Merchandise/toy ponies list

I take it you're of the opinion that cases like Princess Luna and Nightmare Moon, or A.K. Yearling and Daring Do, should be handled as one entry, then. I guess this also means you don't think that e.g. unicorn Twilight and Alicorn Twilight should have separate entries? Does this extend to pony characters and human versions of those characters?

Also, should non-pony characters be covered on the list (in which case my naming was rather shortsighted), or should they get their own list, à la List of non-pony characters? And while the topic of separate lists is afoot, do you have any thoughts on eventually splitting this list up by type of merchandise/toys (e.g. blind bag/video games/etc.), or would you say it's still too early to make that call?

Lastly, do you have any other sort of feedback or suggestions for the list? How much more do you think it needs before it can be moved out of the workshop? (Sorry for the barrage of questions; I'm just really anxious to get some feedback on this, especially from someone who's more familiar with the community and the wiki's content than I am. =X ) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:20, March 3, 2014 (UTC)

Most of these questions probably ought to be raised at My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Wiki talk:Workshop/List of merchandise and toy ponies, but I can tell that the "merchandise and toy" part needs rewording (either to simply "merchandise" or to "toy and other merchandise") and that it's missing a lot of ponies (both in-show ones and non-show ones). (7)6(four) (talk) 20:51, March 3, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I'll move most of my questions there. =)
The name was really kind of an interim thing; I'd been hoping I would get some input on it at some point, but I can say that I agree with your thoughts - though I don't know whether I prefer just "merchandise" or the longer "toys and other merchandise" more. Regardless, though, I'm not able to rename the list, so someone else will have to. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:47, March 3, 2014 (UTC)

Raven's article is about ready for the mainspace -- at the very least I believe it is. Just a couple things:

  • What are your thoughts on this?
  • Is Raven featured in any second- or third-party merch, such as the card game?

ImperfectXIII Wiki signature.png FANMADE ImperfectXIII OC pixel animation.gif 01:58, March 16, 2014 (UTC)

  • I'd say unicorn: that's the version she appears as most often (as you mentioned there), that's the version with multiple speaking lines, and that's the version who's referred to by name (as I mentioned here). For comparison regarding Raven first appearing as an Earth pony, "Berry Pinch" and "Tornado Bolt" each first appear as different kinds than usual (five episodes prior to their usual versions' respective first appearances) but their usual versions are still considered their primary versions.
  • Not that I'm aware of.

The Daring Do Double Dare - activity pages

Forgive my presumptuousness, but I figure you would be the one to ask about this. Do you know of copies of Rainbow Dash and the Daring Do Double Dare with blue bonus activity pages instead of green? ImperfectXIII Wiki signature.png FANMADE ImperfectXIII OC pixel animation.gif 23:54, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

My copy's bonus activity pages are blue, which definitely isn't an ink error since its back cover says "After you read Rainbow Dash's story, jump into the fun with blue activity pages!" Which color is listed on the back cover of your green-paged copy? (7)6(four) (talk) 00:09, April 8, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, then perhaps my copy is the one with the ink error because it reads the same. ImperfectXIII Wiki signature.png FANMADE ImperfectXIII OC pixel animation.gif 00:33, April 8, 2014 (UTC)
For what it's worth, online listings of the book say "Don't miss the green activity pages in the back of the book!" (7)6(four) (talk) 00:36, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Mobile game character list

Hope you don't mind me poking you about the split I proposed a few days ago. If there's someone better I should ask instead, let me know and I'll pester them instead. =)

More generally, should I take silence as consent in the future, and if so, how long should I wait first? (Again, if there's someone else I should pester about this instead, let me know.) Thanks! ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:40, April 24, 2014 (UTC)

Well, whether or not those lists are split to a separate page from the main article, I'd say those "Characters" and "Playable characters" lists should be merged with each other. Anyway, sometimes I've proposed changes to no response (or little response but all of it in support) and eventually made the changes per lack of objection (but I'm not 100% sure if the reason those changes stayed wasn't majorly that the changes themselves weren't much noticed :P). As for whether there's someone better you should ask instead, I suggest an administrator. (7)6(four) (talk) 15:47, April 24, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, merging the two lists together would be one part of splitting to a standalone list. =)
And I'm perfectly aware of acting on a lack of response as though it was consensus; I just wanted to be sure that there wasn't any kind of prohibition or the like on that type of thing here.
So much for my secret plan of piquing the interest of a passing admin and having them comment here... XD ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:39, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

Pony IDs

Don't suppose you've any idea who these three are, do you? The pinkish one looks to have the same coloration as Berry Shine, but her mane and tail style don't match, and I honestly have no idea on the other two. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 09:22, April 30, 2014 (UTC)

They don't seem like anypony in particular to me either (also, Berryshine is one word). (7)6(four) (talk) 15:11, April 30, 2014 (UTC)
Aah, so much for hoping, I guess (and don't ask me why I spelled Berryshine with a space, I don't know either =C ). D'you think it's worth listing them on the list of characters, and if so, what would you suggest listing them as? "Unnamed ... Earth pony mare #[1-3]", but "Unnamed" what? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:34, May 1, 2014 (UTC)
Now that you mention it, those three should indeed be added there, but I'm not sure what they should be listed as, since that list's format is different from most lists such as List of ponies and List of comic ponies... (7)6(four) (talk) 19:37, May 1, 2014 (UTC)
Don't worry about the format; I'll be bringing it more in-line with the format used in the other lists when I split it. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:16, May 2, 2014 (UTC)
Could I trouble you to have a look at the three's entries to see if their descriptions should be tweaked at all and to maybe get the color info filled in? (The order for #2 and #3 doesn't matter, though I thought of them left-to-right as I added their rows.) Properly cropped profile pictures would be an added bonus, but I'll get to those myself after a while if no one else does. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:32, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
Their descriptions look good to me; as for their color info, I dunno the proper manner of getting eye colors, but I could get their coat and mane colors if you still want just those from me. (7)6(four) (talk) 07:59, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
Awesome. =) And yeah, those'd be fine. For future reference, can I just get coat/mane colors by going at an image with a color-picker tool, or is there some other method I'd have to use? How does it work in cases where the coat/mane isn't a solid color (there's a gradient, or a shadow, or the image is a photograph of a physical toy, etc.)? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:12, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
Done (but feel free to improve 'em). Colors can indeed be gotten from an image just by color-picking and using I'm not 100% sure myself how best to handle non-solid colors (that's why I dunno the proper manner of getting eye colors). (7)6(four) (talk) 09:08, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks again. =) If you have any other comments/suggestions for the list, too, I'm all ears. =) Fair enough, do you have a suggestion as to who I should ask about getting colors in more complicated such cases (I've certainly wondered myself how one particular color is chosen as characters' eye color when they're always shown as a gradient)? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 15:59, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
I'd suggest somebody who's gotten such colors for other lists' entries. (7)6(four) (talk) 16:17, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
Aah, yes, of course. Make me do the work for the information I want. Okay, I'll look through the history of the other lists later and see if I can't figure out who usually does that. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:25, May 17, 2014 (UTC)

Got another one for you: this guy is one of six ponies that were added to the mobile game a few days ago (I suspect it's in preparation for the Crystal Empire update, but that's neither here nor there =D ). Rock Father

Whether his summary is legit or not, it's still spoilers for the episode which some people might not want to see before it airs, so that's why it keeps getting taken down. If you want it up there, maybe just post a link to the page so that those who want spoilers can click it, and those who don't don't have to see it against their will. Also we're not 100% sure what he said is true, they could have put him up to this to trick those who don't have the self control to not read the spoilers, as I can't think of any other reason why they'd give him permission to do this after PTS was accidentally posted then taken down within the hour. Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 21:18, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

In response to the first and second sentences: It isn't the only summary with any spoilers, just the summary with the most spoilers, so treating it differently than the others would be inconsistent; Forum:Wiki discussion would be where to best organize proposal of omission. In response to the third sentence: Nothing, since I'm not dignifying that with a response. (7)6(four) (talk) 21:44, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

"There isn't a way to make this template generate as many as input instead of adding 'em manually, is there?"

