Hitch Trailblazer: Okay! So I saw this one look in the magic mirror that screamed "Sheriff on the Town"! Can you do the hoof-stars?

Jazz Hooves: Only if you plan on showing them off on the dance floor tonight!

Pipp Petals: This is going to be the best Manesquerade Ball ever!

Izzy Moonbow: I can't belizzle we're invited to the most glamouriffic event in Zephyr Heights!

Sunny Starscout: Just wait until everypony at the ball sees the unity dance I choreographed for us!

Izzy Moonbow: Uh, excuse me, Jazz? Can you do a glitter topcoat... on my horn?!

Jazz Hooves: You know how we do! [humming]

Rocky Riff: [gasps] My hoofness, Jazz! You've done it again!

Izzy Moonbow: [gasps] It's everything!

Zipp Storm: Ugh. You don't really have to.

Rocky Riff: Of course we have to!

Jazz Hooves: You're going to the Zephyr Heights Manesquerade Ball! Everypony that attends always looks beyond!

Zipp Storm: True, but shouldn't you two be getting ready, then?

Jazz Hooves and Rocky Riff: Us?

Pipp Petals: Yes, you! You're [singing soulfully] inviiiiteeeed!

Rocky Riff: [gasps] I didn't know we were invited!

Jazz Hooves: Neither did I!

Rocky Riff: What are we gonna wear?!

Jazz Hooves: I don't know, but it's gotta be beyond!

Sunny Starscout: All right, selfie time!

[camera clicks]

Izzy Moonbow: Does this feel like too much?

Pipp Petals: "Too much"? Iz, Iz, Iz, it's a big deal to be invited.

Izzy Moonbow: Wow! I guess we're gonna need more glitter then!

Jazz Hooves: How do we choose our looks?!

Pipp Petals: Easy! The only dress code is to wear what makes you feel fah-ncy.

Zipp Storm: And you have to wear a mask.

Hitch Trailblazer: Why?

Pipp Petals: The Manesquerade is the place to see and be seen by ponies you can't recognize who don't know who they are seeing!

Zipp Storm: Because everypony loves a mystery!

[thunder cracking]

Opaline: I'm feeling rather generous today. So you are no longer grounded.

Misty: Seriously?! Thank you so much!

Opaline: Yes. I should be thanked. It's very impressive of me to trust you again.

Misty: It is!

Opaline: But I also need to teach you a lesson.

Misty: [gulps]

Opaline: You're not coming with me. You need to stay here and watch the lair while I go back and snag that slippery Dragonstone.

Misty: This feels like a test.

Opaline: Maybe it is a test. But maybe I trust you. The fact that you need to think about it should inform how you act.

[door opens, closes]

Misty: Yeah, this is definitely a test. So I should stay. Even though Opaline probably wouldn't know if I went to see my new friends. But she would say some mean things to me if she found out. Then again, my friends don't say mean things to me. Why is every decision so hard?! [sighs] I wonder what fun thing they're all doing right now.

Sparky Sparkeroni: [excited babbling]

Izzy Moonbow: Don't forget your masks, everypony!

Sunny Starscout and Hitch Trailblazer: [laugh]

Zipp Storm: [humming]

Pipp Petals: What's your deal?

Zipp Storm: I'm bringing some snacks onboard. Why?

Pipp Petals: You're happy. You're never happy when you're forced to do something. And you're usually especially unhappy about going to the Manesquerade Ball.

Zipp Storm: That's because... [whispering] I'm planning to do a little research on Alicorn magic in the palace library archives. In the secret section!

Pipp Petals: [gasps] But that's off-limits!

Misty: That sounds interesting!

Izzy Moonbow: Whoa! Misty! [squeals]

Misty: [strained scream]

Izzy Moonbow: What a fun surprise!

Misty: [chuckles]

Sunny Starscout: Where have you been? We missed you. We haven't seen you in forever.

Misty: I know. I had some stuff come up back at the lair— A-At home! [chuckles nervously] I-I had stuff come up at home! I live at home in a house!

[beat]

Misty: You know how it is. When you're trapped at home doing chores and it feels like you're grounded in a lair? [chuckles nervously] Me, neither. Hey, look at that! Are you getting ready to go to a place?

Sunny Starscout: Not just any place. We're going to the Manesquerade Ball! [laughs]

Pipp Petals: The most glam night for Zephyr Heights!

Hitch Trailblazer: But this year, we're invited! [chuckles]

Misty: Wow, that sounds like a big deal.

Izzy Moonbow: Oh! Oh! Oh, I have an idea! Misty should come with us!

