Hi Bobo, would there be a mean to make the article force the template here to expand, if it's collapsed by default in its template code ? Alternately, may we do the contrary, and modify the template to only be collapsible and not collapsed ?

On an other subject, is there an example of transclusion on the wiki that I could use to see the proper use of it, given the "rules" I see here and there are obscure to my comprehension? Thanks –  Drake  23:54, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Done, it's now expanded by default and can be collapsed with the parameter |state=collapsed. List of ponies is entirely based on section transclusion, and currently I have a transclusion set up at Episodes#Season four to avoid duplication. If you're talking about section transclusion specifically, see mw:Extension:Labeled Section Transclusion. Regular transclusion works just like a template, it shows the full content of the specified page. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 00:03, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Perfect, thanks!
Ok, I understand the idea of creating a template out of a dedicated page – which is what I did with my sig if not mistaken. The partial transclusion is also a very nice idea to avoid duplicates or keep them automatically updated. The page about the rules is precisely the part which was unclear to me, having no example to analyze. Now, how may I apply this to the page Politics, where you suggested its use, if you please ? Thanks –  Drake  00:18, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
I was saying that if you wanted to show information from different pages at once, you could transclude sections from them (similar to how the one on Episodes is done). I don't know if this would suit your purposes and intents. If the technical aspects are unclear I can try to explain better, but I'd rather not deal with actual content at the moment. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 00:23, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I think it will mostly come in handy for reference to begin with. The potential is enormous.

By the way, saw your amazing work for new personal articles headers (the one which allows to switch between E.G. info and pony info, for example), what are the conditions to implement such new templates into the wiki, a forum ?

Oh, and something else : you use your sandbox for all your notes, but can anyone create any page like /Todo or /Notes in user space; I mean is there any contrary rule ? Thanks –  Drake  12:48, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Indeed; substantial changes like that must be discussed in the forum. And you can create whatever pages you want in your user namespace, and do whatever you want with them, as long as you don't violate the abuse guidelines.-- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png  20:18, July 1, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Bobo. I don't understand what you mean on the reply on Porter21's talk page. I would like to get that box (Edited by blabla) that, if I'm right, appears on all of the pages. If you can't find it, can you try and make it? Thanks, — Jr Mime (talk) 02:01, July 1, 2013 (UTC)

I don't have the time right now. You have scripting experience, I'm sure you could figure it out by looking at similar scripts. For example, here is a script that retrieves some page info and displays it on the page. In fact, I think you can use the second query in that code and just get different information from it to see the last revision user. See Special:ApiExplorer for API documentation. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 02:11, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
I don't have scripting experience, I only changed some easy things on scripts or asked someone to do them. Can you try and make it when you have time, or if you want to try it? I want it for Answers Sites, so a wiki stops signing every answer, it's annoying! Thanks, — Jr Mime (talk) 02:20, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Here's a quick first draft. This might not work on Answers wikis if the code is different. I can adjust it however you want. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 05:03, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
if (mw.config.get('wgArticleId') !== 0) {
(function() {
    var pagename = mw.config.get('wgPageName'), pageid = mw.config.get('wgArticleId');
    $('#WikiaArticle').before('<div id="ajaxrevisionuser" style="' +
      'border-bottom:1px solid #CCC; margin-bottom:0.5em; padding-left:1em;' +
      ' padding-bottom:0.75em;">Edited by <span></span></div>');

