Welcome to My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Wiki! The Community Portal is where this wiki community comes together to organize and discuss projects for the wiki.
Please read the contribution guidelines before contributing. Two guidelines to mind in particular:
- Avoid using fan-art to represent actual show information. Please only use official Hasbro material or frames from the show.
- Avoid describing fictional events from an in-universe perspective. Please describe the show from the point of view of the viewer. When summarizing episodes, please refer to How to write a plot summary. .
Tasks
All users may partake in the following tasks:
- Add and edit articles in the revisions category page
Simply try to change however you can in the pages that need it the most. It does not necessarily mean it possess any obvious error, but rather that it is too lacking in detail or is too inconsistent. This is different from pages marked for deletion.
You may add a page to the given category by placing{{improve|<Reason why the article should be improved (optional)>}}at the top part of the page.
- Request for pages as featured articles
If you happen to cross paths with an article that just screams "I should be an article model in Vogue Magazine!", then send your requests in the page linked above. Make sure to check the featured articles category page to make sure you will not request an article for the second time.
It should be noted that article requests that have too much opposition may not be requested again after a month's time. There's a difference between unaccepted requests and opposed requests as unaccepted requests are simply requests that the Administrator did not bother to comment on and was not featured, even with a lot of agreement from regular users, and opposed requests are articles that are openly agreed by most people that it is truly not something worth to show in front of the wiki page.
- Make common terms of another article redirect to the main one
If you've experience a time similar to that when you type Lyra on the search field, yet it sends you to a blank page, but you know that information about Lyra is located somewhere in the wiki, then this task should be done ASAP! Simply click the "edit" or "add" on the current blank page, type#REDIRECT [[<name of article>]]and click preview. As you preview it, it should say something around "Redirects to <page>". If that appears, click save.
Please remember that article names are case sensitive. "Rainbow Dash" and "Rainbow dash" are two different articles.
- Fix Double Redirects
Now that you've added a redirect to a page, sometimes, just sometimes, it sends you to another redirect page. That should never be the case. Fixing this is simple, edit the initial page that somehow sent you to another redirect page, and let it redirect to the final destination.
- Check the recent changes page
The best way to ensure that you will most of the time correct any new edits and vandalism is to check the Recent Changes page and refresh it every couple of minutes. Just a heads-up. Please do try to prohibit yourselves from undo-ing changes in User pages by the own user. This should only be done if there is a significant conversation in his talk page that needs to be discussed fully.
- Fix Orphaned Pages
Orphaned pages are articles of the wiki that have not been linked to, which means a lesser chance of getting any recognition. The best way to get a proper link to an article that is orphaned is to find the more prominent sub-topic of the article, and use that as a link.
- Fix Dead end Pages
Pages that do not give any links to another article is a dead end page. There is an exception with Character/Gallery pages.
- Improve images
Some images will always look distorted, pixelated, and of low quality, and some are fan-made, which should be replaced as soon as possible even with permission. Please make sure that whatever image you're uploading has either the permission of the source or the source stated to the submitter that the image he or she made is official from the show, not some fan art doodad.

- Create missing category pages
Check the list of missing categories, and check whether the articles in the category are in the right place. If not, update the category links on the article(s) in question. If they are, then add a category page, ensuring that you categorize it so it shows up in the right place in the tree.