In response to your edit summary, not exactly. If you get clever, there are ways to approximate it using padleft and StringFunctions, and if a wiki has SMW enabled you can use

  1. arraymap to sort-of do it, but otherwise it requires something like Extension:Arrays (or Extension:Loops, though I don't know if Wikia allows that one to be enabled); Extension:Variables can also help with this and has the added benefit of being endlessly useful elsewhere too. Eventually, we'll be able to do this and much more with Lua and Scribunto, but I don't have a timeline as to when Wikia might deploy them. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 20:18, May 14, 2014 (UTC)

What's the purpose of the data-sort-value attribute used on some of the entries on the pony lists? Is it (as it sounds) a sorting hint for the sortable JS, or something else? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:23, May 29, 2014 (UTC)

It is for sorting—it makes entries of ponies with titles (such as Banner Vendor Peachy Pitt's entry) still be sortable by name; I dunno if it's the best way to ensure that, though. (7)6(four) (talk) 08:38, May 29, 2014 (UTC)
I take it the id attribute added by {{Cellanchor}} doesn't factor in to the sort JS, then (and, thinking about it, I really wouldn't expect it to). This had been tripping me up before; I couldn't understand the point to duplicating a value between data-sort-value and Template:Cellanchor. Thanks for providing the hint that let me work this out. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 09:27, May 29, 2014 (UTC)

Mobile game Cotton Cloudy

I've been chatting with the official Facebook page for Gameloft's mobile game via PMs, and just asked if they could shed any light on the whole Cotton Cloudy thing; while there's no guarantee they'll actually give me an answer to that specific question, I have gotten other tidbits from them (for example, Uncle and Aunt Orange will finally be moving back in together in the next update ^^ ), so it's not outside the realm of possibility. In the event I do get clarification, since this is happening via PMs (and thus there's no way to link to the exchange), how would I go about sourcing whatever info I get (since I assume you guys won't accept just my word  )? Would a screenshot of the messages suffice, or would I have to convince them to make a public statement of some sort? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 09:37, May 29, 2014 (UTC)

Some images used for citation are of unlinkable messages, so a screenshot of PMs might suffice. (7)6(four) (talk) 09:54, May 29, 2014 (UTC)
Cool. I was aware there were citation images uploaded to the wiki, but hadn't looked through them to see if any were of unlinkable stuff. I'll remember that if I get an explanatory reply, then. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 09:57, May 29, 2014 (UTC)
File:Cotton Cloudy clarification Gameloft mobile game.png Not as helpful as I'd been hoping. =C ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:20, May 29, 2014 (UTC)
To add another twist to this saga, Cotton Cloudy seems to have model files included amongst the model files for the other characters, as well as an icon image that presumably would have been used for quest tasks relating to her; the coloration in the image looks to match her ID image, though the small size makes it hard to be sure. These files are present in the game files for versions 1.8 and 1.9, but I don't have earlier versions to check. Presumably, she'll also have a texture for the actual character model, but character model textures are stored in libraries of multiple characters' textures with generic filenames (the first such file for the Ponyville characters has the filename "type01_master_01.pvr", and each file contains eight characters' textures), so it won't be very easy for me to confirm (and even if I can/do, I won't be able to get an image of a properly rigged and textured model of her, since the game uses a custom - or at least very obscure - model format and I don't have access to a viewer/editor for it). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:53, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
Ooh, interesting; thank you! On the subject(s) of "type01_master_01.pvr" and unused game characters, a fan's November 26, 2012 "pvr translated as a png" version (formerly here) included textures matching Skywishes and Beachberry, so I wonder if those characters have game file leftovers like Cotton Cloudy does... (7)6(four) (talk) 05:57, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
I'll have to re-find my copy of the first version's files and check, but the type01_master_01.pvr file in the current game version contains the textures for the Mane Six, Lovestruck, and Aunt Orange, so I don't expect there to be any files left for Skywishes or Beachberry in the current version. If the characters included in each file have been changed between versions, though, that somewhat compounds my work, since it means I'll have to try and track down the files from other versions and check each one for changes - not hard, once I have the files, but somewhat tedious. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:27, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
I should've mentioned this before, BTW, but if you want, I can convert and upload the other character texture atlases for you (it's not difficult or particularly time-consuming, just a bit tedious), especially given you seem much more adept at identifying characters than I am (though I don't know if that's simply because you take your time checking for matching characters and have a keen eye for matching color patterns, or if it's because you've put in the time and effort needed to actually memorize a lot of details about who's who). If you want me to do this, I'll also make sure to compare them directly between 1.8 and 1.9 to see if there are any changes, rather than just additions (and, needless to say, I'll also dig out my 1.0 files and take care of that version, too). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:31, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
I would indeed be interested to see! (7)6(four) (talk) 05:35, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I'll get on that in a bit (basically, as soon as I've gotten this comment posted =D ). =)
In the meantime, though, I've gone ahead and tracked down the files I have from the first version (since I wanted to get them moved to be together with the 1.8 and 1.9 files anyway), and it turns out I'd already converted its type01_master_01.pvr file to PNG, since I'd had a peek at it and realized I couldn't identify the last two textures, so I've already uploaded it for you. The last texture looks like a match for Beachberry, but the seventh doesn't seem to bear more than a passing resemblance to the Skywishes toy pictured on My Little Wiki. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:45, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you very much! Yep, those textures are the same ones that I was talking about—regarding that seventh texture, it matches the Skywishes mini-figure toys and one of the Skywishes collector cards more closely than it does the Skywishes brushable toy and packaging. (7)6(four) (talk) 06:15, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Not a problem, this is all stuff I've been meaning to do anyways and have just been putting off for forever, so if anything I should thank you for giving me the kick I needed to finally get it done.
I've got all the 1.0 atlases done and listed at User:Dinoguy1000/sandbox - it took me somewhat longer than I thought it would, since I decided to fill in names whenever I identified a character quickly enough (though this means that, for the most part, the names listed haven't been checked, so some of them could be wrong - in particular, the ones with question marks - and if I couldn't identify a character at all, I just left the spot blank). Some interesting stuff: the filenames indicate the character model type used (I already knew this, it just didn't seem very important until now), with type01 for mares, type02 for stallions, type03 for princesses, and type04 for foals; and within each type, the textures are arranged tending towards alphabetical by character name, with some spots following more closely than others. You should feel free to fill in blanks and correct/confirm characters as I've identified them right away if you want; I'll be working on the 1.8/1.9 atlases in the meantime and will merge any changes you've made if I get an edit conflict. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:41, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
All right, it's all finished up. Let me know if any of the imgur links are repeated; it's possible I could've miscopied one or two of them. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:28, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
I went through it; thanks a huge bunch again! On top of there being loads more unused character textures—Peachy Pie('s adult version), S01E11 Unnamed Pegasus Mare #3(?), Cookie Crumbles, Nurse Redheart, S04E17 Unnamed Earth Stallion #1, Finish Line, Blue Moon, Savoir Fare, "Bushel", "Jonagold", "Apple Cider", Apple Leaves, Candy Apples, "Florina", Gala Appleby, Red Delicious, Red Gala, and Wensley—there was a texture matching Apple Bottoms more than a month before the release of his debut episode Apple Family Reunion! (7)6(four) (talk) 10:29, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Aah, great work! =) (And I find quite amusing some of the mistakes I did manage to make, while I was worrying over the imgur links =D ) Something that stuck out to me about the S01E11 UPM3 texture is that the way her mane texture is laid out, she would've had the same mane style as Rainbow; not really sure what to make of that. Another thing I noted while I was rooting around in the files but didn't list here at the time is that there are a few other character textures scattered around in other PVR files: the construction pony's in a_con_body_and_wings.pvr (which also contains the wing texture used for non-pegasi in the flying game), Fido's in a_fido_d.pvr, Rover's in a_rover_d.pvr, Spot's in a_spot_d.pvr (the three Diamond Dog textures were added (probably some time) after 1.0), Derpy's texture was moved to env_world_20.pvr (which also contains the textures for a couple of buildings and some decor items), and Archer's in minigame_archer.pvr (together with the crossed-out texture for another foal I couldn't immediately identify; this file wasn't present in 1.0, either, suggesting Archer wasn't added to the game until sometime after release). I've also found the textures used for the human models in the dance minigame (including Vinyl's) if you're interested in those at all. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 14:16, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Aha, Archer—so she is named in a game file; I've always wondered that about the game's unnamed (including title-only) characters! (The crossed-out other foal's texture matches Featherweight's non-crossed-out texture.) Archer's addition to the game was apparently part of the same update that added Aloe, Lotus Blossom, and Masseuse Pony. Regarding the game's human model textures, if those don't include any unused ones then I wouldn't be as interested in them, but do they indicate whether stuff like with Twilight Sparkle here (actually shown in one of Gameloft's official trailers :P) was designed to look like that or wasn't designed with such visibility in mind? (7)6(four) (talk) 23:24, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
It's not really clear - there's nothing in the texture file that looks like it's supposed to be a pair of panties or the like, but I have no way of checking exactly what parts of the texture actually get used, and even if I did, the nature of packing the texture of a 3D model with complex geometry into a 2D image file means it wouldn't necessarily be obvious just by looking at the texture file. And no, I haven't noticed any dance minigame-related textures that appear to be of characters that don't appear in-game in the minigame, though I've more skimmed through the filenames than anything, to say nothing of actually physically looking at each file's contents. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:33, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

Seems I've stumbled across another part to the Cotton Cloudy saga: while investigating the backend changes in the most recent update (engine version 1.9.2 or so, content version 1.9), I went through the gui_atlas##.pvr files, which are, as they probably sound, files containing various images used for different parts of the interface, compiled into atlases. In gui_atlas14.pvr, I came across a headshot and full image of Cotton Cloudy, which unambiguously show her to be a pegasus filly. Investigating, I also found the images in the gui_atlas12.pvr file from the 1.8 files. I've uploaded both of these to the MLP Gameloft wiki and added them to her article there, but haven't done so here as well because I'm not sure of the best presentation, or even if all three images (the two I just added and the older quest menu icon image) would be desired here. More generally speaking, if you're interested in these atlas files as you were in the skin texture files, I can convert them to PNG and upload them to imgur as well (though it'll take more work, as each one also has an alpha mask that needs to be applied to remove an overbleed halo thing around each constituent image - the same process I used to produce the usable quest menu item image of Cotton Cloudy, if you're curious). For the most part, it's just images used directly in the interface, and headshots/full images of the characters used in various places, but there's also a headshot of a palette swap of Rainbow Dash I'm unfamiliar with in 1.9's gui_atlas13.pvr, and there may be a few other images of unimplemented characters, too (and I haven't cracked open the gui_atlas files from the first game version at all (assuming they're present there, I haven't checked for them yet), so who knows what's lurking in them). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:26, August 16, 2014 (UTC)

