"When your[sic] writing a story"

Wiki articles aren't supposed to tell a "story", Austin012599. They're supposed to describe events in the series and other material in an objective and encyclopedic format. There's no need to insert line breaks or split up paragraphs unless necessary. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 01:55, February 13, 2017 (UTC)

It doesn't matter whether or not it's a story.

A sentence needs to stick to one topic. If your about to switch topics then you have to make a new paragraph.

Besides, it helps people become more interested in reading and less confused about stuff.

If the two episodes are all in one paragraph, people will get bewildered and not want to read. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Austin012599 (talkcontribs)

That has not been an issue before, and I don't see it becoming an issue now. Furthermore, if you do see it as an issue, you should bring it to the comments or the forums instead of engaging in edit warring. Sorry, Austin, but because of your relentless edit warring, you've been blocked from editing for a brief period. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 02:43, February 13, 2017 (UTC)

Everything you've done to the page are causing your false edits slated into the completely wrong way... flurry_heart_flying_by_botchan_mlp-d9x9puh.gifChoongie  talk  11:19, February 13, 2017 (UTC)

What favor? furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 05:20, March 10, 2017 (UTC)

I was wondering if you could relay the questions I have about the movie to Twitter.
The person I wanted to ask the most was Meghan McCarthy.Austin012599 (talk) 16:53, March 10, 2017 (UTC)
Will you do it?Austin012599 (talk) 19:07, March 10, 2017 (UTC)
Well, as I said in the comments section on the Crew page, it depends on the questions asked. The show staff is unlikely to answer certain questions about upcoming stuff until they're close to release or after they're released.
Secondly, you could simply create your own Twitter account. It's easy, and it's free. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 19:39, March 10, 2017 (UTC)

Well, it does make sense.

I know I could make my own Twitter account, but, I don't trust Twitter.

The questions I have though are the ones in one of my blog posts. They're not ones to give spoilers really. They're just ones that clear confusion of certain things.Austin012599 (talk) 00:11, March 11, 2017 (UTC)

Staff questions

Austin012599, as I and a few others have said before, if you have questions for the show staff, you're better off simply creating a Twitter account (which is very simple to do) and asking them yourself. At the same time, however, you need to realize that there are some questions that they are unable to answer or uncomfortable with answering, whether it be for privacy or contractual reasons, and you should respect that.

I'll say this right now: I'm not comfortable acting as a go-between/messenger between you and the show staff. If some staff members don't have a Facebook account, we can't make them create one. We make do with the methods of communication they have open to us, and the most readily available of those methods is Twitter. If you have questions for the staff, you can make a Twitter account and ask them, but be respectful if they don't or can't answer. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 01:50, March 31, 2017 (UTC)

You're right, ImperfectXIII.

I should never have been asking anyone to ask questions for me. I also should have considered the fact that there are questions that they can answer, and questions they can't answer.

It's just...

One reason I don't want to have to find myself a Twitter account is because I'm content with what I currently have: a blog, a YouTube account, and a Facebook account. I want to be content as well. However, each day the questions I have for the staff keep ringing in my head, and it doesn't seem like there's anywhere else to go but Twitter.

Another reason is that my family and friends don't use Twitter. I've asked many of the people I know about the knowledge they have of it or if they use it. But they either tell me they don't know anything about it, or that they had it and never liked having it afterwards; and that it was no good.

Aside from that, it would be a lot more comforting if people I know personally used it so that I could have a reason to go there.Austin012599 (talk) 03:00, March 31, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Braze

As I said on my talk page, Austin012599, there simply isn't enough information about Braze to fill a whole Wiki article. The little information there is about him wouldn't be enough to meet the Wiki's page length standards. Please stop trying to create a page for him. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 14:43, April 3, 2017 (UTC)

Alright. But I must tell you, there is information about him in the book that could meet a wikia page's standards.

Aside from that, what's the difference with making a page for him compared to making one for villains like Chrysalis and Gladmane?Austin012599 (talk) 14:59, April 3, 2017 (UTC)

Quoted content

Austin, quoted content on Wiki pages -- text inside quotation marks ("") -- should not be altered from how they're worded and spelled in the original source. "and her old coltfriend, Buffalo Bull" is not part of the official solicitation for My Little Pony: Friends Forever Issue #33. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 04:10, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

Although entirely, I find that there are several grammatical problems with the comic summaries even though they come from the original source. And, I only added the Buffalo Bull part in Comic #33 because there really wasn't much of a summary worth being put.

