Liza Koshy is an American actress, television host, comedian, and YouTuber. She provides the voice of Zipp Storm in the Netflix animated film My Little Pony: A New Generation.
Koshy's involvement in the film was first announced on June 30, 2021.[1] Friends in real life with fellow cast member Kimiko Glenn, neither knew about the other's involvement until about a year into the film's production;[2] Koshy recorded her lines in Houston, and Glenn recorded her lines in Los Angeles.[3] Koshy was encouraged by Glenn to ad-lib while in the recording booth.[4]
Outside My Little Pony, Koshy is best known for being a content creator on Vine and YouTube. In 2017, she became "the fastest YouTube personality to reach 10 million subscribers".[5]
In television, Koshy starred in the Hulu original series Freakish and the YouTube Premium reality series Escape the Night. From 2017 to 2018, she served as a co-host on MTV's Total Request Live. In 2018, she co-created, co-produced, and starred in the comedy web series Liza on Demand, which Glenn also starred in. From 2018 to 2019, she hosted the revival of the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare. In 2020, she hosted the Quibi dance competition show Floored.
In other films, Koshy starred in the 2016 comedy film FML, the Tyler Perry comedy horror film Boo! A Madea Halloween, the 2020 musical film Work It, and the 2023 DreamWorks animated film Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken.