    $.getJSON('/api.php?action=query&prop=revisions&titles=' + pagename +
      '&rvprop=user&rvlimit=1&format=json', function(data) {
        var link = data.query.pages[pageid].revisions[0].user;
        link = '<a href="/wiki/User:' + link + '">' + link + '</a>';
        $('#ajaxrevisionuser span').html(link);
That perfectly works. 2 things: When a page is created, is it possible to make it "Question asked by (name)"? Also, can you make it to ignore bot edits?
If it's not too much, thanks! — Jr Mime (talk) 22:09, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Can you link me to a couple pages that this would apply to? For "when a page is created" do you mean to say that if the last edit is the only one? Ignoring bot edits would require adding a loop unless you have only one bot, but I can do it if you can give me some examples so I can look at the API data. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 22:47, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
"When a page is created" AKA When the questions is asked, and yes. Also, for the bots, we have 3 bots. One that edits all day long adding categories to new questions. Here are examples of bot edits: QuestionCatBot. Thanks, — Jr Mime (talk) 22:56, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Or, you could look here, which you will see I am a bot adding categories to questions. — Jr Mime (talk) 22:57, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
This should do it. I couldn't find a reliable way to see if a user was a bot from the revision data alone, so you'll need to keep a list of bots on the line near the top that starts "var revBotsList". It should look like this: var revBotsList = ['QuestionCatBot', 'OtherBot', 'ThirdBotName'];. Any further adjustments? ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 23:17, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
if (mw.config.get('wgArticleId') !== 0) {
(function() {
    var revBotsList = ['QuestionCatBot'];
    var pagename = mw.config.get('wgPageName'), pageid = mw.config.get('wgArticleId'), bots = revBotsList || [];
    $('#WikiaArticle').before('<div id="ajaxrevisionuser" style="' +
      'border-bottom:1px solid #CCC; margin-bottom:0.5em; padding-left:1em;' +
      ' padding-bottom:0.75em;"><span></span> by <span></span></div>');
    $.getJSON('/api.php?action=query&prop=revisions&titles=' + pagename +
      '&rvprop=user&rvlimit=max&format=json', function(data) {
        data = data.query.pages[pageid].revisions;

        if (data.length === 1) {
            $('#ajaxrevisionuser span:first').html('Question asked');
            $('#ajaxrevisionuser span:last').html('<a href="/wiki/User:' + data[0].user + '">' + data[0].user + '</a>');
        } else {
            for (var i = 0; i < data.length; i++) {
                var link = data[i].user;
                if (bots.indexOf(link) === -1) {
                    link = '<a href="/wiki/User:' + link + '">' + link + '</a>';
                    $('#ajaxrevisionuser span:first').html('Edited');
                    $('#ajaxrevisionuser span:last').html(link);
Not for now, thanks Bobo! You are the best! :). — Jr Mime (talk) 23:31, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
For some reasons, it does not display when admins edit the page. Here's an example. I've only added QuestionCatBot, I am a bot and MuudyBot to the bot list, so it shouldn't of affected the admins. Thanks,  — Jr Mime (talk) 01:07, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
It seems, on some pages, it just gets the first edit. As seen here. — Jr Mime (talk) 01:11, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
I'm a derp. After the line that says $('#ajaxrevisionuser span:last').html(link);, put this:
That should fix it :P. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:19, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
This is weird, but change '&rvprop=user&rvlimit=max&format=json' to '&rvprop=user&rvstart=&rvlimit=max&format=json' and see if that fixes the problem with not showing certain users. Also, would appreciate it if you added a small comment like // by Bobogoobo at least (maybe include a link to my Community Central userpage or something, but just the name is fine) above the script. Helps if people have a question about the script in addition to giving credit. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:43, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
Done. Added your name on top of the script. — Jr Mime (talk) 01:53, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, let me know if it still isn't displaying correctly. Or if you want to make it prettier or anything. :P ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:55, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Fluttershy/Gallery/Season 1 episodes 1-13

Are you 100-sure ? As far as I could see on the preview all pics were still there. --Rautamiekka (talk) 06:44, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

They were not. For sure the "looses" one was not. Feel free to mark that one for renaming with {{file rename}}, but yeah, changing the file name in the gallery without the image itself being renamed will break it. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 06:46, July 2, 2013 (UTC)
Hm, that sucks. --Rautamiekka (talk) 06:48, July 2, 2013 (UTC)
Yep. Most of them should be good enough, but for the ones that are not, using that template will give them more attention and get them fixed as soon as someone can take care of it. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 06:50, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Bobo, on User:Bobogoobo/Sources it mentions how to find the sources from an image on derpibooru. Derpibooru actually provides a source for most of its images, usually located below the image on the page and is usually a tumblr or deviantART link.  FANMADE_Animated_Derpy_Hooves_desktop_ponies_sprite.gif Sig1.png Sig2.png  07:52, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, the mention on that page is more for reverse source finding, as in if the image is uploaded here and someone wants to know where it was found (other than using Google). Then they can maybe find that Derpibooru page and see the source there. I'll try to make that clearer on the page. Thanks, ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 07:56, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

