach. In contrast, a speed of about 20 mach (correct me if I'm wrong) is required to escape the gravitational pull of Earth and possibly Equestria. I find this a little absurd, how fast do you think she flies? The sky's not the limit, but our point of view.

I don't know the math, but i've been told her speed can be calculated by measuring the angle of the mach cone produced when she goes past the speed of sound...i can't remember the exact number mentioned though... --Tigro Spottystripes (talk) 03:42, December 26, 2012 (UTC)