Also, I don't know what the whole "sic" thing means. Whatever it means, I find it unnecessary, and completely there without any explanation or purpose.Austin012599 (talk) 14:32, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Sic. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 14:35, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

Oh. Thank you.

Actually, now that I think about it,

Why don't we do and encourage our own original writing instead of copying exactly what another source already wrote?Austin012599 (talk) 15:52, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

Because those sources are official. Users' "original writing" is opinionated, not 100% reliable, and open to interpretation and debate. That's why the Wiki mostly uses official and verified sources for such info. See FW:V and FW:OM for more details. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 16:04, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

Well, not all wikias are like that. As a matter of fact, the Disney Wikia is now wanting its users to post information about movies and tv shows while also using their own writing instead of using the exact words other sources have. It's being done in order for things to not look like they were plagiarized.Austin012599 (talk) 17:46, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

This isn't the Disney Wiki. And it isn't plagiarism; it's citing sources. "Content as it appears in the show's episodes and official merchandise is the definitive source in case of disputes." furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 18:04, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

Other people can see it, but not comment on it. It is outside of the scope of this website.  FANMADE_Animated_Derpy_Hooves_desktop_ponies_sprite.gif Sig1.png Sig2.png  16:03, May 21, 2017 (UTC)

Blog closing

I'm not the one who closed your blog post so this is not the official reason, but I'd like to offer my thoughts on why it was closed.

Although (as far as I understand) it's generally acceptable for these blogs to discuss topics outisde the purview of the wikia, which may include calls for moral support on real-life matters, the post you recently made that was closed by Callofduty4 appeared to include a few things that are beyond what could be considered appropriate discussion for this site. First, the matter about Christians being targeted is a decidedly political discussion that you're using to make extremely vague accusations, something that isn't covered under any auspice of this wikia's blog service. Second, the relationship between you and what you're worried about is an extremely personal one, involving your own specific religious convictions and your perception of how they're being threatened in (as far as we can tell) a very unspecific way; these are matters that, as Callofduty4 says, are best treated with some "soul searching", i.e. coming to terms with how you react to these things and how to avoid being stressed about them.

Again, not speaking for anyone else here, these are just my thoughts. Also, your blog is still visible, it just can't be commented on.Fluffbrain (talk) 16:40, May 21, 2017 (UTC)

Regardless of how "serious" the subject matter of your blog post is, Austin, as stated above, this site is not the appropriate venue for at-length discussions about religion or politics. It is outside this website's acceptable scope. The Wiki's Discord has dedicated chat rooms for discussing non-MLP-related topics, and you can talk about it on other websites (if they allow it) or any form of social media -- as I sense it is a personal issue for you -- but this site is not an appropriate place for such discussions. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 22:21, April 22, 2018 (UTC)

Oh well. At least my website is still available.Austin012599 (talk) 22:31, April 22, 2018 (UTC)

Austin012599, I feel your views mentioned in your "My Thoughts on 'Rollercoaster of Friendship'" have once again veered into an overly religious and political area not appropriate for discussion on this Wiki, and thus the blog's comment section has been closed. I don't want to accuse you of pushing an anti-homosexuality/anti-liberalism agenda, but your remarks in relation to Rollercoaster of Friendship and how personal you make such issues have kinda conveyed that. I ask again that you direct such sensitive topics of discussion to more appropriate platforms like the Wiki's Discord server. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 21:44, July 11, 2018 (UTC)
Austin, I mentioned before that a number of your posts tend to lean toward religious and political in tone, and that still holds true now. Regardless of the intended purpose of your recent blog post, I do not approve of your using it as an end-run to cast any shameful light on homosexuality and those who advocate it.
Whether you see this as me deleting everything you post is your opinion. As long as you let your personal, controversial views dictate your opinions on the Wiki, you will face frequent comment/blog closure and deletion. It's as simple as that. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 14:58, February 5, 2019 (UTC)

Answer to your Sombra question

I'm not sure if my comment will get deleted or not coz any comments I make about Sombra's death usually do, but I can name off 47 G-rated shows, movies, or games that kill the main villain at least, and I'll mark those that also kill non-villains with an asterisk.

