My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined – Little Fillies #1 is the first issue of IDW Publishing's My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined - Little Fillies comic miniseries, adapting the 1868 Louisa May Alcott novel Little Women. In this issue, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Rarity appear as the March sisters, who dream of life beyond their home of Broncord, Massahoofetts, particularly Rainbow Dash.

In this reimagining of Equestria, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Rarity are sisters of the impoverished March family living in Broncord, Massahoofetts: tomboyish Jo (portrayed by Rainbow), magic student Meg (portrayed by Twilight), shy Beth (portrayed by Fluttershy), and fashion-conscious Amy (portrayed by Rarity).
The sisters and their mother (portrayed by Pinkie Pie) face their first Hearth's Warming without their father (portrayed by Cheese Sandwich), who is serving as a soldier in a war between Caninia and Abyssinia. Jo is a writer who publishes adventure stories inspired by the writings of Daring Do author A.K. Yearling, but her stories are more or less copies of Yearling's works, and she longs to have her own adventures outside her boring Broncord home.
At a New Year's Eve party hosted by Meg's friend and fellow magic student Sallie Gardiner (portrayed by Starlight Glimmer), Jo meets Theodora "Laurie" Laurence (portrayed by Applejack), whose family lives next door to the Marches. Laurie tells Jo that she has been away traveling around Equestria for her school studies, and Jo is envious of the many adventures Laurie had. She is inspired by Laurie to give her stories more originality instead of simply copying those of A.K. Yearling.
After the party, Jo and Laurie wish each other a happy New Year and look forward to talking more before retiring to their respective homes. That night, Jo regales her sisters with the new stories Laurie inspired her to come up with.
