My Little Pony: Make Your Mark (series)

My Little Pony: Make Your Mark is an animated series based on the film My Little Pony: A New Generation. It premiered on Netflix on September 26, 2022.^[1] It is a direct follow-up to the special of the same name, featuring the same 3D CGI animation style as the special and film.

Development and production[]

Make Your Mark was announced via Business Wire on February 17, 2022.^[1]

The series trailer was uploaded privately to the Netflix After School YouTube channel on September 8, 2022 and made public on September 12.^[2] A 30-second version of the trailer was uploaded to the My Little Pony Official YouTube channel on September 12.^[3]

A 90-second clip of the series featuring the song All You Need is Your Beat was uploaded to the Netflix After School YouTube channel on September 18, 2022.^[4] An 8-minute clip compilation was uploaded to the My Little Pony Official YouTube channel on September 23.^[5]

On May 27, 2024, Matthieu Meunier, the French voice actor for Hitch Trailblazer, stated during a BELVA (Belgian Voice Artists) presentation that he was told by someone alleging to be a representative of Hasbro that additional episodes for Make Your Mark were planned, but Hasbro pushed for the use of AI-generated voices for the series' international versions to save on international production costs, causing Make Your Mark executive producer Cort Lane to cease production on the series.^[6] However, this later turned out to be false, and Hasbro stated on Twitter on May 31 that "The #MyLittlePony ‘Make Your Mark’ series has never used AI-generated audio or visuals at any stage of its production."^[7]

On August 19, 2021, Thunderbird Entertainment announced via corporate presentation that four 44-minute specials and twenty-three 22-minute episodes of My Little Pony were in production.^[12] On February 17, 2022, the first eight of the twenty-three episodes were announced with the series' title - My Little Pony: Make Your Mark - and released on Netflix on September 26, 2022.^[13] This batch of eight episodes was later given the collective designation My Little Pony: Make Your Mark: Chapter 2.^[14] On May 16, 2023, the next batch of six episodes were announced to release on Netflix on June 6 with the designation My Little Pony: Make Your Mark: Chapter 4.^[15] On June 15, 2023, the next batch of six episodes were announced to release on September 18 as Make Your Mark: Chapter 5, and the final batch of three episodes were announced to release on November 23 as Make Your Mark: Chapter 6.^[16]