Great findings; thanks a lot! I would be very interested to see—and hopefully recognize—that Rainbow Dash palette swap and any possible other unimplemented characters (if I'm not too late; awfully sorry it was so long before my reply here). (7)6(four) (talk) 05:59, December 10, 2014 (UTC)
No worries, and you're not too late; I'll drag the files out and get them prepared for upload either in a bit or sometime tomorrow. I'll also have to recheck for the presence of the atlases in the first-version files I have; I checked back after posting that, but given the timespan, I think you could forgive me for not remembering what I found. =)
And no need to apologize for the delay; while your sudden absence did worry me a bit (after over a decade interacting with people on forums, and then on wikis, I've seen more than a few unexplained disappearances by other people, and unfortunately there've been at least a few of them where those voices have fallen for good), most such cessations of activity end up being temporary in response to real-life obligations, so while I was curious about why you stopped editing for a bit, I wasn't about to ring any alarm bells or anything just yet. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 10:25, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

Well she refers to Shining Armor as "my brother" all the time. I'd have to read it again but I don't think she calls Chrysalis "changeling queen" in the comics, she calls her Chrysalis the whole time. Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 22:55, June 21, 2014 (UTC)

Other Crystal Ponies

Have either of these Crystal Ponies been named and/or added to the List of ponies? Established ponies with different color schemes maybe? (Second one seems to resemble Winnow Wind, but different cutie mark and slightly different coat color.) And speaking of different color schemes...

Might this be Ivory with a different mane color? Same coat color and cutie mark. ImperfectXIII Wiki signature.png FANMADE ImperfectXIII OC pixel animation.gif 06:10, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

File:CE1 Crystal Pony stallion 6 S3E02.png is "Castle" under shading (a good way to tell whether ponies are under shading is to look at whether or not the whites of their eyes are white), while the non-shaded ones are in that weird limbo of being one(-or-two-but-in-these-cases-one)-attribute differences from other ponies—File:Crystal Pony mare 7 S3E02.png differing in coat color from "Paradise" and "Arctic Lily" (the latter of these two being in minor-difference-limbo herself), File:Ivory gold-maned ID S3E02.png (as you pointed out) differing in mane color from "Ivory"—yet appearing simultaneously with the ponies that they appear to be variants of. Cutie Mark Acquisition Program

I don't understand the purpose of Project:Workshop/Cutie marks/Acquisitions. Those should all already be covered on the individual characters' pages, and I don't see the benefit of listing them all together, as there isn't really any common aspect to be compared among them. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:48, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

Then, maybe it should be merged into the list of cutie marks; I'll add Template:Merge onto that Workshop page. (7)6(four) (talk) 22:30, July 4, 2014 (UTC)
List of cutie marks needs an overhaul anyway, a plain text list isn't all that useful. That would be one way to improve it. But I wasn't really suggesting a change, just was wondering what your intention was in creating that workshop page. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 23:21, July 4, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, well, I just thought it might be good to compile those stories. (7)6(four) (talk) 01:16, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
To slightly derail this discussion, I can get cutie mark images used in the mobile game (pulled straight from the game files), though I won't comment on timeliness, since it'll require me to convert the files to an image format I can work with in an image editor, identify each pony (made harder by the fact that the files in question are the raw skin/texture files), and then cut out the cutie mark and save them separately. It is something I'd planned on doing at some point, regardless, though. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:22, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

If he's serious, I hope it's a villain like Chrysalis or Sombra. Rainbow Power

For further elaboration on my edit summary (because I didn't have enough space for it), you have to read Twilight's Kingdom - Part 2#Rainbow Power, Magic#Rainbow Power, and Tirek#Depiction of the series. None of them used the term "Rainbow Power" for the magic acquired from the chest. In the case of the first two, when they are used, they were only for the title of one of their sections.  Sunset_Shimmer_happy.png Golden Bluebird Sunset_Shimmer_cutie_mark.png 16:13, February 26, 2015 (UTC)

Used for section titles because of being official, so it isn't limited to section title use. Re: Another official source

I must admit that one would have me convinced (and send me into a rage about being cheated out of my deal), except for the fact that people continue to think King Sombra is still alive after Meghan McCarthy said he was dead, and when I told them he is definitely dead, they said I can't force them to think he is. So if they can think Sombra survived when Meghan said otherwise, I can think Chrysalis is dead when Jim Miller (ironically the voice of Sombra) said otherwise.

Besides, he sounds like he's using the comics as basis for that (if a hardcore Chrysalis lover didn't bribe him to say it), and I'll say, even if Twilight blasts Chrysalis to oblivion at the end of her Fiendship is Magic issue (I did hear Chrysalis's backstory was pretty dark), the plot hole "The changelings were scattered in all directions in the show, with only one flying in the same direction as Chrysalis, yet they all land in the same place" is overwhelming and would prevent me from taking them as canon.

And of course I won't force anyone else to share my opinions on Chrysalis or Sombra, I'll just stand by my headcanon as "Team Sombra Survived" will forever stand by theirs Ghostkaiba297 (talk) 20:37, April 20, 2015 (UTC)

  • Which deal made with whom?
  • Meghan McCarthy's statement of Sombra being dead came before FIENDship is Magic Issue 1 was created, somewhat similarly to how Lauren Faust's statement of Prince Blueblood having no official name on the show came before The Best Night Ever was released.
  • Of course people—including me and you—are free to think anything, but it's still incorrect to think of something as being different than it actually is (such as thinking of Chrysalis as being dead even though she officially isn't dead).
(7)6(four) (talk) 21:22, April 20, 2015 (UTC)
As far as Sombra goes, Fiendship is Magic depicts him as a ghost tied to his horn, and ghosts are the spirits of dead people. So even going by that comic (which has plot holes in terms of Amore's cutie mark) he's dead. King Sombra is dead as officially as Chrysalis isn't.
As for the deal, I did not specifically make a deal with anypony but I really wanted Chrysalis and Sombra dead so I felt that the "price" for getting my wish with them was for the series to not kill off any more villains. But like I said, even if Fiendship is Magic sees Chrysalis killed at the end (which will no doubt return to the present day events, as it begins with the Mane 6 visiting the imprisoned Chrysalis), the "scattered changelings" plot hole is overwhelming so I couldn't take it as canon if I wanted to. Queen Chrysalis

Just thought you might like to know, on a wiki I created, someone removed Darth Maul from the deathlist, saying that Clone Wars is considered canon now so he didn't die. If that's the case I FanonDiscontinuity Clone Wars because Darth Maul will always be dead to me after Obi-Wan chopped him in two and sent him falling down the shaft. However, I did not put him back on the deathlist, why? To be professional, because if Clone Wars is considered to be canon, then doing so for my personal emotions would be abusing my position of power as admin and founder of that wiki.

Just thought you'd like to know, as I still think Chrysalis's article is acting too in-universe to say that she definitely survived by changing "status" to "survival" and mentioning canon in it when canon is too in-universe to even be mentioned on this wiki. As for what Jim Miller said, even if no one bribed him to say it he was using the comics as basis for that, and moments later they contradicted the show with the whole dragon/lava thing, which makes the Chrysalis comics non-canon now. Plus, if people can say King Sombra survived when the writer of the episode said otherwise, I can say Chrysalis is dead when Sombra's voice actor said otherwise. Discussion on Derpibooru about pony names turns to mentioning the wiki

Perhaps you'd like to chime in with your opinion on the latest things that have been said? (page 2) Dogman15 (talk) 05:06, December 8, 2015 (UTC)