  47. Yu-Gi-Oh* (which often got ridiculous in censoring death with damnation, yet they unambiguously killed the Big Five, Gozaburo, Dartz, Shadi (who wasn't a villain), Zorc, and Bakura without any "Shadow Realm" censorship)

Pokemon seems less appealing to any older viewers who didn't see it when they were a kid, yet they sometimes either spectacularly killed the villain, or even had sad permanent deaths of heroic characters. Also, a lot of the movies I listed are Disney movies. You should try watching some of them, they're pretty fun. Especially those in the "Renaissance" era (google "Disney Renaissance). They used to do it all the time until Frozen, and though it and those that followed are PG, the kids love them, and Frozen and all that followed, except Zootopia, killed family members of the hero, which is a LOT darker.

So... yeah, kid-friendly shows at least kill the villain all the time, so don't be too surprised if the MLP movie kills the Storm King. That's why I would always make a big deal that Sombra was dead and couldn't still be alive just because "kids shows can't kill even a villain". KillRoy231 (talk) 23:41, June 10, 2017 (UTC)

Talk page messages

Please do not remove messages from other users' talk pages, even if they're your own. After the messages have been replied to, it's up to the recipient's discretion whether or not to archive them. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 21:27, July 4, 2017 (UTC)

I'm sorry if what I was doing wasn't good. I just thought I'd delete some of the questions I made because they're in the past. Austin012599 (talk) 21:38, July 4, 2017 (UTC)

Austin, Impy has asked you not to delete bits from your talk page. If you want to hide away older threads, you can put them on a seperate archive page.

BenRG - I Hope to Keep This Peaceful (talk) 19:42, July 9, 2017 (UTC)

How do I do that?Austin012599 (talk) 19:50, July 9, 2017 (UTC)

Create a subpage to your talk page (for example, "User talk:Austin012599/Archive"), place {{Archive|User talk:Austin012599}} at the top, and move whatever number of messages you want from here to the subpage. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 19:56, July 9, 2017 (UTC)
Again, please do not remove messages from your talk page unless you're moving them to an archive. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 23:12, December 17, 2017 (UTC)

Descriptive file names

Please give images descriptive file names when you upload them. "IMG 0605.JPG", for example, is not descriptive enough of the image that the file depicts. See Help:Descriptive name for more information. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 04:34, July 20, 2017 (UTC)

Once again, images should have descriptive file names when uploaded to the Wiki. "IMG 0664.JPG" is not descriptive enough. Please note that continuous disregard of this policy may result in a block. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 13:07, August 26, 2017 (UTC)

Actually, I don't even know how to do that, really.

I never even knew that pictures needed that.Austin012599 (talk) 14:09, August 26, 2017 (UTC)

You can name files before uploading them, or you can name them as you upload them by clicking "More options" on the "Upload a photo to the wiki" pop-up window and typing out the filename in the "Filename" text box.
That's why the Help:Descriptive name Wiki policy exists. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 14:34, August 26, 2017 (UTC)

Would you like to do that instead since you seem to be in charge of everything involving photos?Austin012599 (talk) 14:51, August 26, 2017 (UTC)

You've been blocked for uploading a multitude of images with non-descriptive file names. Once again, please see Help:Descriptive name about proper file naming for when your block expires, and observe the message box at the top of My Little Pony The Movie/Gallery about uploading images from unofficially released portions of the film. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 03:56, December 16, 2017 (UTC)

  • sigh* Ah well. At least I was able to make a change of pace here and earn more badges and points.

Also, why can’t you just give the photos descriptive names yourself since you know how to do all things wikia?Austin012599 (talk) 04:23, December 16, 2017 (UTC)

That shouldn't be my responsibility alone -- especially when dealing with so many images at once. I've directed you to the file naming policy page (twice), and I explained how to name files step-by-step. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 04:41, December 16, 2017 (UTC)

I can see that there are instructions, but they’re not very helpful. They’re too vague! I can’t even make heads or tails out of them! They don’t even explain how to give the photos descriptive names, just that you’re supposed to do that!Austin012599 (talk) 18:19, December 16, 2017 (UTC)

