Well, this is it, The Last Problem. I gotta say, I don't really care for that title. For a final episode, that seems like a very underwhelming title. I woulda perferred Friendship Will Always Be Magic to allude the first episode of the series. Oh wellzees, that's the way it is, no way to change it now. We're gonna be feeling that way for alota stuff in this episode. So here we go!
Let's start off in the flashback, it's time for Twilight Sparkle's second coronation, her being in charge of Equestria as a whole now! So basically, this kinda cancels out the Remane Five ruling Equestria alongside her, cause now Twilight's gotta leave her friends behind, which makes sense counting they all have their own lives. This is pretty realistic counting how relatable alota people must feel after moving away, not seeing their friends as much as they used to. This is basically the opposite effect of The Last Crusade, since somepony is actually leaving now. Everypony was pretty sad, well, except Spike, not sure why. Isn't he gonna miss his friends? His Guys' Nights with Big McIntosh and Discord, learning more about the dragon ways with Smolder, he won't see Gabby anymore since she goes to Ponyville for information on Gallus, hmm... maybe that explains why he became a royal guard!
So how about that timejump, huh? This was quite unexpected. When I first saw that busky Spike come in through the door, I was wondering what happened! Looks like he made quite a bit of a success of himself! Bye-bye assistant role, hello Ambassador and second-in-command! This is exactly the thing I was hoping for him to have - an actual career! Looking after Equestria's affairs outside the country? That's a pretty big responsibility, I'm proud of him! Did he end up with Gabby in the end? Hard to tell - there's been alota implication relationships, like Fluttercord, Yonabar, and for some reason AppleDash - I dunno, I always thought Rarijack made more sense, but I won't get into that - and implications aren't really canon; but what is canon is that Pinkie Pie actually married Cheese Sandwich and got a daughter son! Even Big Mac and Sugar Belle have a kid now! Wow, this future has alot! Alot has changed! Rarity made a pretty big success of herself by having an entire business empire under her hoof, with Yona running her old boutique! Rainbow Dash is Captain of the Bolts now, Starlight, Sunburst, and Trixie are doing well at the School of Friendship, with the Cutie Mark Crusaders now being teachers there! Smolder, Ocellus, and Silverstream decided to stay, even some older versions of some BG characters and other familiar faces appear! Oh... but no Granny Smith... AJ has her scarf now, and it seems Apple Bloom has Goldie Delicious' - well, nopony lasts forever.
So many faces in this episode! So many familiar faces! If not at the coronation, then the little group pictures thing in the end! I didn't think Spitfire was gonna get any dialogue this season at all! A couple new faces too, including Luster Dawn, a potential successor to Twilight - or I dunno, what's her plan for her anyway? To be honest, I didn't really care much for Luster, but I understand her purpose. People seem to think she's Starlight and Sunburst's daughter, but that doesn't make any sense to me. Luster doesn't understand friendship, and with Starlight and Sunburst running a friendship school, you'd think she'd know more about it and take it more seriously. If she were actually their daughter, Starlight woulda had to been pregnant during the flashbacks, but she wasn't. I can't say this final episode was "perfect" though - the newspapers seemed to forget Spike was there in the final battle, and he was also forgotten with the statue of the Mane Six. I hope there was a window for him on the side we didn't see - cause we did see windows of the Student 6 being heroes once again, and the CMCs too, plus that one window of Flurry Heart, I assuming is taking over Princess Cadance's place. She wasn't princess for very long.
The Magic of Friendship Grows was a great final song for the series, and of course the book closes. The end. Or is it? Season 10 comics are coming up soon - and of course there's those Clipshow episodes of how Spike and Starlight made the memories book for Twilight! So it might not be a 'goodbye' after all, at least not yet. Oh yeah and Pony Life is coming too. So there might be more coming up! However, this is it for me in making these review posts probably.
It's been fun making these, and this show will always be near and dear to my heart! I must thank the devs for working so hard in making this show, and it's been an inspiration! I will miss this show deeply, but until next time, brahs. Until next time. Hugs all around! Talk to ya later alligators, and I'll talk about ya! Thanks! ;)
