Under Our Spell is the sixth of eleven songs featured in My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks that the Dazzlings sing. The song debuted as part of the V.I.F. game on the Equestria Girls website. The song is also heard in the second part of the live-action Rainbow Rocks ad.[2] The song serves as the third track on the My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. It also serves as the thirteenth track on the My Little Pony 2015 Convention Collection. An instrumental version can be heard in the "Camera" option from the Equestria Girls app.
The Dazzlings perform the song during the first round of the Battle of the Bands, while the eliminations are shown during a montage. The commentary on the DVD notes that this was done in order to show the battle without necessarily having to write a lot of songs for it.[3]
A "DJ Pon-3's Version" rock remix, with new vocals, and its instrumental were released as a single album on streaming services on September 27, 2024. The remix also serves as the third track on the DJ Pon-3 Presents: Halloween remix album.