The problem is that you're trying to name the image AFTER you upload it. It doesn't work that way. When you change "65FE4A34-3B53-4CB0-9F62-985EB4710E0D.jpeg" to "Cathy Weseluck, the voice of Spike the Dragon, at the pink carpet.jpeg", it doesn't do anything because the file "Cathy Weseluck, the voice of Spike the Dragon, at the pink carpet.jpeg" doesn't exist. The file still remains at the original, non-descriptive name.
Once again, you can name the file BEFORE you upload it. Or, on the Special:Images, click "ADD NEW IMAGE", choose your file, click "More options", and type out the file name in the "Filename" text box, and THEN click "Upload photo". furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 20:03, December 17, 2017 (UTC)
Austin012599, you are still not naming files correctly, and you are still disregarding the message box at the top of the My Little Pony The Movie/Gallery page. Please do not upload images from unofficially released portions of the film. Further disregard of either of these warnings will result in another block. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 23:02, December 17, 2017 (UTC)

I think I figured it out. You’re telling me how to do all this with a computer. The reason I haven’t been taking your advice is because I’ve been using my iPad.Austin012599 (talk) 23:05, December 17, 2017 (UTC)

In that case, considering the limited editing functionality of a mobile device, maybe you should stop uploading images that way. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 23:08, December 17, 2017 (UTC)

Good idea.Austin012599 (talk) 23:16, December 17, 2017 (UTC)

You're still not naming files properly. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 18:05, August 13, 2019 (UTC)

An image can't be used on the Wiki unless it's been uploaded to the Wiki. "Rose Dress.jpeg" is not a descriptive enough filename. The filename of a character profile needs the character's name, the letters "ID", and a number tag indicating the season/episode ("S#E##"), and it is recommended that the image be in high-quality PNG format. Again, this is all explained on the Help:Descriptive name page. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 03:57, August 14, 2019 (UTC)

Your uploaded images are still in low-quality JPG. If you're still having trouble, please wait until another user adds the images in higher-quality format. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 18:58, August 14, 2019 (UTC)

Further abuse after your block has expired will result in another block. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 18:49, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

For your information, I see no reason why a category for unreformed antagonists is such a bad thing?

We already have a category section for reformed villains, so what makes what I was doing any different?

Every reason you have for taking away whatever I try to contribute is rather ridiculous if you ask me, even if there are guidelines (which are completely vague and give no exact instruction). It also makes me question your position as an administrator as well as the rules of this wikia.Austin012599 (talk) 19:01, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

The difference is that "Reformed antagonists" was discussed in the comments/forums before it was implemented. Besides, the fact that "Antagonists" already exists makes "Unreformed villains" redundant.
You can question my position and the rules if you want to. But the rules are there for a reason, and whether or not you agree, they make this one of the most efficiently-run Wikis on the network. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 19:11, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

But the way you follow me around makes me feel uncomfortable. Everywhere I go, you turn up the next. It makes me feel like a stalked and targeted punching bag.Austin012599 (talk) 19:31, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

I monitor ALL Wiki activity as closely as I can. It has nothing to do with you specifically. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 19:47, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

Alright. That makes sense.

To tell you the truth, the reason I added in “Unreformed Villains” was because of the fact that there are so many villains who are reformed that I felt like there needed to be a category for the ones who haven’t seen the light. But, now I see that the “Antagonists” category has that covered.

Are there any categories this wikia has yet to try? If so, then, may I have your permission to add that category in?Austin012599 (talk) 19:58, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

I’ve learned my lesson about the whole category thing. I won’t be doing it without asking for permission anymore.Austin012599 (talk) 16:02, February 26, 2018 (UTC)

Hello?Austin012599 (talk) 16:30, February 27, 2018 (UTC)

This is only a guess, Austin (my not being an admin means that it can't be anything otherwise) but I think that the silence means that the answer is 'no'. You'll just have to wait out the remaining day or so.
BenRG - I Hope to Keep This Peaceful (talk) 16:39, February 27, 2018 (UTC)

Well, how long do blocks last normally?Austin012599 (talk) 22:12, February 27, 2018 (UTC)

This specific block is for three days, meaning it expires tomorrow. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 23:32, February 27, 2018 (UTC)
You've been blocked for edit warring, removing content from pages without sufficient reason, and continuing to spread what appear to be homophobic/sexually intolerant views on the Wiki. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 16:19, December 20, 2019 (UTC)