Well, contrary to the claim that "even when a fan name is adapted into merch they’ll pretend that it originated there", Category:Fan-named characters does exist, though not every character who belongs in that category is categorized in it (due whether to not yet having a dedicated article/redirect or to simply being overlooked) and a number of characters in that category don't have their names' fan-origination noted in-article (which sometimes is due to obscurity of the characters themselves); examples of cases that are exclusions are when a fan-name-made-official was already official in a different context (such as being the name of an earlier-generation My Little Pony character) and when a new official name is noticeably-similar-to-yet-distinct-from an old fan name. (7)6(four) (talk) 10:11, December 8, 2015 (UTC)
Here is Vree's response to you (you should make an account on Derpibooru, so things don't get cluttered here):
OK, let me give you an example.
The name the fandom generally knows the blue dog pony by is "Screwloose" .
After one Enterplay card called her "Screwy", MLP Wiki has changed the name to that and any reference to the fan name has been removed.
Yet the fan name remains widespread, while Screwy a name that virtually nobody uses.
However, you could never find out that information just by looking at the MLP Wiki.
Understand that, according to MLP Wiki policy, literally any merchandise of a character MUST take precedence over fan names.
This is even the case if the source is unreliable/subject to change or unknown to most people.
I’m nor saying that they couldn’t keep track of prevalent fan names; I’m saying that they intentionally don’t.
As for Throwy’s question on your last link: Couldn’t a lot of imageboards simply give you a record of since when a name tag has been used? Ponibooru no longer exists, but its Pbooru archive does (warning: nsfw ads), and Derpibooru goes back to 2012 which should be enough to confirm many of the names. There are also other sites, Bronibooru for example has existed since 2011-03-06.
Example: our first Mayor Mare picture >>221 has existed for 4 years and Tag Changes shows that its "mayor mare" tag was added along with the upload, which would clearly predate the first Mayor Mare trading card >>26786 from 3 years ago.
Another simple method is checking the History of the article on the MLP Fan wiki .
Since unlike MLP Wiki, they Do record fan names, it’s an even easier way to confirm that a name exited at a point in time.
(end quote from Vree) Dogman15 (talk) 06:09, December 9, 2015 (UTC)
I thought Derpibooru posting didn't require an account; either way, I don't think I'm going to post there (but if minimizing clutter is an objective, quoting isn't worth the trouble). Anyway, Screwy#See also would refer to Screwy('s fan name) on the Fan Wiki; it's just that she doesn't have a page or list entry to link to over there yet. Also, regarding people not using official names and/or people not knowing about official sources, isn't that comparable to, for example, people believing this pony to be a hind-legs amputee (disconfirmed already in Leap of Faith and further in Equestria Games) and/or people believing this pony's cutie mark of three suns to instead be of a lyre (disconfirmable by comparing/contrasting her appearance with like-positioned appearances of ponies such as Merry May and Lyra Heartstrings)? And I don't see how an official name's source could be so unreliable/subject to change that it wouldn't still outclass any unofficial fan name(s). (7)6(four) (talk) 17:14, December 9, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Jim Miller

You know he said that in response to a question about killing Rarity or Fluttershy. He meant main characters or long-running/non-villain characters (such as Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Discord, Starlight, Trixie, etc.), not one-shot villains. Not that I don't think Hasbro would let DHX kill Rarity if they wanted do, but DHX would never do such a thing. Pony design sharing

Hi! It's been a while, good to see you're still around. I saw sections like Eiffel#Design and it inspired my late-night boredom - do you use any kind of database other than your mind to find all the characters with matching designs? I was thinking it would be a lot easier to generate and maintain these sections with the help of one, instead of fully manual. Databases don't fit in too well on the user side of wikis, but I have some ideas. I'm sure Lua has something we could use, and it has the additional advantage of being a full language that generates wikitext at the time the page is saved. But until I bother seeing if it can do what I need and actually learning it, I was thinking we could at least keep some kind of central list somewhere, just to make it a bit easier. Though that might be too much overhead for not enough gain in efficiency (AKA my specialty); a non-wiki solution would probably be preferable. What do you think? Maybe you have a better idea to channel any boredom at? :P Happy editing, ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 06:50, August 17, 2016 (UTC)

Just this wiki and the material itself. I have thought of (but never got around to suggesting) listing characters by attribute design and using a generator for design sections; it'd definitely help. (7)6(four) (talk) 16:50, August 17, 2016 (UTC)
Cool. Do you have any preference on the format? I definitely think design-centric would be easier to maintain; each entry (mane style, tail style, etc) could have an example image accompanying it, as well as some kind of name to make it easier to find. I could write a script to take care of any parsing and comparison, e.g. finding full design matches. Characters would be listed under each design they have, with a description of how often they have that design. I think it would be easiest if each character entry were just a link as it would be formatted on a page linking to that character (with quotes as necessary). Then I think I would just have to figure out a priority for different types of matches. In general for the format I was thinking along the lines of MediaWiki:Emoticons, having nested bullet points. But I'm thinking more computer-oriented for script purposes; do you have better suggestions that would aid human editors? Or any other comments? I'll work on an example we can shape. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:15, August 18, 2016 (UTC)
Do you only match ponies with the same gender as well as same species? I was using Eiffel as an example and noticed there were only female ponies in some of the cutie mark matches. Anyway, I created a page with some ideas about the format (sorry for the minor wall of text :P): User:Bobogoobo/sandbox/PonyDesign. What do you think of this, how can I make it easier to use or more useful? I figured putting species on the same line as the name instead of requiring a 3-bullet line for every pony would be easier. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 02:50, August 18, 2016 (UTC)
Matching is independent of gender and such; cutie marks are the most easily gender-neutral, but others happen (for example, the tail match of S06E11 Unnamed Earth Stallion #1 and Derpy, etc.). Regarding different types of pages, I think that "only full design sharing" pages shouldn't be a type; their undetailed design coverage is simply in need of expansion (it's kinda a counterpart problem to lacking details on pages later, with longer-existing pages missing more matches). (7)6(four) (talk) 05:09, August 18, 2016 (UTC)
Understood, makes sense. Any comments on the format, parts that could be less annoying to edit? I'll try to start brewing up some code tomorrow and see what I run into. If you notice any situations I left out, that would be helpful too. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 05:41, August 18, 2016 (UTC)
Only some of the character lists' contents are alphabetized; I'd recommend that the character lists' contents each be alphabetized. (7)6(four) (talk) 06:04, August 18, 2016 (UTC)
Makes sense. If you're curious, you can see what I have so far here. If you enter Test Mode, you can use the functionality I've added so far (a few basic inputs at the bottom of the page). It will output to the browser console, though it isn't very human-readable. Feel free to play with the data and add more ponies, having more to test on is good. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some basic output for you to look at. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 05:48, August 19, 2016 (UTC)

I've now completed almost all of the basic functionality. The main things I have yet to complete are cutie mark specification in the output, designs being shared only sometimes, and handling the "set" tags. It would be helpful if you want to add more ponies to the list, maybe test some of them, and let me know of any errors or ways the interface could be better. Feel free to recruit anyone else who might be interested as well, I know there are quite a lot of characters to be added. Until the current revision is approved you'll need to enable test mode from the code page to have the current version of the script run on the page. Thanks, ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 03:53, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

oh really.Pokemonmastercb (talk) 07:05, September 6, 2016 (UTC)

Is it really necessary?

Do you honestly have to keep pushing "comics are definitely canon" on conversations that don't really involve you? If you have an explanation for the plot holes in the comics and say they share the same universe as the show, go ahead, nothing wrong with that, but do you have to constantly try to force everyone else to go along with it? You've done this every single time I've had a talkpage conversation with someone else (like Elunalis or Pokemonmastercb, who acknowledged the comics and said he doesn't consider them canon) and mentioned the comic differences, and I really don't like it.

Even with my age-old "Chrysalis is dead" (and I still think the "survival" section was directed at me), I've said I think she's dead and I don't think she could have survived, and casually speak of her as dead, and I admit there are times when I say it too much (and in the past might have taken it a little too far), but I say it's my headcanon and respect those who think she's alive (just like one such person respects my headcanon), whether or not they go by comics as canon. And you even raised the issue during the brief period I thought Chrysalis was alive, when of course it was Chrysalis's status debate that started the whole thing.

If nothing else, we get to decide for ourselves whether the comics are canon, just like so far it's up for us to decide what we think Chrysalis's current status or whereabouts are.

And I hope this doesn't sound rude (I am very annoyed right now), but is there a single villain that had ever "officially" died in any show? KillRoy231 (talk) 02:40, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry if I sounded too aggressive there, but can't we just think what we want about the comics and other tie-ins? Like, any of us can think the Equestria Girls movies are canon or non-canon if we want to (I go with canon in their case). KillRoy231 (talk) 02:43, September 7, 2016 (UTC)
See the third bullet point of my 21:22, April 20, 2015 (UTC) reply here at #Re: Another official source. (7)6(four) (talk) 05:50, September 7, 2016 (UTC)
The wiki's point is to go along with official material (canon or not), right?
("Survival" sections were made in response to plenitude of comments, but not specifically to change your mind; they help inform wiki-readers who otherwise may be more likely to be misled by inaccurate comments.) You don't always clarify—at least not fully—when what you're speaking of is headcanon as opposed to fact.
No, we don't "get to decide for ourselves whether the comics are canon" (Andy Price's DeviantArt journals have long since been overturned by his tweet). "Ultimately, canon is up to the storytellers", said Lauren Faust (this applies in a non-MLP-specific general sense).
Of course some shows (and other works) have villains (and non-villains) with official deaths. But merely-presumable deaths don't count; for a My Little Pony Friendship is Magic example, out of the twelve Fortress of Talacon ponies, nine of them—S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #3, S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #5, S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #6, S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #7, S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #8, S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #12, S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #13, "Temple Chant", and S04E04 Unnamed Earth Stallion #15—most recently appear inside the fortress before it collapses in Daring Don't, leaving their fate(s) ambiguous. (7)6(four) (talk) 05:50, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

i have no idea what your talking about i wasn't trying to force nothing on nobody.Pokemonmastercb (talk) 06:18, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

