==All Transcripts on a Single Page==
== Help with implementing popup images on another wiki. ==

Hello, Bobogoobo.
+
Hi Bobogoobo,

  +
Do you know how the "all transcripts on a single page" page works? There's no source code to view for it.[[User:Fluffbrain|Fluffbrain]] ([[User talk:Fluffbrain|talk]]) 00:43, January 14, 2020 (UTC)
I am from another wiki on which I am fairly active. I have done a lot of the coding there but nothing spectacular.

  +
:Yes, the source code is [[MediaWiki:Common.js/Transcripts.js|here]]. I believe there are some bugs with it at the moment that I haven't fixed. <span style="border:1px solid #FCF4A4; padding:3px;">~[[User:Bobogoobo|Bobogoobo]] ([[User talk:Bobogoobo|talk]]) {{filepath:Lyra speaks S2E25.png|40}} <span style="color:#558ABE;">01:42, January 14, 2020 (UTC)</span></span>

:I see, thank you.[[User:Fluffbrain|Fluffbrain]] ([[User talk:Fluffbrain|talk]]) 02:06, January 14, 2020 (UTC)

I've another question - what is the template used to generate song lyrics in transcripts, such as <nowiki>{{#lst:What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me|song}}</nowiki>?[[User:Fluffbrain|Fluffbrain]] ([[User talk:Fluffbrain|talk]]) 06:57, January 14, 2020 (UTC)
  +
:It uses an extension called [[mw:Extension:Labeled Section Transclusion|Labeled Section Transclusion]]. You may need to contact Wikia to enable it, depending on the wiki you want to use it on. <span style="border:1px solid #FCF4A4; padding:3px;">~[[User:Bobogoobo|Bobogoobo]] ([[User talk:Bobogoobo|talk]]) {{filepath:Lyra speaks S2E25.png|40}} <span style="color:#558ABE;">08:15, January 14, 2020 (UTC)</span></span>

==[Family Tree]==
When I came on this wiki, I noticed that when you hover over the link of a character, an image would pop up. I thought it would be a great thing to implement on the wiki I am on. I've tried to dig through the coding for it, but I cannot understand how it works and I wondered if it would be possible to get some help from you to implement this functionality to the wiki.

  +
Hello there! I'm Halo. I was wondering if you could maybe organize someone to make family trees for the ponies? I would offer to do it myself but I have never done anything like that before and I don't want to stuff things up. Sorry if I sound rude. I only realized there were no family tree pages for any ponies. I was watching the episode Baby Cakes and I realized that the Cakes had unicorn and pegasus heritage in their family trees and I thought ''it would be interesting to see what other ponies family trees have in them''. Oh, sorry I am getting ahead of myself. Anyways, thank you for your time.

actually nevermind my request is still requested as I see the family and relatives page is quite hard to read and a family tree right on the ponies personal page will probably work better. no offence meant btw these are just ideas

:You'd be better off with a simpler implementation (that's more bug-free). If you're willing to use a template or inline styles to do it, you can accomplish it using only CSS, or something like RuneScape Wiki [[w:c:runescape:MediaWiki:Common.js/tooltips.js|uses]]. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else is available, so I could help write something simpler to fit your needs. If you have a small number of characters it would be much easier to hardcode the page names and image URLs. Happy echditing, <span style="border:1px solid #9FE7FF; padding:3px;">~[[User:Bobogoobo|Bobogoobo]] ([[User talk:Bobogoobo|talk]]) {{filepath:Lyra speaks S2E25.png|40}} <span style="color:#558ABE;">17:01, July 31, 2016 (UTC)</span></span>

:No offense taken! If you click the "More info" box in the infobox on a pony's page, it will show information on their relatives. That might be the best we can do, since a full family tree would be hard to format on a wiki. But if you want to work out some ideas, you can always edit [[Special:MyPage/sandbox|your sandbox]] and it won't mess anything up. Feel free to ask for help if you need it. And if you have suggestions to make [[family and relatives]] easier to read, ideas are always welcome.   +
Hello there!<br />
  +
How are you doing? I'm sharing with you an important message about the upcoming United Community Platform (UCP) this year. As you know, FANDOM and Gamepedia will receive a huge renovation for improvements of editor/user/visitor experience planned to allow all extensions currently available to the MediaWiki engine. And due to that, the community will be going through phases of the development. To stay up to date about these upcoming changes, the [[w:c:community:User_blog:MisterWoodhouse/Unified_Community_Platform:_The_Vision,_Purpose,_and_Process|blog]] is available for you to reference. Additionally, please be on the lookout for UCP phase releases and keep the users informed. This is top priority, so making sure you know about this will make the transition smoother for you and the community. For any questions and others, as always, please don't hesitate to message me about them, and I will be happy to answer them for you!

