Iris Quinn is a film/television actress and singer in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. In My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games, she provides the voice of Principal Cinch.
During her initial involvement in Friendship Games, Quinn did two auditions for Cinch: one for her speaking voice and one for her singing voice.[1] Quinn based Cinch's voice on one of her elementary school teachers and Julia Child.[2] Throughout the entire recording process, Quinn did not even know what the character she was playing looked like.[3]
Outside My Little Pony, Quinn has provided voices for characters in several animated series and specials, including Action Man, Master Keaton, The Cramp Twins, and Red Riding Hood: The Tale Begins.
In live-action, Quinn has starred and had guest roles in numerous television series and films, including The X-Files, Dead Man's Gun, The Sentinel, Cold Squad, So Weird, John Doe, Life as We Know It, Slither, The 4400, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Possession, Supernatural, and The Magic Stocking.
Quinn is also a Vancouver-based voice acting coach; Michelle Creber is one of her students. She is the aunt of fellow voice actress Saffron Henderson, who voices the Daring Do Collector in Trade Ya! Quinn also has background in theater and radio, and she has self-published a cookbook titled Salivation.