@Pokemonmastercb I wasn't talking to you. I was referring to this user jumping into conversations that didn't involve him with nothing useful to contribute to the conversation other than trying to force people to think the same way as him.
@(7)6(four) This is getting very tiring. How would you feel if I kept track of every talkpage you commented on, and every time Chrysalis was mentioned, said "Chrysalis is definitely dead, you can't think otherwise?" Even now we know she's alive in the show, what if I repeatedly said "Season 6 is non-canon and you have to think that way so she's definitely dead"?
The wiki recognizes official material and doesn't recognize the term "canon", except on Chrysalis's page just to stress that she must still be alive and that my headcanon was wrong, and I honestly think you were surprised that she did return. So, for that reason, the wiki's official articles can't list Sombra as dead any more than Chrysalis. But that doesn't mean people can't have our own views on canon and interpret everything based on what we've seen or read. It is a fictional universe, after all.
And even if we don't have the freedom to decide whether the comics are canon or not, there are quite a few plot holes that the changeling episodes this season have generated:
  • Changelings come from eggs in the show, while they were spit out by a tree in the comics
  • The changelings have the one kingdom in the show (evidenced by Thorax), while they turned the cat city into their kingdom in the comics
  • In the comics - which, last I checked, still depicted the CMC as blank flanks - Chrysalis flies across the sea assuming Equestria was destroyed by the Umbrum, never to return, while in the show, she's still in the changeling kingdom in the Badlands, until the other changelings reform and she flies off to seek her revenge. And they make no reference to the comic events.
  • To Sombra-related stuff now, Princess Amore's cutie mark is a crystalline heart according to the writers' book, while in the comics it is a snowflake
  • Sombra was unwilling to kill someone who deliberately caused him pain in the comics, but in the show he licked his lips as he was about to impale a baby dragon who was just in the way
  • To Nightmare Rarity: The Cutie Remark and Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep establish clearly that Luna and Nightmare Moon are one and the same, but the comics say she originated as an evil spirit from the moon who is clearly separate from Luna and Rarity. And guess what - Spike kills her.
I'd like to say this conclusively means the comics are non-canon, or at least set in a parallel universe, but since I respect the opinions of others, I'll say this: If you want to go by comics as canon you can find your own explanation for the plot holes, however much of a stretch they may seem, and keep it as your headcanon. (I've had some pretty stretchy headcanons myself I'm not going to reveal)
All your comments are amounting to is trying to annoy me and tell me one of the three things I really asked for in this show (and one of the two they did, other being something I won't mention on your page, and the one that has yet to be done being Chrysalis's death or redemption), the one time the show actually showed some backbone, never happened, and I feel this, as well as the "Survival" section on Chrysalis's page - even though it turned out she actually did survive - was done out of spite for me because you can't respect my opinion. If you were merely annoyed at me for constantly saying Chrysalis and Sombra were dead, fine, maybe I did say it too much back then, but that doesn't mean you should spam "Sombra is alive" on conversations that don't involve you. (But if you want to add something useful and friendly to someone else's conversation, you can)
And even if what you say about "comics are definitely canon" is true, at the very most we're FanonDiscontinuitying the comics, and if that's what we want to do, let us, it isn't really any of your business. We could FanonDiscontinuity a season if we wanted to, and if anyone said "Seasons 3 and above are non-canon to me", I'd personally disagree but I wouldn't argue. Just saw your "Survival section" clearly for the first time, maybe I was being too harsh saying that was done out of spite, but still, with all the comic stuff I mentioned - and the comics are hard to find anyway so if someone wants to read them it might be difficult for them - Chrysalis's survival in the show wasn't officially confirmed until To Where and Back Again, though hinted at in The Times They Are A Changeling.
And I'll take this moment to say, yes you were right that Chrysalis survived, I can't deny it unless I decided to FanonDiscontinuity Season 6, which I won't because it had too much good to it, but nothing in the show has confirmed Sombra's survival, and the writer of the episode said he was dead. KillRoy231 (talk) 00:00, November 11, 2016 (UTC)
The comics can be found online, whether purchased or pirated.
Nothing in the show confirms Sombra's status either way; the comics, which are approved by Hasbro, take precedence over Meghan McCarthy's statement, which wasn't necessarily approved by Hasbro and may have been as little as an on-the-spot joke. (7)6(four) (talk) 14:55, November 11, 2016 (UTC)
And if it honestly wasn't your intention to spite me and make me feel bad - I never asked for my unusual set of interests and they're getting rarer and rarer to be seen, and I especially like to see them in kid-friendly shows so Sombra's death was one of the most powerful moments of the show for me - then I sincerely apologize for accusing you. But if it was your intention, please stop. KillRoy231 (talk) 01:55, November 11, 2016 (UTC)
Even though my pointing out of Sombra's survival also points out your loss of one of the most powerful moments of the show for you, my intention isn't to make you feel bad about MLP not meeting your interest(s) as much. (7)6(four) (talk) 14:55, November 11, 2016 (UTC)
Chrysalis wouldn't be "definitely dead" even if no official material disambiguated her then-ambiguous exit from A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2.
Canon is mentioned on multiple pages of this wiki (It's a Pony Kind of Christmas#Production, Alicorns, Adagio Dazzle#Development and design).
Regarding perceived plot holes:
Canon can include plot holes (with or without explanation); they may be bad for it, but it can have them.
See also Frontdoor6's accusation of me spiting.
It isn't good to treat fanon discontinuity as more than fanon, such as seriously saying "she'd have to manipulate Luna and Discord back to evil, resurrect Sombra, and re-empower Tirek after breaking him out of Tartarus" (instead of clarifying or more accurately saying "she'd have to manipulate Luna, Discord, and Sombra back to evil and re-empower Tirek after breaking him out of Tartarus") or—for an extreme example from GamerBoi42 Internationaldenying the in-episode factuality of in-episode fact. (7)6(four) (talk) 14:55, November 11, 2016 (UTC)
I will say those are good points you can make about the plot holes. Haven't read Ponies of Dark Water yet though, what happens there?
Still, I think it's wrong to suggest that comics take precedent over writers' statements. IDW comics are essentially fanfiction that's licensed to be put on the market. True, Hasbro owns the franchise, which includes both show and comics, but DHX decides what's what in the show, and their word is Word of God. Now if you want comics to be canon and/or Sombra to still live, you can either disregard her statement as many have, or go with the idea that Sombra returned as a ghost and was revived by Hope, which I say is the case in the comics.
That being said, Sombra's death was definite, the way I see it, unless the new writers decide to say he survived in a future episode, which would disregard the comics since the show never really makes reference to their events. Where Chrysalis's supposed death, back when I thought she was dead due to her long fall and prolonged absence, was, as you said, more "presumed" or "debatable" because it was never confirmed. I could have kept that headcanon if she'd never returned. Sooner or later my headcanons for Tirek and the Dazzlings will die too (the damnation and No Immortal Inertia ones), but I hope to at least keep the Sombra thing. (Though if it helps, I did read that arc and was hoping for his redemption there)
People could Discontinuity the Equestria Girls movies too. I don't, but they could. It might not be the best thing to do, sure, but if they feel strongly about disliking it too much (like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), and it's the only way to feel better about it, let them. It'll be their headcanon, which isn't really "canon" but it's what they go by.
One last thing, and I haven't found the source so I can't back it up, but ask Crimson "Valent" Azure sometime where he got this from, that Meghan said the comics are canon but set in a separate universe. So, we could compare it to the new Star Trek series. If this is backed up, you can disregard that if you really want them to be set in the same universe.
And I was able to accept Chrysalis's survival (though I feel really depressed she's gonna keep flying away and get away with everything, double for the comics where she killed the kitten and is now across the sea), as well as something else that might have caused me to FanonDiscontinuity the season. And I will FanonDiscontinuity everything after Chrysalis's return in Season 7 if there's no episodes I really like, if they throw away all that potential I mentioned, or even all of Season 7 if there is no Chrysalis plus everything else. Season 7 will officially be "canon" but I'll put it out of my headcanon, just my personal opinion.
Anyway, we'll both stand by what we believe and nothing one of us says will convince the other to turn aside from it, and like Rainbow Dash and Quibble Pants's preferences for Daring Do, that's all right and neither of us needs to.
So, you say your intent isn't to spite me and I believe you. But if you say the Gabby Gums rumor of Fluttershy using tail extensions is true - I'm now confident telling you Rarity biting a tail was the other thing I asked for - I might question this again. (I am one of the least demanding fans of the show)
On a side note, so Chrysalis is returning in the comics? Must be set in the Griffon Kingdom, hopefully before she can drive them to extinction like the sparkly-eyed ponies. If you know that much about them, would you be able to keep me posted on what happens in there? (If she is "defeated" or imprisoned there, specifics on how?) I'd greatly appreciate it
Ah, I remember when I first heard of the comics I was thinking they'd give Chrysalis her final fate and wanted to see them as canon, though it was difficult to even when I wanted to. For a split second I wanted to do it again. Anyway, maybe it's your responses but I'm feeling much calmer now. KillRoy231 (talk) 00:38, November 12, 2016 (UTC)
See Ponies of Dark Water#Summary.
Even for the show, it's Hasbro who's "got the final say on anything." DHX works "with what Hasbro approves."
Friends Forever Issue 13 foreshadowed Bloom & Gloom.
I'm reminded of this.
Was User blog comment:KillRoy231/Chrysalis and Sombra - Let It Go!/@comment-Crimson "Valent" Azure-20150909023712 when you were first told?
Neither a cat nor necessarily killed.
We don't wanna be like this, heh.
I don't feel like speculating in either direction about that or other Gabby Gums rumors.
According to Applejack, "Queen Chrysalis is attacking the Crystal Empire!" You can follow My Little Pony: Guardians of Harmony (comics), etc.
Whether or not it's from my responses, good that you're feeling calmer. (7)6(four) (talk) 03:17, November 12, 2016 (UTC)
To the Chrysalis and Sombra blog: Yes that was when I was first told.
So we know Hasbro has to approve each episode. Apparently they're less fussy about what they would approve since Testing, Testing, 1 2 3 (at which point, or even as far back as Season 2, they were less so than Season 1). They also don't seem to mind things that would seemingly contradict the comics unless you work hard to come up with explanations as you have (though I forgot to mention the dragon/lava thing). Though as the ones who actually write the show, DHX's word is still WordOfGod, but if you want to disregard that, I won't try to stop you.
So Guardians of Harmony is adapted into a comic series, not an episode. That means that's where Spikezilla and Twilight vs. Chrysalis (for the third time, then), will take place. Thank you for the link and I'll follow that to see if they finally give the comics' Chrysalis what's coming to her. KillRoy231 (talk) 22:16, November 12, 2016 (UTC)
Basically, Hasbro makes the out-of-universe decisions, and DHX makes the in-universe decisions. KillRoy231 (talk) 22:16, November 12, 2016 (UTC)
(User talk:Pokemonmastercb#Re: Sombra—"not all lava is the same".) "The scripts are written at Hasbro studios."
Guardians of Harmony is also adapted into an online game.
"Hasbro has a say" "in which direction the show or anything else goes". (7)6(four) (talk) 01:55, November 13, 2016 (UTC)

