Have You Seen This Dragon? is the eighth episode of My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, the eighth episode of the series' Chapter 2, and the eighth episode overall.

In this episode, Sparky Sparkeroni goes missing, and Hitch Trailblazer is desperate to find him A.S.A.P.P. - as soon as pony-possible.

Summary

Missing dragon alert!

At the Maretime Bay sheriff's station, Hitch Trailblazer awakens to a flash of green light and the sound of Sparky Sparkeroni breathing fire. Once he is fully awake, however, Sparky is nowhere to be found. Hitch goes to the Crystal Brighthouse to inform his friends of Sparky's disappearance, and Zipp Storm points out the bizarre timing between this and the recent disappearance of Sunny Starscout's lantern.

The Mane 5 are unable to find Sparky anywhere in the Brighthouse, and Zipp asks Hitch about the last thing he remembers when he woke up; he mentions the flash of green light. As Hitch starts to feel like he failed as a father figure, his friends cheer him up and offer to help him search all of Sparky's favorite places around Maretime Bay. Unbeknownst to the ponies, Misty has taken Sparky and is hiding him in the Brighthouse basement until she can deliver him to Opaline.

The Mane 5 split up around the city in their search for Sparky: Zipp and Pipp Petals look inside the Mane Melody salon, Sunny and Izzy Moonbow search the community garden, and Hitch check the sheriff's station again, but to no avail. Meanwhile, Misty is unable to get Sparky to sit still due to his usual mischievous nature.

To catch a dragon-napper

Zipp deduces that Sparky never goes anywhere without his treasured baby blanket and comes to the conclusion that he has been abducted against his will. The Mane 5 double their efforts to find Sparky: Zipp searches from the Maretime Bay sky with her detective equipment, Sunny and Izzy conduct their search from the ground, Pipp puts out an alert to her followers via social media, and Hitch recruits the help of his animal deputies to put up "Missing Dragon" posters.

Unfortunately, their efforts prove self-sabotaging: when Izzy assembles a large device made of musical instruments, the attention she draws from spectators draws attention away from Pipp's social media post, and it disrupts Sunny and Zipp's efforts. Unsatisfied with the results of their search, Hitch gets desperate and adopts a masked, gruff-speaking vigilante persona to find Sparky and his abductor.

Meanwhile, in the Brighthouse basement, Sparky sets up multiple booby traps to prank Misty, including swinging paint cans, lasers, and silly string dispensers. After some difficulty getting past the traps, Misty finally grabs hold of Sparky and is ready to deliver him to Opaline. However, having grown to like Sparky over the course of this misadventure, Misty promises to bring him back home after she gets her cutie mark.

Operation Glitterbomb

As Sunny, Izzy, Zipp, and Pipp continue getting in each other's way in their search for Sparky, Hitch appears in his masked vigilante persona, and he has even recruited Zephyr Heights royal guards Zoom Zephyrwing and Thunder Flap to be his sidekicks. As this persona, Hitch goes out of control trying to find Sparky, knocking things over and accosting ponies in the street.

Realizing how disorganized she and her friends have been in their struggles to locate Sparky, Sunny rallies them together for a more coordinated effort. Hitch ceases from his desperation-fueled rampage and remembers that Sparky enjoys music, giving Pipp an idea on how to find him. As Misty brings Sparky out of the Brighthouse basement, they hear Pipp and her friends singing a lullaby-like song.

Sparky reacts positively to the song and starts singing along, which the Mane 5 hear coming from the Brighthouse. Misty tries to keep Sparky from hearing the singing, but Sparky is determined to follow it to its source. When Misty is unable to stop Sparky or keep him hidden any longer, she settles for capturing some of his dragonfire in a jar. The Mane 5, especially Hitch, are overjoyed to be reunited with Sparky, and Misty manages to avoid detection.

A dark new chapter begins

With Sparky Sparkeroni safe and sound, the Mane 5 end the day by watching the sun set together. Izzy appears with a broken-down, retired tram car and shares with the others her plans to fix it up so that they can use it to quickly get around Maretime Bay.

Misty returns to Opaline and presents her with the jarred dragonfire; Opaline absorbs its magic and transforms into a more powerful form of Alicorn than before. However, her power is still very limited, and she demands more dragonfire to increase her strength. When Misty reminds Opaline of her promise to give her a cutie mark, Opaline angrily berates Misty for her perceived uselessness and refuses to fulfill any promise until she delivers Sparky as commanded. Misty crawls away to her quarters in tears.
