My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Wiki

Thanks to Mega Sean 45, I now think that everyone's favourite drake, Spike, is going to have a big part to play in the series finale of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. But how exactly should that play out? Here are 5 things that I think should happen to Spike in the finale.

#5: Spike starts to feel unimportant again[]

There needs to be something to get the ball rolling for Spike's big moment, and I think it should be that he starts to feel like just a second banana to Twilight and her friends, feeling like he won't ever do as much as they ever will. With the Mane 6's ascension to the throne coming up, Spike starts to wonder what that will make him.

#4: Spike goes on a journey of self-discovery[]

This could be a sort of a subplot during the finale while the Mane 6 deal with whatever they deal with. After Spike wonders what he is and what he's meant for, he goes on his own little adventure to find answers. He could find who his real parents were, how his egg got to Equestria, or something along those lines.

#3: Spike unlocks his magic[]

We all know there's got to be more to the little drake than meets the eye, right? Well, what if, all this time, he had magic of his own? During Spike's journey, he could discover that he has a very powerful magic inside him, and he needs to learn how to use it before something happens.

#2: Spike battles Grogar and his forces[]

Watch this video, then tell me you wouldn't want to see something like that in the actual show! Spike's epic moment comes when he returns with his magic awakened, when Grogar and his legion are on the warpath. I can see him saving Twilight's life, tearing through Grogar's minions, and facing down the wicked ram alone!

And finally...

#1: Spike sacrifices himself[]

A while back, I suggested that in the finale, someone should make the ultimate sacrifice to save Equestria. And now, I think it should be Spike. During his showdown with Grogar, he realizes that the only way to take him down is to go down with him. I either picture him using the full extent of his magic to destroy both himself and Grogar, or pulling a Tony Stark and using the Bewitching Bell against Grogar, only to succumb to its powerful magic. Yes, it would be tragic, and it would probably be the most controversial move in FiM history. But I feel that's what it will take for Spike to fulfill his destiny.

Twilight: Spike, please... I can't lose you...
Spike: You're not... losing me... I'll always be with you, Twilight... no matter what... happens...
Twilight: No... please don't go...
Spike: (holds Twilight's hoof) I... love you... mom...

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