G3 ponies in FiM #46

File:Comic issue 46 page 4.jpg

Are the ponies on the bottom of this page from G3? If they are, I can't quite place them. (I believe the one of the left is Cotton Candy.) Can you verify? ImperfectXIII Wiki signature.png FANMADE ImperfectXIII OC pixel animation.gif 14:18, September 23, 2016 (UTC)

Looking at both this page and that page:
  • "You can't prevent an earthquake!" does have the colors of G3 Cotton Candy (whose G4 counterpart is mentioned in Hasbro's online Party Planner), but her cutie mark doesn't match
  • "What’ll happen the next time?!" appears to lack a cutie mark
  • "Is this administration accountable?" reminds me of G4 Rainbow Swirl (rather than her G3 counterpart)
I'm not familiar enough with G3 to say for sure. (7)6(four) (talk) 16:42, September 23, 2016 (UTC)
I see. Thanks for the input. ImperfectXIII Wiki signature.png FANMADE ImperfectXIII OC pixel animation.gif 17:43, September 23, 2016 (UTC)

I would say that the previous royalty page could be merged with the royalty page, or I atleast say Spike should be put on the royalty page because he is technically a prince being found and raised by Princess Celestia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Finnbo1998 (talkcontribs)

Is this officially about an upcoming episode? If so, then yay, I have nothing to fear anymore except the show ending up like Pokemon. KillRoy231 (talk) 05:46, October 16, 2016 (UTC)

Guardians of Harmony comics

I checked the page, which I bookmarked, for an update and it's been deleted. Meaning there aren't going to be Guardians of Harmony comics, so the comics' Chrysalis is not going to return as far as we know. Or is there something I'm missing? KillRoy231 (talk) 20:13, November 23, 2016 (UTC)

Gameloft characters' house names

Hey, so for the past few months I've been editing the workshop lists for the MLP mobile game characters and I need your help. I look at the History on several character pages that have appear in the app, like Mane Goodall and Bright Smile, and happen to find that you are the one who wrote the game descriptions for those characters (via: classic editor and comparing the past edits; for ex: Silver Spanner). So I was wondering: would you tell me the name of the houses for the following missing characters on the Workshop pages? Because I have a feeling that since you're the one who wrote those descriptions, that might mean you also have those characters as well. Thanks:

--TheClydesdalePegasus149 (talk) 03:57, January 8, 2017 (UTC)

I don't have the game, but if another wiki's Houses and Ponies pages are accurate (if not up-to-date):
Since those pages of that wiki haven't been updated since early October 2016, Snowdash and Snowfall Frost are among the characters unfortunately missing from coverage there... (7)6(four) (talk) 07:08, January 8, 2017 (UTC)
Cool, a website that have most of the character informations in the game. I'm going to check that out. It's alright that you don't have the game, because I manage to have the descriptions for most of the characters that was added on Update 3.2. As for Snowfall and Snowdash (whose I find their descriptions from this video), I might as well continue to search throughout the web and watch several Youtube videos until I could find their house's name. Thanks for your help anyway. You're awesome! --TheClydesdalePegasus149 (talk) 19:41, January 8, 2017 (UTC)

Hey (7)6(four), had a Gameloft game related question for you. I notice that you added info to Commander Ironhead's listing in List of ponies/Pegasus ponies indicating that he's a playable character in the game; do you happen to know which residential area he's assigned to?--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 21:39, January 22, 2018 (UTC)

Seems to be Ponyville. (7)6(four) (talk) 03:41, January 23, 2018 (UTC)
Much obliged.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 21:24, January 23, 2018 (UTC)

Don't suppose you're aware of any characters released in the latest update? I know Pharynx's original form is one, but haven't found info on any others.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 21:49, February 8, 2018 (UTC)

These? (7)6(four) (talk) 04:11, February 9, 2018 (UTC)
Cool-any help you can give me in updating the Workshop pages for the game would be much appreciated.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 04:52, February 9, 2018 (UTC)

What's the Idea

I was just trying to put in a character page.

How come you were keeping me from completing it?Austin012599 (talk) 04:19, April 3, 2017 (UTC)

A page as uncompleted as "Braze is a villainous zebra who was the main antagonist of Rainbow Dash and the Daring Do Double Dare" (shorter than the list entry I redirected that Braze page to) is too short to qualify for inclusion on the main wiki namespace. I wasn't aware of your intention to expand it, but the place for starting from a too-short page would be My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Wiki:Workshop; you can request for the page to be moved into the Workshop, but that should only be done if there is potential for expansion enough. (7)6(four) (talk) 06:02, April 3, 2017 (UTC)

Oh. Thank you.Austin012599 (talk) 12:41, April 3, 2017 (UTC)

I understand you really love the comics and want to go by them as canon. That's your decision and I respect that. But, can you try in turn to respect that some of us don't? (saying this in a calm, friendly way)

A writer of the comics said we have the freedom to decide. I heard Meghan McCarthy said they're their own separate universe but I haven't found the text or video of it. Hasbro did say they go by them as canon until the show says otherwise, but a.) Hasbro's only control over the story of the episodes and comics is approving them (and what they said implies they have no control over whether an episode contradicts the comics, meaning the bigger power of canon lies with DHX), and b.) There are a few inconsistencies.

But, it is fun to come up with explanations for them, as I'm sure you have. So, since your Storm King comment did seem to be a huge improvement over the Sombra ones, I'm just a little curious to know, what are your explanations for these? (again, asking in a friendly way, not an annoyed way)

  1. Sombra's personality being different. (In the show he licked his lips as he was about to kill Spike for being in his way, but in the comics he couldn't bring himself to kill one who had deliberately caused him years of pain for a flimsy reason, and reformed pretty quickly)
  2. Amore's cutie mark being different. (Comics have it a snowflake, but the book by one of the writers of the show, which takes precedent over the comics, said it's a crystal heart like Cadance's)
  3. Dragons and lava. (In the show dragons are lavaproof, in the comics Chrysalis knocks the dragon Sergio into the lava which causes him intense pain and possibly kills him)
  4. Nightmare Moon. (In the comics she's established to have originated as a separate entity from the moon, but later in the show it is specified she and Luna are one and the same, with Luna remorseful for what she did as Nightmare Moon, and alternate future Nightmare Moon referring to Celestia as "my sister")
  5. The Umbrum. (In the comics Sombra unleashes them as soon as he can, but in the alternate future in the show, Sombra does something completely different and there is no mention of Umbrum)
  6. Chrysalis. (In the show she refers to replacing Cadance as "last time" when, if the comics took place, there would have been two separate attacks before then, also she turns the cat city into a changeling kingdom, when it's already established they have a completely different kingdom that Thorax remembers from before the Canterlot attack)

I'm really interested to hear them. (After all, I have my own headcanons, and not just for MLP) I will respect them and not argue. Just, in turn let those of us who go by the comics as non-canon or an alternate universe, continue to do so in peace. (Besides, some of us would like to have something ready in case anyone in the theater gives us lip, and this particularly means a lot to an exceptionally kind pegasister who's going through a rough time) KillRoy231 (talk) 06:07, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

