My Little Pony #16 is the sixteenth issue of IDW Publishing's My Little Pony comic series, based on the Generation 5 film My Little Pony: A New Generation. In this issue, Pipp Petals deals with the stress of an upcoming concert as well as a new musician trying to steal her spotlight, and Zipp Storm contends with organizing a royal Zephyr Heights dinner, causing a rift between them that a magical creature decides to take advantage of.

The issue begins in Zephyr Heights in the early morning; Pipp Petals is looking forward to her upcoming concert and gets greeted by her adoring fans, the Pippsqueaks. Zipp Storm, however, is dreading the upcoming annual royal dinner, which her mother Queen Haven has tasked her with hosting and planning and is expecting her to succeed.
As Zipp gets overwhelmed by all the extensive dinner preparations, Pipp rehearses with Sunny Starscout and Izzy Moonbow for her concert; she expects Zipp to appear and oversee the rehearsal, but she never shows up. To make matters worse for Pipp, up-and-coming Pegasus musician Carotang is attempting to muscle in on her musical territory, covering all of her promotional concert posters with his own.
Later that day, Pipp meets with Zipp to vent about her concert-related frustrations. Zipp realizes she forgot about Pipp's rehearsal and apologizes, and she starts to vent about her own anxiety over the royal dinner. The two start to argue over which of their respective duties is more difficult than the other, and Pipp soon storms out in a rage.
As Pipp goes for a fly in the clouds over Zephyr Heights and loudly vents her anger toward Zipp, a magical wishing well appears before her, and out pops a nymph named Milkyway. She explains she appears before those in need of a wish; while Pipp claims to not really have a wish, she explains what is going between her and Zipp and expresses a desire for Zipp to respect what she does as a performer. As the sun starts to set, Pipp bids farewell to Milkyway, and Milkyway wishes Pipp good luck, cryptically adding that "she and her sister will both need it" before disappearing.
The next morning, Pipp and Zipp discover a number of strange anomalies: they have woken up in each other's beds, Zipp is now the one expected to put on a concert, Pipp is now expected to host the royal dinner, and the Pippsqueaks are now the "Zippsqueaks". When Zipp sees their reflections in a mirror, she realizes her and Pipp's cutie marks have switched.

- Carotang: Not all of us were born in the spotlight, Pipp. You got a leg up. But the rest of us who aren't part of the royal family... we need to hustle and find every opportunity we can to get our music out there.

- Pipp Petals: You've lost yourself a very influential subscriber today, Carotang.
- Zipp Storm: You would never have the patience to undergo royal training.

- Milkyway: I am the one and only, legendary wishing well nymph, Milkyway! You can bow if you'd like. It isn't necessary. But it is welcome.
- Pipp Petals: I know I make it all seem so easy, but it isn't. I'm stressed all the time. And I want her to get that and try to respect what I do as a performer.
- Milkyway: Good luck tomorrow! You and your sister will both need it.
- Peach Fizz: Zipp, Zipp! Can you sign my poster?