New thumbnail page

Hey! I finally got around to working on the thumbnail page like you suggested. I started adding to the existing list, but afterwards I noticed that the page says to list in newest-to-oldest order (as opposed to oldest-to-newest, as is). Should I redo it, or is it fine the way it is? I wonder if oldest-to-newest would encourage users to scroll through older polls on the way to new ones, or if it would just be a hassle. Oakydoke (talk) 17:41, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, sorry, that sentence on the top was only a description of the list of plain links I put on the page. The actual gallery formatting can be whatever you think is best. Probably subsections for some sort of attribute like the current list has, and probably oldest to newest, yeah (I suggested that in the Updating section, wasn't sure). ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 22:29, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

Spelling and stuff

Sorry to come back with this, but the talk with ImperfectXIII didn't conclude, and I am still quite confused. Would you please be so kind as to give the final answer to the following ?

Is it correct to use "the Princess" when referring to Celestia without naming her,
"the princess" when talking about another one,
"the Princesses" when talking about Celestia+Luna or the 4 altogether,
but "the princesses" when another mix is used ?

On a totally different subject, how to know the average number of character additions amongst all edits of a user: the (+stuff), (0) and (-stuff) in special:contributions; some web magic, maybe ? would also search the average of (+x) alone, as well as the total of (0)'s and (-stuff)'s, not necessarily their average. Sensei, Thanks –  Drake  15:57, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Well, the WP link I gave answers some of it. Capitalize "Princess": "When a title is used to refer to a specific and obvious [pony] as a substitute for [her] name". When it's a combination, use "the princesses", I would think. Btw, just to make sure you're aware, the reason I always link to the WP MOS is because per FW:SG, that guide is used where ours is not specific. As for byte changes, that information doesn't seem to be available with the API, so one would have to scrape contributions pages manually with some program. That does sound interesting, but I have other projects at the moment. I'll see if I can get to it. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:36, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, um, please don't get me wrong, but the most specific question, and the one I am most dubious about is concerning the capitalization of "the Princesses". From what you say, when used as is, it may define both the Sisters – I guess that this is capitalizable too then – or all Alicorns. Sorry to take your time on this, just doesn't seem clear enough to me. I like to browse the WP:MoS too, but there are times where enough clarity isn't present for my brain. And no worry about that program stuff, I have but little idea of how it works. Thanks –  Drake  23:16, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think you'd ever capitalize "the princesses". It's never clearly referring to a certain, obvious set of characters. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 23:23, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
Bobo, I am sorry, but would the following sentence be correct ? "The Alicorns Princesses Celestia and Luna had tea with Rarity, who saluted the Sisters, [...] after a while, Celestia and Luna got back and she took her leave from the Princesses." You precised it would have to precisely refer to one unambiguous subject. For example in a caption with both sisters, would "The regal Sisters" be correct ? Sorry, I know this work by elimination is heavier but please bear with me, these are called Princess Stuff, not princess Whatever... Thanks –  Drake  00:00, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Don't capitalize sister, that's always a common noun. And I don't think plural subjects would receive the capitalization. I don't know and at this point I don't care since it's so hard to reason out. Feel free to Google grammar help sites and see if it's answered somewhere, otherwise I guess just leave lowercase when it doubt. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:05, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

Workshop derp

Weather tables – seriously, I don't know... used the createbox in http and blank page ... well it didn't move it. Please see to move appropriately. Thanks –  Drake  00:29, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, looks like it's a bug with Wikia's stupid new article creation box. You can just disable it in your preferences (bottom of the Editing tab) since it's pretty much useless and that would fix the workshop box. I'll contact them and see if there's a way to fix the createbox without changing the preference. If you want to keep the preference on then you can just go to the page you want to make yourself by changing the page name in the URL to "Project:Workshop/<whatever>". ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:05, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the change, and the fix. Which preferences option should I look for, precisely, default blank page ?

Would you suggest something better than lst for the article's purpose ? Also, I have a hard time figuring how to put the "expand" button just next to the title, and maybe with a more visible layout. I once found something here for it, but can't put the finger on it anymore... Thanks –  Drake  02:11, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

The very last one, disable create a new article flow. You're only using lst to repeat some short descriptions, it's not necessary to use in that case, and probably increases load time a good bit. Just copy-paste the text. You could use the following code for collapsing instead, it puts the expand link right next to the header. You could probably give it some margin to increase the space, I haven't tested it (the space at the end of the header is so the link is distinct from the text). ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 02:19, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
<div class="NavFrame">
<div class="NavHead">Header goes here </div>
<div class="NavContent">Content goes here</div>
Thanks for your patience. What's this "not recommended" stuff going to do, concretely ?