Pipp Petals: Yaaas! Misty, you will love it! It's... It's just... It's a total thing.

Misty: You want me? To go with you? To a thing?

Pipp Petals: YAAAS!

Rest of Mane 5: [agreeing]

Izzy Moonbow: Come with us!

Misty: Wow. I've never been invited to a thing before. It sounds fancy. And full of ponies... who don't know me.

Pipp Petals: Nopony will know who anypony is! Because we all wear masks!

Misty: Oh. I don't have one of those. And I don't feel very fancy.

Izzy Moonbow and Pipp Petals: Leave that to us!

[door opens]

Izzy Moonbow and Pipp Petals: Ta-daaaaah!

Mane 5: [cheering]

Izzy Moonbow: Woo-hoo!

Misty: Yay! Yeah, whoo! [chuckles]

Zipp Storm: So are you in?

Misty: I'm in!

Mane 5: [cheering]

[whirring]

Izzy Moonbow: Ahhh... Isn't flying great? [gasps] Watch this!

[wind whistling]

Izzy Moonbow: [cheeks flapping] I CAN TASTE THE WIND! [screams]

Misty: Hey there, Sparky. It's okay. I won't try to take you. [chuckles nervously]

Sparky Sparkeroni: [confused gurgle]

Izzy Moonbow: Are you two okay?

Misty: I didn't do anything! I swear!

Izzy Moonbow: Okaaaaay... Can you give us a minute, bud?

Sparky Sparkeroni: [giggles]

Izzy Moonbow: It's okay, Misty. I know what's going on with you.

Misty: You do?!

Izzy Moonbow: It's as obvious as the horn on your head. You're... nervous!

Misty: Oh! Oh, yeah. You got me. I'm nervous.

Izzy Moonbow: Well, you don't need to be. You just need to be you.

Misty: Not exactly sure that ponies like it when I'm just being me.

Izzy Moonbow: [scoffs] Ha! Come on! Of course they do, Misty!

Misty: What if I do something awkward?

Izzy Moonbow: You won't. But even if you do, nopony will know it's you. Because of masks! [haughty accent] Oh, have you seen Izzy? [normal voice] Now you try! Hmm... Hello there, stranger. If you see Misty, can you give her this charm bracelet I made for her? It has the cutie marks of her new friends on it.

Misty: For me? I... Thank you.

Sunny Starscout: [squeals] Okay, everypony! I know you've all been waiting for me to teach you the moves for the unity dance I choreographed for us!

Izzy Moonbow and Misty: What's a unity dance?

Sunny Starscout: Seriously? It's on the group text.

Sunny Starscout (Video): Canter skip, double click...

Sunny Starscout: Just imagine it. All three pony kinds dancing together in perfect unison at the grand hall of Zephyr Heights Palace!

Misty: I'm sorry, Sunny, but, um, I don't think I can perform in front of other ponies.

Sunny Starscout: There's no reason to be shy. This dance is about everypony working together and supporting each other. And it's fun! Once we practice, you'll be fine.

[rumbling]

Sunny Starscout: Whoa!

[hissing]

Hitch Trailblazer: We're here! Let's go!

Sparky Sparkeroni: [gurgles excitedly]

Pipp Petals: You ready to rock this red carpet?

Rest of Mane 5 and Misty: [cheering]

Pipp Petals: Mask up, everypony!

Sunny Starscout: Wait! We need to rehearse! I-I can't do a unity dance by myself!

Skye Silver: Skye Silver here at the grandest and glitziest Manesquerade Ball red carpet Zephyr Heights has ever seen. Isn't that right, Dazzle?

Dazzle Feather: Yes, Skye. The first ZH ball to include all pony kinds of Equestria.

Seashell, Glory, and Peach Fizz: [whistling, laughing]

Skye Silver: What an historic event.

Dazzle Feather: Hi. Dazzle Feather, ZBS Tonight. What are you wearing, and who are you really?

Jazz Hooves: Only the best.

Rocky Riff: And wouldn't you like to know?

[upbeat music]

Mane 5: [sounds of awe]

Queen Haven: How amazing is this, Cloudpuff? Thanks to the masks, nopony knows who I am! [giggles]

Skye Silver: Excuse us, Your Majesty. May we ask a few questions for the red carpet?

Queen Haven: Why are you bowing and calling me "Your Majesty"? I'm sorry, but I don't appreciate you assuming.

Dazzle Feather: Oh, I'm so sorry, Queen.

Cloudpuff: [barking]

Dazzle Feather: I mean, whoever you are. It's just so hard to tell who is who with everypony wearing masks.