Could you add "Legend of Everfree" to the EG film chronology? (I already made updates of a sort to [[Template:Infobox Transcript]] and [[Template:Infobox film]].) ::They mean the Wiki feature that a number of Wikis use in favor of standard forums. To answer your question, DellaDuckLover2004, that is not a currently enabled feature on this Wiki.
I noticed that successive parameters in {{T|Infobox film}} don't show up unless the preceding parameter is filled. Like, if "music" is filled but "writer" isn't, "music" isn't visible. Is there a way to fix this, or does it have to do with the way the infobox's rows are set up and it has to be rewritten from scratch? Because I tried working around it and got a "'''Too many parameters'''" error. {{User:ImperfectXIII/Sig}} 03:42, June 12, 2017 (UTC)

==Request to Delete My Stuff==

Hi there. Sorry if I'm troubling you, but do you think you or someone else could delete my activity on this Wiki (talk pages, comments, whatever else can be gotten rid of)? I'm disabling my account and want to clean up some of the junk I left behind. I joined when I was quite young unfortunately, ahaha.
Hi, just curious, are you still maintaining [[w:c:dev:HighlightUsers|HighlightUsers]]? <code>'''[[User_talk:Leviathan_89|leviathan_89]]'''</code> <helper/> 19:51, October 18, 2016 (UTC)

:Not particularly, I've been really busy lately and haven't had much time for scripting. Feel free to take it over if you or another active coder would like to. Someone also made some similar suggestions to yours on my talk page [[w:c:lyrics:User talk:Bobogoobo#HighlightUsers|here]]. The link to show the full list of references to http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/File:Applejack_%22not_a_real_word%22_EG.png on its page is broken, apparently by the first double quote in the filename. Ran into a bit of a roadblock updating the episode list in [[Template:Nameconvert/list]]. Infoboxes on season 7 episode pages are generating an "'''Expression error'''". :Cool, sorry it's so complicated hehe. I just fixed one thing, you removed the "|0" at the end of one line in EPS which is needed for certain calculations. I tried to make some of the documentation a little more clear. By the way, I imagine it's annoying to have to do [[Special:Diff/1816402|this digging]] through code when adding a new season, and there are probably other places that need it too. Could you add an exception to [[Template:Infobox episode]]'s "Previous" and "Next" fields to account for [[Surf and/or Turf]]? I'm pretty sure it's causing an expression error because of the forward-slash in the title. Thanks. {{User:ImperfectXIII/Sig}} 15:16, February 28, 2018 (UTC)

Your TopEditors script will work at UCP?

::I'd actually have to make a relatively major update to the underlying episode querying templates to account for this (because they're coded to take only one segment of the page name, and the software treats this title as two segments), which would make them harder to use and update in the future. I think it's fine to just manually use the previous and next parameters of the infobox for this, since it's a special case. Everything else seems to work fine, but renaming it and using displaytitle is a sensible suggestion. <span style="border:1px solid #61A84A; padding:3px;">~[[User:Bobogoobo|Bobogoobo]] ([[User talk:Bobogoobo|talk]]) {{filepath:Lyra speaks S2E25.png|40}} <span style="color:#558ABE;">20:50, February 28, 2018 (UTC)</span></span>

:I'm not sure. Has something recently changed with how YouTube videos are embedded in Wikia infoboxes? I'm not sure when it started, but YouTube video thumbnails have stopped appearing in infoboxes on pages I load through Firefox, and while they do appear in Internet Explorer, the bottom of the thumbnail reads "The YouTube Flash API was officially deprecated on January 27th, 2015." [[User:(7)6(four)|(7)6(four)]] ([[User talk:(7)6(four)|talk]]) 00:45, April 14, 2017 (UTC)

:It's because the "length" column isn't where the script expects it to be for that table, so the multiple lead singers (i.e. the commas in that cell) make it get treated as a multiple-part song. I just specified the data-lyric-section as a workaround, not worth accounting for it in the script unless it becomes a more common problem. The Books table wasn't working either, so I fixed that by adding a new attribute, which should only be necessary for that case. Hopefully everything works now (once the revision is approved), thanks for pointing it out. <span style="border:1px solid #FAB3D1; padding:3px;">~[[User:Bobogoobo|Bobogoobo]] ([[User talk:Bobogoobo|talk]]) {{filepath:Lyra speaks S2E25.png|40}} <span style="color:#558ABE;">03:17, April 14, 2017 (UTC)</span></span>