And I'm NOT trying to convince you that they're not canon, I'm just curious as to your explanations for them. KillRoy231 (talk) 17:37, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
Actually, I don't even know whether I like My Little Pony (the franchise itself: toys, show, films, comics, storybooks, etc.)—and no, not in response to any of its changes or fandom reaction thereto; I simply fell behind with keeping up years ago, didn't remember whether I liked it, and still haven't bothered to catch up (other than looking into things for the sake of wiki contribution).
"DHX gives notes on scripts, along with Hasbro and the story editors, but the final say with all lies with Hasbro."
Jim Miller,
Several of them have already been answered (some on more than one occasion; how many times must they be repeated?), and they're suggestions rather than necessarily headcanons, but anyway:
  1. Given the brevity of the in-show part, perhaps a moment of irrationality and/or poor judgment?
  2. Potentially the same as whatever reason for other cutie mark differences; see #Is it really necessary? ("'multiple characters (Soarin, Prince Blueblood, plenty of background ponies, etc.) have had their cutie marks differ even within the show'").
  3. Already answered on more than one occasion; see #Is it really necessary? ("'not all lava is the same'").
  4. What about Legends of Magic Issue 1?
  5. Talk:King Sombra/@comment-Wizeman-20170502013850/@comment-Guildmaster Grovyle-20170502024447?
  6. First part, "last time" isn't explicitly identified, so perhaps an unseen attempt also involving one ponynapped princess? Second part, already answered; see #Is it really necessary? ("What Wuvy-Dovey Smoochy Land became wasn't necessarily the main part of the Changeling Kingdom").
Also, if someone's only defense wouldn't work without headcanon, then it isn't true defense. (I dunno who this "exceptionally kind pegasister who's going through a rough time" is.) (7)6(four) (talk) 18:42, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
My apologies, I'm getting old and my memory's not what it used to be. I might forget again next year, but if other users I talk to go by the comics as canon, they'll say so and thus that they think the evil kings still live. Though, I think as far as Meghan's concerned, he is dead or else she'd have left it at him being turned to stone, and not had Twilight save Tempest from the same fate. But if you go by the comics as canon, he is likely still alive and in a state worse than death. Depending on what was done with the pieces (likely swept up and thrown in the trash and, whatever happens from there).
And, "final say with all" means for the content of the episodes and the comics, as to whether they'll approve them or veto them. But, true to my word, I'll respect your explanations for the inconsistencies and not argue with them. (Besides, I bet the comics bring the Storm King back. Funny - they're more squeamish about killing villains but less so about both NSFW content (referring to that one Rarity scene, though that particular comic did kill Nightmare Moon) and the brutal slaughter of adorable kittens. Most kid-friendly shows, including the MLP show, are the other way around, with good reason, I don't know how Hasbro approved either of those two scenes in the comics) KillRoy231 (talk) 02:53, September 2, 2017 (UTC)

Re: A Health of Information

Well... thanks, I guess? So, I'll at least have that to look forward to. If I decide to finish Season 7. KillRoy231 (talk) 16:37, September 24, 2017 (UTC)

So does this mean you accept my interests now? If so, thank you. If you don't mind me asking, what would your thoughts be on Chrysalis's status if she gets completely disintegrated in the Season 8 premier and we never see her again? KillRoy231 (talk) 16:41, September 24, 2017 (UTC)

Regarding question 1 of 2: it doesn't mean anything in particular; judging your interests isn't my intention. Regarding question 2 of 2: "never" may always be subject to change when it's fictional; any work(s) of fiction could potentially receive continuation (even long after having ended). (7)6(four) (talk) 19:32, September 24, 2017 (UTC)
Well, fwiw, a.) If Chrysalis dies for real, I know you won't be the only one who believes she's still alive. Evil never dies in the eyes of everyone but me. And b.) On that note, I do not think the Storm King dies in the movie. Even if his "defeat" plays out the same way, from the book and the trailers he comes off as too comical to die. I suspect that both a.) Obsidian Orbs are only temporary on Storm Creatures, and b.) Storm Creatures can regenerate as well as the T-1000 or Super Buu (or even Piccolo, who came back from something similar). So, I'm 99% sure there will be a postcredits scene revealing he survived, regardless of whether the comics with Amore are to have any impact on the physics of turning to stone/crystal and being smashed to pieces. KillRoy231 (talk) 20:02, September 24, 2017 (UTC)
I didn't say I'd believe anything specific about Chrysalis in that hypothetical situation; I wouldn't bother forming an opinion—in either direction—because fiction is variable (and not necessarily consistent with itself, whether within one work or between multiple works). This impermanence is universal, applying regardless of what a character's moral alignment is. (7)6(four) (talk) 20:47, September 24, 2017 (UTC)
Well no one attempted to debate Applejack's parents' deaths, because they aren't villains. Judging my interests may not have been your intention, but a lot of people do, and it's on that most of them keep telling me that my favorite element never happened in this show. Everyone here probably thinks Arimaspi survived.
Whatever I said before, they're probably not wrong. It's been so long since I was last satisfied I don't even know what satisfaction feels like anymore. Sorry if I'm sounding negative, I'm just really lonely, insecure, and depressed, as well as old and tired. (And I have been seeing a doctor) KillRoy231 (talk) 21:06, September 24, 2017 (UTC)

Again, fiction isn't necessarily consistent with itself. Think of it this way, okay: if "this is a continuity error, but it doesn't invalidate the work(s) it's from" applies to animation errors, then it'd also apply to narrative errors (whether within one work or between multiple works). Shadow Lock

Hey (7)6(four), was wondering if you might be able to help me out. I notice that you started up the Ponyacci page, which is a pretty stellar example of an article focused on a comics-exclusive character. Having successfully seen said page from the Workshop stage all the way through publication, I was wondering if you could give me some tips on the Shadow Lock article I currently have in the Workshop. It's got the copyediting template set into it, but at this point I'm at a loss as to what I can do to improve it. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate hearing them; I hate to see the page just sitting in the Workshop when it seems ready to be published.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 00:58, April 27, 2018 (UTC)

More credit for the work goes to ImperfectXIII; pages I create tend to start as barebones blueprints and generally stay that way until others flesh them out. (7)6(four) (talk) 01:43, April 27, 2018 (UTC)
Gotcha; well, I've tried asking Imperfect for help, but never really gotten any response on it. Wonderbolts Academy

Asking this here so I don't get the forum discussion off-topic, but does Wonderbolts Academy still count as an unantagonistic role for Lightning Dust? I thought that ambox was only there because it was never really decided whether it did or not, and a conclusion was never reached until an unambiguously antagonistic depiction was released. Since then, I've kind of just accepted it as "This character is an antagonist." GoldenLine (talk) 23:12, June 20, 2018 (UTC)

Characters and Template:Characters each list her within "Other pony characters" rather than as an antagonist, so I figure her being categorized as an antagonist reflects Siege of the Crystal Empire without necessarily bearing on the nature of her older role (especially since some of her newer appearances from magazines). Mobile game descriptions

Hey (7)6(four), really appreciate you adding mobile game descriptions for various characters to their articles; it seems like there's only a handful of folks following the game and adding info about it to the wiki. I was curious, have you seen the blog post I did a while back? I'm trying to keep track of what all needs doing so far as the mobile game lists in the workshop are concerned, at least for descriptions and color schemes; images are a whole other animal I don't really know how to tackle. Anyway, if there's any way you could help with the descriptions I have listed-or if you've added some to their various articles or lists already and I haven't noticed-I would be very grateful.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 08:47, September 29, 2018 (UTC)

(7)6(four) (talk) 10:21, September 29, 2018 (UTC)

Much obliged my friend; I'd actually gotten the Dapper Hollowvian's description but forgot to take him off the list.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 20:57, September 29, 2018 (UTC)

So a somewhat related issue; seems there are a few characters that haven't been added to the workshop lists. I know we've got two Umbrum characters, but I don't know what their names are in English. Also, the most recent update apparently brings the game to 644 characters, and the lists only have 641 by my count including those two Umbrum. I know the latest update brought in good Sombra, Radiant Hope, Princess Amore, Crystal Guardspony, Crystal Mailpony, Shadow Lock, and Mirror-Sombra's Guard; any idea who I'm missing?--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 08:59, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
Have you already compared with w:c:mlp-gameloft:Character (including w:c:mlp-gameloft:Template:Characters) and (outdated as it may be)? (7)6(four) (talk) 22:50, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
I have not.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 10:00, October 10, 2018 (UTC)
I swore off the seesaawiki page some time back; even when new information was added there were often inaccuracies, particularly in terms of where the characters were located.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 08:25, October 14, 2018 (UTC)

Well, I've got all the ones from that video you sent me the link to listed now. However, as of the latest update there are apparently 667 playable characters, and our wiki list only comes to 663. Wonder who could be missing...--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 09:05, October 31, 2018 (UTC)

A second Mane-iac (it's almost like a follow-up to Return of the Mane-iac!)... (7)6(four) (talk) 21:12, November 1, 2018 (UTC)
Well, that's...bizarre. You'd think they could have at least included the rest of the Alliance of Malevolence or her henchponies while they were at it...--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 22:54, November 1, 2018 (UTC)