Info sourcing

The Wiki uses Template:Cite web for citing sources. See here for an example of how to source properly. Of course I remind you once again that editing from a desktop is more recommended than from a mobile device. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 23:58, March 1, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks 👌🏻. How am I doing on it all by the way?Austin012599 (talk) 00:16, March 2, 2018 (UTC)

Please use this template for sourcing:
<ref>{{cite web|url=|title=|author=|publisher=|date=|accessdate=}}</ref>
  • "url" is the source's web address (example:
  • "title" is the source's title
  • "author" is the name of the source's author
  • "publisher" is the name of the site where the source was published (example: Equestria Daily)
  • "date" is the date that the source was published on (in YYYY-MM-DD format)
  • "accessdate" is the date on which the source was accessed, usually the present date (in YYYY-MM-DD format)
furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 23:45, March 6, 2018 (UTC)
Wouldn't Equestria Daily be "work" (with Blogger being "publisher")? (7)6(four) (talk) 01:32, March 7, 2018 (UTC)
I guess? furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 02:18, March 7, 2018 (UTC)

As I was saying...

If you love Misfortune and Flawless, that's fine by me. But again, don't expect me to say anything positive about them other than Flawless isn't the worst song of the whole franchise (that would be The Midnight in Me), much less the fact that Starlight, the Mane Six, Toola Roola and Coconut Cream thankfully aren't derailed in Misfortune (unlike the townsponies)... and it's only my 2nd worst of Season 7 to Secrets and Pies.

TallTitan70 (talk) 02:51, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

By the way, I know that you ranked the Storm King as a character you dislike, but, do you think if Hasbro gave him another appearance in order to give him more screen time and to develop him more, what would you think of him after that?Austin012599 (talk) 03:12, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

I don't know cause I wouldn't find it logical if he was resurrected. But who knows? As long as he doesn't get a rushed redemption, and rather just killed off more than once, I'd be fine.

TallTitan70 (talk) 04:11, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

I don’t think he’s the redeemable type. After all, he despises friendship, and cares about no one but himself. He also doesn’t think very highly of others and only keeps around those who prove themselves forever loyal to him and him only.Austin012599 (talk) 16:39, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

Sentence case

The Wiki follows the capitalization rule of sentence case for section headers: only the first word is capitalized (except for proper nouns). Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 18:59, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

Okay, I’m sorry. I just thought that it wouldn’t hurt to make grammatical corrections to the Header titles. After all, all titles and headers in writing should be capitalized, the only exceptions being small words like “of” and “the”.Austin012599 (talk) 19:04, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

By the way, did you see the recent comment I made on Grubber’s page?Austin012599 (talk) 20:13, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

Badge Boosting

Please refrain from making trivial edits to the wiki, e.g. rapid successions of capitalization adjustments to the headings of multiple pages that can only be explained as an attempt to grind out as many page edits as possible from a total whim. The wiki has its conventions. Attempts to overwrite those conventions in the most drawn-out manner possible are tantamount to badge boosting, which the wiki frowns upon. Stop this manner of editing at once. Thank you. Guildmaster Grovyle (talk) 18:59, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

You're stretching thin what the Wiki considers acceptable includable information, Austin. This isn't a biographical Wiki; cast and crew member pages need not include every single detail or interview that cast/crew member is involved in. If information directly relates to a staff member's involvement in the series, it might be acceptable. But info like Liev Schreiber's thoughts on "creativity" or whether Uzo Aduba grew up singing the My Little Pony theme song are little more than page fluff. They pad out the page but add nothing significant. Please try to be more selective with the information you publish and leave out the needless trivia. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 22:52, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

That’s what I’ve even trying to remove from the pages of Blunt and Pena, hasn’t it? Unnecessary trivial info?Austin012599 (talk) 22:55, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Not in their cases, because the information you're removing from their pages DOES relate to their roles in the film. The information you've been adding to several other pages do NOT. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 23:00, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Well, in regards to the pages ornament Liev Schreiber and Taye Diggs, what if I were to just add how they approached and influenced their characters and leave out everything else?

In this case, shorten it to where I leave out what they had talked about in creative terms.

Would that work?Austin012599 (talk) 23:03, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Michael Pena

Austin012599, you have tried at least three times to insert this information about Michael Pena on three different articles, and each time I have had to clean up after you. It is very non-productive. If a specific piece of information doesn't fit, there's no need to shoehorn it in. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 00:26, March 7, 2018 (UTC)

I’m sorry. I just thought this was something that needed be added.

