My Little Pony #8, titled The Dreamy Creamy Peanut Butter Starbow in trade paperback, is the eighth issue of IDW Publishing's My Little Pony comic series, based on the Generation 5 film My Little Pony: A New Generation. In this issue, Izzy Moonbow recalls the early days of when magic returned to Equestria and how she used her magic to try and improve the life of her new best friend Sunny Starscout.
Summary[]
The issue begins immediately following the end of a pie festival in Maretime Bay; while Izzy Moonbow is pleased to see the three pony races come together, she is still worried about the looming threat of Discord destroying the Pegasus Unity Crystal. To get her mind off of it, Sunny Starscout suggests they make smoothies, particularly a smoothie recipe they came up with together, causing Izzy to think back to the day they first came up with it.
The story then flashes back to shortly after Sunny and her friends brought magic back to Equestria. Since receiving her Alicorn powers, Sunny was getting more attention from ponies and going flying with Pegasi, causing the flightless Izzy to feel left out and forgotten. When she overhears some ponies desiring Sunny's smoothies, Izzy gets the idea to give Sunny's smoothie cart an elaborate makeover and sell "unicorn smoothies" around town.
When Sunny returns from flying, she sees that Izzy's smoothies are a huge success, but the surprise makeover to her cart and changes to her recipes are a lot for her to process. Izzy explains that she has not spent much time with Sunny since magic returned and wanted to do something special for her. Sunny apologizes for causing Izzy to feel left out and likes the matching aprons Izzy made for them.
After selling the rest of Izzy's smoothies, Sunny and Izzy return to the Crystal Brighthouse and invent a new smoothie recipe together that Sunny calls the "Dreamy Creamy Peanut Butter Starbow". The flashback ends, and Sunny expresses that she and her friends may be different, but when they come together, they can do anything. However, Izzy inwardly wonders if their friendship can truly survive this ongoing conflict with Discord.
