Sofia Carson is an American actress and singer. She provides the voice of Pipp Petals in the Netflix animated film My Little Pony: A New Generation.
Carson's involvement in the film was first announced on June 30, 2021.[1] She has stated in interviews that when she was initially approached for the part of Pipp, she accepted almost immediately.[2]
Outside My Little Pony, Carson is best known for portraying Evie in the Disney Channel's Descendants franchise. She is also an accomplished singer-songwriter for Hollywood Records and Republic Records; her debut single "Love Is the Name" was released in April 2016.
In television, Carson began her acting career guest-starring on the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally and the MTV series Faking It. She was later cast in a starring role in the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants as Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen from Snow White, and sang for the film's soundtrack. Carson reprised her role in the sequel films Descendants 2 and Descendants 3, the short-form animated series Descendants: Wicked World, and the animated special Descendants: The Royal Wedding. She has also starred in the Freeform dramas Famous in Love and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, and she has lent her voice to Marvel's Spider-Man on Disney XD and Elena of Avalor on Disney Junior.
In other films, Carson has starred in the television film Adventures in Babysitting, the musical film A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits, the Netflix film Feel the Beat, and the science fiction thriller Songbird. In 2020, Carson was cast in the romance film Purple Hearts, for which she is also an executive producer and will write and perform on the soundtrack.