Well, now looking at things, it looks like there may be even more characters missing than I thought. Do you have any idea if Jesus Pezuna and Jet Set are still included or have been re-added to the game? If so, we may be looking at four or five missing characters instead of three...--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 11:29, November 8, 2018 (UTC)

On top of that, it seems that the three I thought we were missing before were NOT included in the Siege of the Crystal Empire update...--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 11:56, November 8, 2018 (UTC)
w:c:mlp-gameloft:Jesus Pezuna and w:c:mlp-gameloft:Jet Set seem to answer those questions, unless they're outdated (though not as outdated as Jet Set and Upper Crust#My Little Pony (mobile game), Ponet#My Little Pony (mobile game), Prim Hemline#My Little Pony (mobile game), and/or Suri Polomare#Software are). (7)6(four) (talk) 21:31, November 8, 2018 (UTC)

Well...having looked to multiple sources and reexamined everything, I'm thinking that those two and one other character might not be counted, or else there are three other characters not being counted or something. Going over the workshop pages and using alternate methods, I now peg the character count at 670-three more than the game currently says. So...I honestly don't know what's up.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 22:43, November 9, 2018 (UTC)

Seems that someone has managed to put together a gallery of many of the missing character descriptions: [2].--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 19:54, November 20, 2018 (UTC)

Don't suppose you've seen anywhere what the character names are for S08E14 Unnamed Earth Stallion #1 or Mailmare Derpy, have you? They're the only characters I haven't seen names for from update 38. I've also not seen the name of the "Charlie Brown pony" from the latest update. However, I have thirteen out of the fourteen characters from update 39 accounted for. Maybe the fourteenth is that Princess Radiant Hope you discovered?--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 02:14, December 27, 2018 (UTC) recently caught up with the latest updates' additions; its content still seems to not all be organized accurately (Gallus in Sweet Apple Acres?), but I've yet to see the content itself there be inaccurate. (7)6(four) (talk) 02:38, December 27, 2018 (UTC)
That disorganization thing is one of the reasons I stopped going there as a resource; I even made comments on the fact that were never acknowledged. Our old YouTube friend Tomo seems to have solved the mystery of the fourteen pony from update 39: it's the one based on Buddy the Elf. Makes me wonder where the seesaawiki got that bit for Princess Hope; your adding it to her page is the only evidence I've seen of it.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 00:00, December 28, 2018 (UTC)
If your comments weren't in Japanese, that might've played a role in them going unacknowledged. I haven't seen any more evidence regarding Princess Radiant Hope than you have; she's one of various later additions to that Seesaa character list's section for characters who—according to Teratorn43906 four years ago—"do[...]n't have existing codings for them inside Gameobjectdata.xml and Shopdata.xml. Though they do have existing names, house names and descriptions in english.loc inside 000_(insert device name here)_startup.ark". (7)6(four) (talk) 00:39, December 28, 2018 (UTC)

So I noted your removal of Cosmos from the "List of unused characters" based on something from Equestria Daily. I don't really care for the site-what exactly did they say?--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 09:02, October 8, 2018 (UTC)

Hey (7)6(four), thanks for adding those last two dragon bios. However, I wanted to ask you about something. I saw that you edited Eris' info on the List of non-pony characters page to say that she was disguised as the Pony of Shadows in the first issue of Nightmare Knights. What's you source for this, may I ask? Was it said in issue #2?--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 09:14, November 28, 2018 (UTC)

Talkpage comments

Can you please stop making comments about the comics on talkpage comments between me and someone else?

Yes, I know you really love that Sombra comic. And I know that's what this is about because you don't respond that way to comments about ANY of the other comics, like Nightmare Rarity or the Dazzlings' banishment or anything Chrysalis-related (at least not after she returned in the show). It's only the Sombra comic you feel compelled to comment on.

I know you firmly believe it is canon. Most of us nowadays don't, but while I will make comments about the show contradicting them, if you have your own explanations for them - and you've shown repeatedly you do - I won't attempt to change your mind.

But a lot of us have our own views on it, and I heard Jim Miller said we can decide for ourselves about comics and Equestria Girls. Again, comics are a bit shaky but you have your explanations for the apparent plot holes. People can even FanonDiscontinuity episodes if we want, and I am not the only one that has done so, nor is MLP the only series people do this for. They're still official canon, but we can pretend they never happened, and acknowledge that that's what we're doing. Official canon is official canon, I'm not arguing with that, but it IS a fictional universe. And who's to say the comics can't be a parallel universe?

You have your views on it, you firmly believe comics are 100% canon, and you love the Sombra comic in particular. That's fine and I completely respect that. But don't try to push it on everyone who feels differently. And it is getting tiresome getting comments saying "Sombra comic is canon" every single time I say he's dead or talk of the possibility of his revival or say anything even remotely contradictory to Siege of the Crystal Empire.

If you have something to say in response to something I said on the comments pages, and you don't think the admins will allow you to say it repeatedly there, it's not that different saying it in repeatedly in my conversations with other users. Admins are pretty strict about spam here and that may constitute spam saying something repeatedly to the same user. I once got blocked for saying something in the comments of an article, and then the same thing on another user's talkpage. Just said it twice, and once on a talkpage. Trying to make a person feel better about Sombra's death no less, by saying s/he could go by Siege of the Crystal Empire as canon if s/he wishes, but that was back when there was big tension about anything I ever said about Sombra or Chrysalis, which has mostly blown over since I clarified that my interest in villain deaths and tails isn't a fetish. KillRoy231 (talk) 02:14, February 7, 2019 (UTC)

I don't necessarily love Siege of the Crystal Empire; I haven't read (most of) it. (7)6(four) (talk) 22:18, February 7, 2019 (UTC)

If you look close enough you will notice that she has Parasol's mane style. Emily30, 18:39 (ET), February 8, 2019

Which character with Parasol's mane style are you talking about? (7)6(four) (talk) 02:56, February 9, 2019 (UTC)

Oh, my bad. I didn't realize that you were talking about the pony that I thought was S04E10 Unnamed Pegasus Mare #1. I looked closer at that image and you were right it has to be Sunshower Raindrops. I need to look at manes more often. Sorry for the misunderstanding LOL. Emily30, 9:00 (ET), February 9, 2019

Blueberry Curls

Hey (7)6(four), long time no contact. I noticed on the history for Blueberry Curls that you added a hidden section about her being included in the mobile game under a different name. Did you have a source on that? She recently was included in a collection in the game under the name Blueberry Curls, and I'm trying to figure out if it's just a name change.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 18:41, July 25, 2019 (UTC) ("Bubblegum Blossom": "This blue-maned mother has a lovable face. With her cute foal in tow, she travels anyplace.") has been another one of various later additions to that Seesaa character list's section for characters who—according to Teratorn43906 four years ago—"do[...]n't have existing codings for them inside Gameobjectdata.xml and Shopdata.xml. Though they do have existing names, house names and descriptions in english.loc inside 000_(insert device name here)_startup.ark"; I dunno whether Gameloft updated that or started from scratch, but either way, Blueberry Curls being an in-game character (under any name) would be new. What is it that I’m supposed to do, exactly?A Spy in Concealment (talk) 05:16, August 7, 2020 (UTC)

Nothing in particular; Forum:IDW comics had an answered request for proof that the comics are official, and User blog comment:ImperfectXIII/Season Ten Wishlist/@comment-11461452-20200807050005 was another such request. (7)6(four) (talk) 08:13, August 7, 2020 (UTC)

If I May Ask...

With the exception of Star Swirl the Bearded, how come the Pillars of Old don’t have their own ‘personality’ sections? Aren’t they big enough characters to have that?A Spy in Concealment (talk) 19:19, August 7, 2020 (UTC)

You've gone back and forth about this question; are you sure you want it answered?
If there's enough to write well enough about, then it'd just be that nobody has yet.

Code Red

Hello (7)6(four)! I just removed a sentence from My Little Pony The Movie that just said "Code Red.[specify]" and when I looked at the page history I saw that it was added by you with Diff/2010800. If you by any chance remember why you added it, perhaps we can make a full sentence out of it? Thanks. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 16:57, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

Okay, so it's added to the movie via Make-A-Wish. Any source on that? I found this by BTVA, but that doesn't mention it (not surprised by that tbh). I assume it's somewhere on Twitter? ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 10:21, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
I didn't look too deeply, but there are numerous links in the list of ponies entry to start with, which was already linked in the snippet you removed from the page. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 10:29, August 21, 2021 (UTC)

RD may ask "what are hands" in that media, but a search for the word "hand" on the all-transcripts page suggests that the concept of hands are, for whatever reason, understood in-universe. I suppose the image in question does show Sweetie raising what could be described as a hoof, though.Fluffbrain (talk) 20:42, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

Yep. (7)6(four) (talk) 20:45, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

Just to clear things up...

When I mentioned you on Equestria Daily that one time (without saying any names, if you noticed), it was only to make a joke about beating a dead horse. (Seeing as how we were talking about a dead pony) If you have no grudge against me I hold no grudge against you. KillRoy231 (talk) 00:57, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
