Torque Wrench is a female Earth pony and supporting character in the hour-long special My Little Pony: Rainbow Roadtrip. She is a repairpony and resident of Hope Hollow.

Torque Wrench, like other Hope Hollow residents, speaks with an Upper Midwestern accent.
Depiction in the series[]
Torque Wrench "volunteers" to repair the Mane Six's balloon.
In My Little Pony: Rainbow Roadtrip, Torque Wrench appears as a repairpony in Hope Hollow. She first appears fixing the Mane Six's hot air balloon, having been volunteered to do so by Mayor Sunny Skies. She later works together with Applejack to fix Hope Hollow's destroyed rainbow billboard. Torque is initially annoyed with this arrangement, but when Applejack compliments her repairs on the hot air balloon's basket, she becomes more open to working with Applejack and starts to feel pride in her repair work. This contributes to the progressive return of color to Hope Hollow.
After Torque Wrench and Applejack finish repairing the rainbow billboard, and Twilight Sparkle comes up with an idea to use the broken-down Rainbow Generator to restore Hope Hollow's color, Applejack recommends Torque for the task of repairing the Generator, which she agrees to and later completes. Though their efforts eventually turn out to be in vain, Torque witnesses color start to return to Hope Hollow on its own.

As more and more color returns to Hope Hollow, Torque Wrench watches the Rainbow Festival begin, and she regains her color as well when the Generator is activated and creates a rainbow aurora in the sky. Torque then celebrates the return of the town's color with the Mane Six and the rest of Hope Hollow during the song Living in Color, and she watches as the Mane Six leave in their repaired hot air balloon.

Personality[]

When first introduced, Torque Wrench is shown to be as dour as most other residents in Hope Hollow following the town's loss of color. She takes very little pride in her work as a repairpony, is unwilling to work with other ponies, and has little patience for Mayor Sunny Skies' "crazy schemes" to boost Hope Hollow's community spirit. However, after working alongside Applejack and receiving praise for her work, Torque's personality has a positive change: she becomes more willing to work with others, she starts to feel pride in her work, and she starts to enjoy the "challenge" of repairing things.