At least I found where it could fit though, right?Austin012599 (talk) 00:52, March 7, 2018 (UTC)

Your "If I May Ask" questions for me

1. Anything after Rainbow Rocks recycling every element of the same exact villain (minus part of Wallflower Blush since she never had a transformation) and plot is my main problem with them. Basically, they add absolutely nothing new to the franchise.

2. If you didn't hear me before, aside from maybe a few laughs and Schreiber's performance for the character, the only other thing that holds the Storm King back from my least favorite characters category is his satisfying death. (Because, believe me, he's nowhere NEAR destined to be reformed) Not to mention he's more serviceable than Sia's character Songbird Serenade by only a longshot for being a part of the movie's actual plot whereas the only thing that ever saves Sia's character from falling into the same category is her stellar song (as one of my Top Three overall favorites of the franchise) Rainbow.

And besides, only characters I "hate" make my least favorite category. The Storm King and Songbird are two I just "dislike" just to be clear.

TallTitan70 (talk) 08:00, June 12, 2018 (UTC)

I’ve been feeling the same way at times with the villains of EG, and the plotting. Which is why I went to Nick Confalone’s Twitter account to express my concerns. I also asked him if they could go all out in making sure it’s something different, and he said yes.

Also, I actually made my own story about the Storm King, taking place while Tempest is out looking for Twilight. I believe it definitely fleshes him out more.Austin012599 (talk) 10:48, June 12, 2018 (UTC)

A thought

I'd like to point something out to you concerning an opinion you voiced recently. I write this not to be argumentative or critical, but to hopefully help you avoid contributing to a negative environment in the future, since you tend to bring this subject up intermittently.

If someone approached you and told you that autism was a choice, and that it's entirely your fault that you don't behave like 'normal' society, you would probably feel upset and respond with something like "no, it's a real thing, I'm experiencing it, I can tell you it's real." But there's no way you could objectively prove it to them, because the experience is deeply subjective. And just as much, the person saying that could not prove you weren't autistic. In this case, you would know, and the other person wouldn't. But if that person convinced enough people around that your behaviors and mannerisms were entirely your own choice and that no consideration should be given for your situation, I imagine that would make it more difficult for you to interact positively with those people.

Sexual orientation is similar in that it is a deeply personal experience that can't be "proven" either way. When you insist that others are experiencing their own feelings incorrectly - something that you cannot actually know - you run the risk of making life more difficult for them unnecessarily. Here, you have to face the facts: you don't know if homosexuality is a choice or not. And I don't know either because I don't have that experience. But when others say that they do know and that it isn't a choice because they themselves genuinely experience such a state of being - just as you might with autism - the most accurate, the most considerate, and the most helpful thing to do would be to believe them.

...but even if you don't, don't insist you know their feelings better than they do. That is provably wrong.Fluffbrain (talk) 00:02, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

In terms of your comparison of autism & sexuality, I’m afraid I have to disagree on that. I find that they’re nothing alike, and that sexuality actually has more in common with politics and religion, in that they each represent what you believe in.

But here’s a question I have:

How do people even know if sexuality is natural or normal? There’s no evidence to even prove that, really. If anything, people are just running on claims without anything to back themselves up.Austin012599 (talk) 01:37, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

In that regard, Austin, you're just proving Fluffbrain's point above - in that you boil sexuality down to a "belief without evidence" because you have not experienced other sexualities for yourself. As a result, you risk unintentionally offending a lot of people.
You're right: autism and sexuality are not anything alike. But being autistic is not a choice YOU made, and there's no SINGLE, ISOLATED cause of autism. So suggesting that sexuality IS a choice is a considerably narrow-minded viewpoint. You demand evidence proving sexuality is natural yet cannot provide any evidence of your own that it isn't. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 02:05, July 13, 2018 (UTC)
@Austin - admittedly I don't understand your question. Sexuality is a trait of all life, in fact it's in the very definition of something that is scientifically 'alive'. And "running on claims without anything to back themselves up" is exactly the behavior that you've been partaking in that has caused such negative feedback on your blogs, and the thing I directly address in my initial comment here. You claim that sexual orientation is a choice - which has enormous implications - without citing any sources. My whole point is to avoid making such claims when you have no evidence.
Also, my comparison was to point out that both autism and sexual orientation (as in the desire, not the act) have no objective standard of measurement because they exist fundamentally as the product of neural activity. In other words, you cannot "prove" someone's orientation by looking at it from the outside - you can only know it from the inside. And I think most people would agree that love is not a product of logical deduction, as political or religious preferences may be.Fluffbrain (talk) 02:07, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