I understand the useless amount of load, do you know any simple html magic to repeat text ? You might have noticed that what I wrote is far from simple and concise, thus making is a pain to change. If this is definitely pointless, it will disappear at pollish.

I only know how to make a table which would manage margins. other than that, not sure what you mean. and the command works, but puts the button below the title... Not sure what the space is supposed to accomplish. Thanks –  Drake  02:46, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Not very much. It'll disable that popup that comes up when you use that createbox. If you've never seen that popup other than in that place, it will not affect you at all. Hence why I'm calling it useless and stupid. We don't use the other preload that comes with it. Don't worry about the margin thing unless you want to change how it looks. I fixed the location of the link. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 02:49, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Done, nothing broken that I hadn't already :p

You got me intrigued, how may its look be changed ? Also, thanks for the fix, how may it be initially collapsed ? The headers for the two last tables are a bit too much on the right, would a "position" style be a good idea, or just move the tables to the left ? Thanks –  Drake  02:58, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

Well, the link is added dynamically so not too much can be changed, but what I was saying was that if, for example, you put margin-right:1em on that heading, the link would be moved over. Not sure how much more can be done from the page code. I don't think there's a way to collapse NavFrames by default, though I use them here and they do it themselves with the same syntax :S. Not sure what you mean about the last two tables, they look fine to me. Could you specify what you mean? ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 03:07 (E 03:26), July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Nice, thanks. I guess it is "autocollapsible" – not sure about the spelling – by default, and needs some... motivation. Will see. I meant that the title is too much on the left – my bad – compared to the content of the part, which is centered.

I think I have a solution in using an invisible table with 2 or 3 columns of defined width to arrange the header at will. Seems an awful lot like something discouraged by CSS, but I don't know better and more stable yet... and still didn't find anything html or css to repeat text, but I guess a < style> < /style> may do the trick for a defined class of, say, headers :/ Thanks –  Drake  23:03, July 5, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, just give it a negative margin. In our site CSS, level-3 headings have 1em of padding and level-4 headings have 2em. So for example:
<div class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed"><div style="margin-left:-2em;">
====[[Season one]] episodes====
</div><div class="mw-collapsible-content">[etc.]
As for the text repeating, you would indeed need to store it somewhere, but why is that necessary? It doesn't seem an issue to me to copy and paste the descriptions. For using a style tag, you would need to use verbatim, which is excessive. I think the generally used method for your purpose would be a subpage with a #switch, but, again, only if it's actually necessary. The LST method seems to work and has the advantage of not requiring another page, though. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 23:47 (E 23:56), July 5, 2013 (UTC)
I understand, thanks a lot, will see :)
was just wondering how it was possible such a repetition function doesn't exist in html or css... Thanks –  Drake  17:15, July 6, 2013 (UTC)
Hey, look ! it is a messy code, takes ages to load, and moves when clicked :p
On the other hand, I finally don't find it completely ugly... Your advice to make it lighter, better, faster, stronger, more standard-compliant and stuff ? Oh, and it now has a sister; the more, the merrier ;) Thanks –  Drake  00:22, July 7, 2013 (UTC)
I'm sure you can use margins or something instead of a crapload of spaces. For the second one you should make the table captions into headers instead so the expand/collapse button doesn't go into the last cell of the regular headers. HTML and CSS don't have anything for copying text because that's not what they're intended for. JavaScript or backend page generation scripts is where that kind of thing would go. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 00:46, July 7, 2013 (UTC)
Tried a few things, failed miserably with anything else than the spaces. Ultimately found the light in margins, only one precise code could replace the spaces, as far as I know. Will see the layout for locations when done with weather, as it has pretty much the same end: the collapsible code used hasn't changed for a long time there. And ok, just began learning html and css, so not sure about js :p Thanks –  Drake  23:30, July 8, 2013 (UTC)

