  • First time Spike is clearly heard singing.

The Crystal Empire - Part 2[]

  • This is the first episode of the series in which a major antagonist is actually "destroyed" as opposed to being chased off or imprisoned.
    • Although there are theories regarding Nightmare Moon as a manifestation of Luna's dark side, and that Chrysalis fell to her doom (unless you view the comics as canon), but Sombra is the first official time. Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 21:09, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
  • It's the first episode when Spike helps defeat a villain and saves Equestria. --Mega Sean 45 (talk) 23:11, November 7, 2013 (UTC)

  • Although it is a reprise of "The Failure Song" from the premiere's first part, this is the third episode to end with a song after "A Friend in Deed" (Cranky Doodle Joy) and "A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2" (Love is in Bloom). Second overall after Part 2 of season two's finale. --Prince Goldstreak (talk) 12:23, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
  • This is the second (and, so far, final) time a villain is directly defeated by Princess Cadance instead of Twilight Sparkle. (first being Sombra's predecessor, Queen Chrysalis) Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 06:50, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

    • AHEM?   15:36, November 11, 2015 (UTC)

Magic Duel[]

  • Second appearance of Trixie. (Although she is mentioned in Ponyville Confidential)
    • And she was seen in greater numbers in Bridle Gossip. 213.154.11.25 06:13, December 7, 2012 (UTC)
      • Those were just lazy animation dupes, so they don't count. Meester Tweester (talk) 09:29, January 28, 2013 (UTC)
  • This is the second episode where blood is shown, when Rarity pricks her hoof while sewing for Trixie.
  • First time the word "alicorn" is used in the show
  • Strangely Trixie claims she does not trust wheels, even though she did use them on her traveling wagon in Boast Busters, though it could just be her corruption from the alicorn amulet talking.
  • The first time an antagonist was changed to good. Meester Tweester (talk) 18:07, January 20, 2013 (UTC)
    • Unless you count Nightmare Moon (Friendship is Magic Part 2), but some think she is a manifestation of Luna's dark side. Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 08:13, January 28, 2013 (UTC)
      • Hey, I forgot about Luna! Maybe because it was so long ago. This might need further debating. Thanks Ghost Kaiba!Meester Tweester (talk) 09:27, January 28, 2013 (UTC)
      • Luna definitely does count since it was confirmed she and Nightmare Moon are one and the same. KillRoy231 (talk) 09:02, November 11, 2015 (UTC)

  • The first episode Pumpkin Cake appears without her brother. --Mega Sean 45 (talk) 01:16, November 8, 2013 (UTC)
  • When Applejack, Rarity, Big Macintosh (dressed as Applejack), Granny Smith (also Applejack), and baby Applejack and Rarity are doing a magic trick near the end of the episode, baby Applejack and baby Rarity might be Pound and Pumpkin Cake. If this is true, Pumpkin Cake does not appear without her brother. Also, for an unknown reason, Granny Smith should've been painted to look like Rarity.
    • That was Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. --Mega Sean 45 (talk) 16:02, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
  • The second appearance of the Pie family farm after The Cutie Mark Chronicles (even though both times, it only appears outta a flashback). --Mega Sean 45 (talk) 14:56, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

    • It is the first CMC episode to center mainly on Scootaloo. --Kinrah (talk) 22:50, December 8, 2012 (UTC)
      • Scootaloo seemed to be the main CMC in The Show Stoppers, even though it didn't really focus on her, most of these CMC episodes has one CMC that gives the most dialogue and the most ideas. --Mega Sean 45 (talk) 04:14, July 5, 2014 (UTC)

    • First time with a major antagonist who first appeared in a two-part episode. (Not counting Luna who wasn't always evil and Nightmare Moon is considered by some as an embodiment of her dark side) Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 05:18, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
  • Third time the phrase "wide, wide world of Equestria", or a variant thereof, is spoken; this episode, it was Rarity. The first and second time was in "Feeling Pinkie Keen" and "Too Many Pinkie Pies" both by Twilight Sparkle. Prince Silversaddle (talk) 17:25, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

      • Permanently? Rarity's wings, from "Sonic Rainboom", were only temporary. Prince Silversaddle (talk) 15:59, March 19, 2014 (UTC)
      • Which is why this episode is the first time a pony's kind is changed permanently, as opposed to temporarily. (Temporarily is also done in The Return of Harmony Part 1) Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 06:50, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