Hey, well don’t look at me. It isn’t my fault that I get negative feedback on my blogs at times. If you guys just talk and focus on something besides that, and just ignore whatever brings up that topic, maybe this sort of thing wouldn’t happen so much. Plus, unlike others, Christians actually have a physical source to back themselves up: the Bible. And to us, it’s all the proof we need.

And yes, sadly I do find myself to be completely at fault for starting situations like this. I’m really sorry about that.Austin012599 (talk) 02:44, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

My intention was only to suggest a way for you to avoid negative feedback. Whether you reject this suggestion or not is totally up to you, but I predict that denying the experiences of others will only get in the way of positive relationships. Also, as a Christian myself, I consider the Bible as quite clearly promoting the principle of withholding our own fallible judgments of others.Fluffbrain (talk) 03:12, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

Lightning Dust

Unless you meant immediately after, this question you were asking already got answered via Siege of the Crystal Empire and the magazine comic Super Sub! (7)6(four) (talk) 05:50, July 30, 2018 (UTC)

I don’t consider comics and books canon unless the show proves them to be canon. For instance, I consider Friends Forever Issue 18 Canon because Twilight mentions in P.P.O.V. (Pony Point of View) that Fluttershy & Rainbow went to the school reunion during that episode.Austin012599 (talk) 17:52, July 30, 2018 (UTC)

These are different, really. I mostly mean, like, on the show and with the mane-style she started having since Season 6.Austin012599 (talk) 18:59, October 2, 2018 (UTC)

Austin012599, though you claim to not be homophobic, your comments in the Ponyville Mysteries: Riddle of the Rusty Horseshoe comment section (now removed) certainly convey such an intolerant view: unfounded claims of homosexuality supporters "forcing their ways and beliefs onto the youth"; unsubstantiated data of sexually-transmitted diseases and depression/substance abuse/suicide rates; implications that the writers are inserting fan-driven ideas into the series, etc.

As you've no doubt seen, your remarks were met with almost unanimous dissent and have offended at least one user on the Wiki. It would be in everyone's best interest (yours especially) if you kept such negative connotations about homosexuality out of the comments from here on. Thank you. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 02:55, October 20, 2018 (UTC)

But promise me one thing:

Please also keep your eyes open for offending comments that don’t come from me, and would very much be insulting to people such as myself.Austin012599 (talk) 03:41, October 20, 2018 (UTC)

Please stop edit warring on King Sombra's page. I fail to see what's hard to understand about this statement. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 02:32, December 20, 2019 (UTC)

The problem with the current term is that “LGBT” is what people often refer to homosexuals, not bisexuals. Along with that, we should work with an actual word, one that’s simple and doesn’t look like the abbreviations of something or a promotion of a certain community.A Spy in Concealment (talk) 02:41, December 20, 2019 (UTC)

  1. "LGBTQ" stands for "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (or transsexual), and queer, meaning it is not limited only to homosexuality. Abbreviated or not, it is an actual term.
  2. Vogel refers to Sombra not just as a "bi icon" in his tweets but also a "gay icon" and an "LGBTQ icon". Look at the references cited next to the statement.
furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 03:10, December 20, 2019 (UTC)

I have seen the tweets. But again, none of this makes any sense to me at all. There’s also a difference between a term and word and an icon and person.

It doesn’t seem to say at all what Sombra’s sexuality is. If anything, it’s starting to seem like Vogel made those tweets because he’s been having completely sick dreams that his dirty mind couldn’t resist sharing to the public.A Spy in Concealment (talk) 04:18, December 20, 2019 (UTC)

Stop asking the same question over and over, including in your user blog. It's spam. As (7)6(four) answered on his talk page, if the Pillars other than Star Swirl have enough personality to write well enough about, it's simply that nobody has done so yet.

Next time, if you have a question and don't get an immediate answer, please do not ask it over and over until you get one. furdklZ.png 2xoHxMt.gif 00:49, August 8, 2020 (UTC)