Hello :) would a GIF made of multiple following frames of the show be considered "fanmade", since it is technically just adding official pictures one after the other ? Not thinking about ones with captions and skipped frames, but stuff like this – which is cropped and LQ even in original size, but not missing any intermediary frame – ? Thanks –  Drake  23:03, July 5, 2013 (UTC)

According to Category:Animated images, "It is not clear at this time whether animated show frames should be labeled 'FANMADE'." It has been discussed at least once. (7)6(four) (talk) 23:28, July 5, 2013 (UTC)
Indeed. I think so far all of the gifs meeting the criteria you specified are not labeled fanmade, so might as well keep with that consistency. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 23:47, July 5, 2013 (UTC)
Got it. May I reopen the forum to propose a precise rule to establish ? Thanks –  Drake  17:15, July 6, 2013 (UTC)
Oops, it looks like the forum actually was in favor of not marking them fanmade and I just never updated the category. Maybe it's in the guidelines somewhere, but I fixed the category description. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 19:50, July 6, 2013 (UTC)
Done, should the SD attribute be put in title ? Thanks –  Drake  15:16, July 11, 2013 (UTC)
Nah, it's fine as it is. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:20, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Tabber Images

Hi Bobo. Remember when you said on the forum that we could add a tabber to pages that we see fit, like Philomena for her two forms? I would like to do that, but I would need you or another admin to add the template to the other infoboxes. Ravenclaw is awesome!PowerStar89 Talk 16:29, July 7, 2013 (UTC)

Nevermind, Jonny Manz did it. PowerStar89 (talk) 18:55, July 7, 2013 (UTC)
Ugh, I didn't remember there were separate infoboxes. What an unnecessary mess. Too bad I don't have time to do anything anymore. Oh well, thanks for your suggestions during the process, feel free to use the tabs on any page that needs them and let me know if any adjustments need to be made or anything. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:30, July 7, 2013 (UTC)

Sly Fan

Hey, Bobogoobo, there's a user named Sly Fan and on his blog of "The Lone Ranger", he sended the video of a crying baby to me, thus offending me by calling me a whiner, and he hurt my feelings. Could you please do something about this? -- Yami9000 (talk) 18:30, July 7, 2013 (UTC)

You were being very aggressive. I recommend saying your piece on this forum on the subject and leaving it at that. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:32, July 8, 2013 (UTC)
But Sly Fan offended me, for sending that "crying baby" video to me. That's an insult to the other users. Why won't you give him a warning as well? -- Yami9000 (talk) 18:37, July 7, 2013 (UTC)
If he consistently displays that kind of behavior, I would warn him. I don't know if he does, but one time like that isn't really worth a warning to me. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:53, July 8, 2013 (UTC)
Also you should stop working people up in comments - this is not the first time someone has retaliated against you for you making insulting remarks, if you were nicer in your comments then no one would have an issue. -- Ozuzanna (Talk) 07:12, July 8, 2013 (UTC)

Remember DevilX90? Take a look at his global masthead and then take a look at Yami9000's. What do you think? (Yes I'm quite sure they're the same people - check their contribs, similar patterns in behavior and whatnot). -- Ozuzanna (Talk) 07:30, July 8, 2013 (UTC)

Colours and lines

Hello mister wizard, would you please be so kind as to tell me where I could find the exact color codes used by, say, TOC's ?
Also, is there a html or css way to make a segment between defined coordinated on a page, for example defining something like < line 10px 10px 20px 20px 2px blue dotted /> or < line anchor1 anchor2 1px red solid /> ? Is there any way at all, even via other means ? Thanks –  Drake  11:37, July 9, 2013 (UTC)

