Synopsis[]
Planet of the Apps[]
Through the vortex the Mane Six were sucked into in Time After Time Capsule, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy end up in the distant future, in which Ponyville is very technologically advanced and occupied by robotic ponies called "mecha-ponies". Fluttershy is quickly taken away by mecha-ponies, and before Twilight and Rainbow can make a plan to save her, another two mecha-ponies appear before them. They introduce themselves as Pulverizer and Natalie and appear friendly; Twilight befriends them, but Rainbow Dash does not trust them.
Pulverizer and Natalie offer to help Twilight and Rainbow find Fluttershy, tracking her to an establishment called "Sucrose Quadrant". Rainbow believes the mecha-ponies are leading them into a trap to turn them into mecha-ponies themselves, but Twilight tells Rainbow to give them a chance. When Twilight and Rainbow hear Fluttershy call out for help inside a floating structure, Twilight gets pulled inside via tractor beam. Rainbow eventually finds her way inside the structure as well and believes she was right not to trust Pulverizer and Natalie, but the structure's interior is revealed to be a snack shop like Sugarcube Corner.
In a nearby room, Rainbow Dash finds Fluttershy playing a virtual reality game and Twilight eating cookies. Realizing her friends were never in any danger and that she was wrong about mecha-ponies, Rainbow apologizes to Pulverizer and Natalie for judging them based on their appearance. When Pulverizer suggests playing a new game, it is revealed to be the calculator Twilight put in the time capsule; the ponies ask for the calculator back, and the mecha-ponies happily oblige. With the calculator in Twilight, Rainbow, and Fluttershy's possession, a vortex opens to take them back to their own time period.
Back to the Present[]
The Mane Six reunite inside the time vortex, and they end up back in present-day Ponyville. However, several details are noticeably different: Sugarcube Corner is now a healthy food restaurant called Salad Bowl Junction, ponies make use of smartphones shaped like bananas, and there are statues of Discord everywhere. Inside Salad Bowl Junction, the Mane Six meet a trio of friends called the "Wild Siders"—a tiger and owner of the restaurant Lightning Chill, a bat named Echo, and a peacock named Sugar Snap—and demand answers.
Through Pinkie Pie's explanation, the Wild Siders realize the Mane Six are from another dimension and offer to help them get back home. Lightning Chill offers the Mane Six samples of her restaurant's salad dishes, but Pinkie is resistant to try them. The ponies discover Pinkie's salad was served to her in the mixing bowl she put in the time capsule, and Echo interprets the bowl's glowing to mean it wants Pinkie to try the salad. Reluctantly, Pinkie tries the salad and finds it delicious.
With the mixing bowl obtained, a vortex opens to bring the Mane Six back to their own dimension. Upon the ponies' return home, another vortex opens to bring the Wild Siders through, with Lightning Chill commenting that the universe wants them to "take a walk on the mild side". Pinkie invites her friends and the Wild Siders into Sugarcube Corner to serve everyone her new salad cupcake recipes.