Skye Silver: You said it, Dazzle. I'm sure everypony at the ball will be asking, "Who is this mysterious, stunning mare?" [laughs]

Queen Haven: Whew!

Sunny Starscout: What is she doing?

Pipp Petals: Ugh. Mom does this at the ball every year. Okay, team! Showtime!

["My Bananas" instrumental]

[cheering]

[cameras clicking]

Pipp Petals: Oh, yeah!

Paparazzi: Who are you wearing? Princess Pipp, you look iconic!

Sparky Sparkeroni: [excited gurgling]

Shutter Snap: A baby dragon on the red carpet?! I can't even! Too cute!

[cameras clicking]

Misty: You mind if I trot back here with you so I'm in not any pictures?

Zipp Storm: Why don't you want to be photographed?

Misty: Uhhh, the same reason as you?

Zipp Storm: Hmm! Can't argue with that!

Mane 5 and Misty: [sounds of awe]

Sunny Starscout: Wow!

Izzy Moonbow: Whoa!

Mane 5 and Misty: [gasp]

Izzy Moonbow: Hay-fever-happy-berries, this is beautiful!

Misty: It really is!

Pipp Petals: We have chocolate fountains, whipped cream waterfalls, peanut butter puddles, and my personal favorite... cookie towers!

Hitch Trailblazer: [gasps, chomps]

Izzy Moonbow: Hitch! You did not just do that!

Hitch Trailblazer: [with mouth full] Did I do something wrong?

Izzy Moonbow: Uh, yes! You forgot the whipped cream! Duh!

Hitch Trailblazer: Mm, mm, mmm! I have never been so happy to be wrong!

Misty: Huh? What are you up to? Looking for information on Opaline?! [sighs]

Sunny Starscout: One more time! It's canter, skip, double click, hoof it up, a twirly shift!

Pipp Petals: Canter, skip, and...

Hitch Trailblazer: Click!

Izzy Moonbow: Glitter!

Sparky Sparkeroni: [excited gurgle]

Queen Haven: [gasps] Who, me? Shhh! Obviously, you recognize me when nopony else does.

Alphabittle: Wait, you think that—?

Queen Haven: Absolutely. Only my closest friends and family ever know it's me while I'm masquerading.

Alphabittle: [laughs] Really?

Queen Haven: Mm-hmm!

Alphabittle: Oh! You're serious. Oh, I'm so sorry for blowing your cover.

Zipp Storm: That's what I'm talking about! Enhance! Magic for Ponies, History of Zephyr Heights: 10th Edition, The Unexpurgated Book of Unicorns and Their Diets... Huh. Well, that's weirdly specific.

Misty: Wow. I didn't even know Equestria had this many books. Apparently, nopony else did, either. [blows, sneezes] Whoa!

[thud!]

Misty: [grunts]

Misty: Ow! [gasps, whispering] Alicorns of the Ancient World? I bet Opaline would reward me for something like this! Aah!

Zipp Storm: Misty? Did you... follow me?

Misty: Uh, me?! I-I'm not a follower! [chuckles nervously] Just because we're in the same place doesn't mean I followed you.

Misty: Uh, it sort of found me. Actually, it fell on me. [chuckles]

Pipp Petals: There you two are! What are you doing?! Come on! Sunny is trying to teach us—

Pipp Petals: Yes! And she's freaking out because we are running out of time to rehearse! Aw, look. All of my old Spooky Stables books! Awww! Anyway, are you guys coming or what?

Zipp Storm: What do you say, Misty? Are you down to go do a dance we don't know?

Misty: In front of everypony? I'll make a fool out of myself!

Zipp Storm: At least we'd be fools together.

Misty: But I don't know any of the moves.

Hitch Trailblazer: Ah, come on, Sunny. It's not that bad.

Sunny Starscout: You're right. Ha! It's fine. We're just about to perform a unity dance that will be completely un-unified!

Hitch Trailblazer: I guess when you put it like that, it doesn't sound ideal.

Izzy Moonbow: Ta-daaaaah!

Jazz Hooves: Now that's what I call a DJ Deck!

Rocky Riff: Me, too!

Izzy Moonbow: Really? I call it a disco platter. Huh! Must be a unicorn thing.

Sunny Starscout: [whispering] Izzy, this is a bad idea!

Izzy Moonbow: [whispering] But it's happening! [through microphone] And now, a special performance of the Electric Unity Shuffle!

Sunny Starscout: What do we do?! This isn't the message of unity I wanted to send!

Hitch Trailblazer: Don't worry, Sunny. They'll follow your lead. They always do.

Izzy Moonbow: What is the first move again?