Well, you can either try to find it somewhere in Wikia's CSS, which I don't recommend because it takes forever (I don't know if it's possible to get the unminified version, for one thing), or you can use an addon like ColorZilla to get the color right from the page. For a line, depends what you need it for. You could use an hr with the width and height specified, or a table (a td with no content acts similarly to an hr, except that you can also use border properties), or use fixed positioning if that's what you mean. If you can't figure it out, try to describe what you want and I can take a crack at it. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:46, July 9, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Bobo. Ha, I'd be ashamed not to know a function I use in my own Sig ;) And how do you find wikia's css ? Thanks for the tip, will see this extension if going through source code doesn't work... for the moment, I'm wondering where the table class "toc" is defined – searching for the exact color used in and around the tocs, which I guess is respectively none and silver, but to be sure... And no, sorry, I am not searching for an horizontal or vertical line... I would like one from precisely one fixed x1,y1 point to another x2,y2 point, be it two pixel coordinates precised in position absolute, two anchors, or something else. Could also be "x1,y1 xpx ypx" – vector style – or "x1,y1 a b xpx" – length of specific y=ax+b function from point – or a table's cell's diagonal, or anything else, I don't care as long as something exists... people have told me one could make and play our modern 3D games with the graal that is HTML5+CSS+JS, but I can't even have an oblique line with the first 2 -,- so far found this so far<span style="position:relative"><hr style="transform:rotate(30deg);width:50px;position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;">          </span>, which is horrible and messy. Also found this, but very heavy, and doesn't seem to work on the wiki. <svg xmlns="" version="1.1"><circle cx="100" cy="50" r="40" stroke="black" stroke-width="2" fill="red"/></svg> Thanks –  Drake  19:33, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
I usually "find" the CSS by looking through the page source and finding things that end in .css or .scss. In this case, look for oasis.scss, and I'm pretty sure one or more of the statements in there is what you're looking for (search for ".toc"). Ah, I see what you mean now. The first solution is probably what you need...I haven't played with that much, but I don't know of any other solution using code only. For the second one, you'd probably have to use verbatim tags. You can try it if you want, that would be pretty neat if it works. What are you using this for, by the way? Can't say I've seen anyone use svg markup on a wiki before :P. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 20:30, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
As discussed. tried this : User:0drake0/Line-svg, results here : User:0drake0/Sandbox. I'd say verbatim refuses the "/". Your advice ? Thanks –  Drake  05:02, July 11, 2013 (UTC)
Verbatim tags use MediaWiki pages, I don't think there's any way to use a different namespace (as that would be prone to abuse). I think only admins can edit MW pages, so I guess I could make those for you. Contact me in Skype and I'll take care of it. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:20, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

For future reference, we as wiki admins/users don't need to deal with this unless the user is causing trouble. All you should do is report it to Wikia so they can disable the account. It's also questionably moral and legal to ask a user their age when you suspect them of being underage, but meh, Wikia haven't published any official guidelines on the matter that I'm aware of. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:46, July 9, 2013 (UTC)

What caused me to disable my account, is i decided to have a little fun with a page on Bronies wiki about a murderous, child-like version of Surprise that was to be deleted, from a gore filled fic, that was able to completely regenerate from any wound fatal or not, l uploaded a image showing Surprise in G1, l refused to stop trying to help others, and that caused Bleck11 to block me there, and have been called a troll by AngelinBlack424.--Daipenmon (talk) 11:22, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

[X0 rainbow dash x]

Bobogoobo, why do you always edit every picture I add, and any words I change to the wiki? I understand you are an admin, but it gets trule 1000% annoying. —Preceding unsigned comment added by X0 rainbow dash x (talkcontribs) 01:28, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Because I like to make sure everything is consistent and follows our guidelines and style guide. I'm sorry if I annoy you, and if you have any specific questions about policies that I can answer I would be happy to do so. Sometimes I remove a little more than necessary because I don't want to spend time looking through it all and copying over anything I want to keep. But in general, looking at how things that are similar to what you want to add are worded/formatted and doing something similar would be part of making sure things are kept. Sometimes I might get a little overzealous on removing things, so feel free to challenge my edits or ask other admins, as long as I know about the discussion so I can justify what I do. Hope this explains it a bit. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:35, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
Um Hi. Why do you edit MY pages and MY edits so much? Although you are an admin, I really wish you weren't an admin. You always edit almost anything I do. 01:42, July 10, 2013 (UTC)Rainbow dash
Don't take it personally, I edit things a lot of people do. I explained above. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:46, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Why do you pick on ME, and always delete my pictures? And what do you mean I often post pictures I don't plan on using? How am I supposed to use them? I wish you weren't an admin at all. X0 rainbow dash x (talk) 03:22, July 10, 2013 (UTC)Rainbow

I'm not picking on anyone. You should see how many people I've warned about images. You sometimes upload images that remain unused for a day or more, which leads to them getting deleted. This isn't an image repository like Photobucket or whatever, images need to have a purpose (which could include being used on your user page or something like that). If you'd prefer a wiki that is disorganized and anarchic, so be it, but I'm an admin because enough people approved of my work. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 03:26, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Oh I see. So how do I end up not getting my pictures deleted? Do I add them to my page? Or do I add them to different List of ponies? I'll be careful about what I post, but it seems some other users post weirder pictures than I did and they end up not getting their pictures deleted. X0 rainbow dash x (talk) 03:40, July 10, 2013 (UTC)Rainbow

Oh, yes. Another question, how do you become an admin? Do you have to earn a lot of badges at be ranked around the top #1~20?

