The Magic Inside, or I Am Just a Pony,[2] is the fourteenth song of the fifth season of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, and the third of four songs featured in the twenty-fourth episode The Mane Attraction. It is sung by Tony award winning actress Lena Hall. It is the third track on the album Pinkie Pie's Party Playlist.
Production
On December 2, 2014, Lena Hall posted on her Twitter account a brief video showing the recording session of the song.[3][4]
At the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, this song was presented in storyboard animatics to attendees.
This song is a homage to Lady Gaga's acoustic versions of her songs.[5][6]
Ingram originally envisioned this song being performed with a full orchestra, but settled on piano and sparse strings.[7]
The song was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Original Song".[8]
