Since this is indeed the last season of MLP: FIM, I've decided make my own list of things I want to happen this season. It's not very big as I try not rise my expectations and some of these wishes are pretty practical. Here it is.
1. "All Good Things must come to an End" - Q (John de Lancie)
- I would like the crew to pay a nod for de Lancie's role of Q in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" where he made this quote to Piccard as the episode begins to reach its conclusion. I would be nice if Discord said this in any of episodes he is in during the final season.
2. Cozy Glow Story finished
- Probably a given, but I would like the writers to top off what they did for Cozy Glow. She turned out oto be a master manipulator for a filly, and I would love to see how far she'll go with her skills. For her story's conclusion, I want a backstory reveal to explain her motivations that leads to two choices, give friendship a "real" chance (that makes sense) or forsake the idea and her final fate becoming worse than being trapped in Tartarus. Perhaps turned to stone, sent to a hostile dimension, or obliteration at most.
3. Queen Chrysalis having a more prominent presence
- The Mean 6 was an OK episode in my book, but I still wish Chrysalis had a bigger purpose in the previous season instead of being a comedic, if not mentally unstable, villain with easily flawed plans. To me, it shows the writers are planning some kind of redemption of sorts for her and were only prolonging the inevitable. If it is the road we must go on, I would want her to be betrayed by the other villains and opens to the idea of being friends with the ponies or even Ocellus. I think she will be the true key to her redemption and succeed where others have failed.
4. A song in the series finale conclusion
- We have not had one since The Cutie Re-Mark - Part 2 and it would give the show a sense of conclusion. Perhaps a montage of old clips could play on top of the song and then a photo with everyone and a closing book in a classic "The End" or "Happily Ever After" fashion.
5. More Alicorn Lore
- It been a decade and we still don't know much of the alicorn species of pony or whether it is/was an actual race. I'm pretty sure at this point this factor the MLP Universe is going to up to viewer interpretation, but it would be nice to know if Celestia and Luna are beings of higher existence or two sisters who where simply destined to bring balance to a new world until Twilight and her friends expanded on it.
6. The Tree of Harmony harmed (Again)/Student Six Destiny Revealed
- I think it would be interesting if Tree of Harmony was put in danger again with the possibly of a villain tag-team happening. Maybe they succeed in destroying the tree but like the usual deus ex machina, it is regrown or replanted and all is well thanks to The Student Six. I think these new recruits are ultimately going to replace the Mane as the Element barrier in a spiritual sense and the tree knows it and is prepping them for the threat to come.
Optional: Where's Zecora's homeland? I consider it optional because at this point it may not due to a large amount of characters and potential stories that can be made with these characters. Zecora has essentially been pushed to the back like some other characters. To at least see her explain where she came would be satisfactory since no creature may visit there.
Overall, I just expect one of my favorite shows to go out with a bang and having me walk way remembering why I fell in love with the show.