Yeah, as long as at least one page uses the images, they won't be deleted (assuming they're not against other guidelines). Your user page is a good place for ones you want to keep, if you must keep them here. People usually go through the unused images once a day or so, so you can't wait too long to use them. No, admins don't necessarily have to have any badges. Per Project:Administrators#Bestowing administrator rights, approval by forum discussion is all that is required. It takes a lot of effort and dedication to the wiki for people to be likely to approve a candidate, though. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 03:49, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry, it's not that I try to insert a duplicate image, but I don't really know if a picture I'm about to upload is already there or not. By the way, do you spend about half your whole day at this wiki? You seem to be on this wiki awfully a lot. X0 rainbow dash x (talk) 04:28, July 10, 2013 (UTC)Rainbow dash

Shh, don't question the vigilance! Mods become pure energy when they are given moddom, and require no susteance to survive. They constantly patrol, and fear becoming mortal again, only being caused by being demoted. In other words, I've been wondering that, too. The Candlekeeper (talk) 04:39, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I can understand. In some cases it would be really hard to tell, especially if it's a fanmade image, since you can't find those by looking in the mainspace. Sometimes I spend five minutes, sometimes I spend several hours, it depends (on how much I find to clean up :P). My days are strange. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 20:30, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Problem with source template

I had tried to use Template:Source for the source of File:Crystal empire set.jpg, but it wouldn't work; any idea why? (7)6(four) (talk) 01:36, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

The equals sign, which the template interprets as specifying an additional parameter in the template. Use it like this: {{source|1=linkgoeshere}}. Hold off on that, though; I'll see if I can get around it. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:38, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
Never mind, that wouldn't work. You can use the workaround I said above (and on the template page, I guess not noticeably enough), or just a bare link like it is now since the template doesn't have anything special for Facebook currently. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:46, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
Used the workaround; thanks (also, facepalm at myself for my not noticing that workaround being pointed out on the template page) (7)6(four) (talk) 02:04, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
Not a problem, I don't really expect most people to read all that. This is one problem I can't fix because it happens in the page code parser, but let me know if you find anything else or think of ways it could be improved. Thanks, ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 02:08, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Poll age issues

Hey there! Nearly done with the thumbnail page, so I guess we'll be putting it in action soon... however, I just discovered a problem with the polls. Apparently, you can't vote on a post that is already 6 months old... thus, the maximum age for a poll is really 5 months, as 6 month polls are mostly archived. So can I delete the 6 month old polls on the thumbnail workshop page? And, while I realize you can't alone make a decision, should we consider raising the deadline to 5 months so people can actually vote on all the listed polls?

Oh, and if you're looking for an example, try upvoting at this poll. Oakydoke (talk) 14:16, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Sweet, thanks for working on that. Changing it to five months and removing six month ones sounds good in that case. And yeah we should change the policy in that case; could you start a forum discussion on it? ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 21:20, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Hello Bobo I wanted to ask you how can I make my signature like yours ????? Raili02 (talk) 14:30, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Mine's pretty simple, and you can see the code in the page source. You'll probably want to make a page for your signature (for example, mine is at User:Bobogoobo/sig) and use your preferences to put it on the page (others who do the same can help you with that, and I can help if you need it to do different things on different wikis). The point of a signature is to make your messages recognizable, so don't make it too similar to anyone else's signature. Hope this helps a bit. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 20:17, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for informing me about that. I appreciate it. So next time I give a descriptive title to my image, for example: if I upload a picture of a personality quiz I can put: BlueJay's Personality Quiz results and that will be fine, correct?

It would also need "FANMADE " before it ("FANMADE BlueJay's Personality Quiz results"), because it contains MLP content in non-official material. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:23, July 20, 2013 (UTC)