There's a bug I think needs to be fixed in the Full List of Ponies. In some rows, all information is shifted a column, sometimes multiple columns, to the right. <p style="font-weight:normal;">Hello! </p>

Hi there! I'm Kylara, and I'm a member of the <staff /> [[w:Help:Wiki Representatives|Wiki Representatives]] team with the Movies/TV vertical. Fandom is doing some internal reorganizing with its teams, I'll be picking up as the community's Wiki Rep (formerly named Wiki Manager). Just like with Nightsilver before me, I'm here to help and support the community, so let me know if you have any questions. Nightsilver has given me notes on the wiki and its community to get me up to speed, and it sounds like you're very well-developed and stable, but I'd love to hear from you about your thoughts on it. So how's it been going around here on My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Wiki? Have any concerns or hopes or wish-list items? Any issues or changes you'd like to see here or are currently working on?
<p style="font-weight:normal;">We would like to update your animated shorts section to include the motion design artists who created both "Baby Flurryheart's Heartfelt Scrapbook" and "Rarity's Peek Behind the Boutique".  We are: Nicole Chudy, Senior Motion Designer and Emily Cotelless, Motion Designer.  (We both w<span style="font-weight:normal;">ork at Hasbro's internal studio, Cake Mix Studio)</span></p>

The Monthly - I wanted to check in to make sure that you haven't missed an email sent to you, inviting you to ''The Monthly'', a private webinar-style event hosted by our Global Community Lead, Will 'MisterWoodhouse' Kavanagh. This series will cover important topics affecting the wiki platform, giving a briefing from Fandom. The first edition is tomorrow, Friday at 9am EST, and again at 4pm EST. The email was sent to the email associated with your Fandom account. I'm also on Discord, and I can DM you the info if you need it.

Policies - I also wanted to make sure you saw the recent staff blog on [[w:User blog:MisterWoodhouse/Introducing the Wiki Rules and Blocking Policy|Wiki Rules and Blocking Policy]]. I checked the wiki's [[Project:Guidelines|guidelines page]], and it looks pretty good. It's still a good time to do a full policy review, and it if there's anything you tend to block for that might be unexpected, please make sure it's stated clearly.

:Hey there, thanks for the introduction. I'm glad they renamed the position. ImperfectXIII does most of the policing, especially now that comments are in a separate stream. I used to glance over them, but now I don't usually switch over to the Social Activity tab on RC. We had a few issues documented at [[Forum:UCP migration]], but I haven't been keeping track of what was fixed and what wasn't. We also have some pages to adjust after "tee dot co" links were banned and editors started getting locked out of pages. Right now I'm mainly just here to fix/update code when necessary. My only wishlist item is a better design for the source editor page. For example, the header is very unhelpful and could have a link back to the page you're editing like it used to, as opposed to how the only link back right now is the scary red Cancel link. Oh, and it looks like we don't even get an email for talk page messages anymore, only in the little notifications icon that's easy to miss. Thanks and good luck in your position. <span style="border:1px solid #FAB3D1; padding:3px;">~[[User:Bobogoobo|Bobogoobo]] ([[User talk:Bobogoobo|talk]]) {{filepath:Lyra speaks S2E25.png|40}} <span style="color:#558ABE;">10:12, February 26, 2021 (UTC)</span></span>

I have a preference for the VisualEditor - source mode with the editing toolbar enabled, I like the options better, if that helps.

If there are any particular UCP bugs that have been particularly annoying, please let me know and I can ensure they are properly ticketed so they'll get reviewed.
I'm trying to get colors added to the "rating" column on the tables [[User_blog:Fluffbrain/Fluffbrain's_List_O'_Ratings|in my rating blog]]. I asked Jonny Manz about it [[User talk:Jonny Manz|on his talk page]] since he managed to get colors in his tables using the #ifexpr function, however my rating system uses whole numbers which may include -'s and +'s attached to them, such as 3+, which is something I can't seem to get #ifexpr to recognize. I tried adding the + symbol in the same cell after the template, but unfortunately that seems to not only place it as if after a br/ but also include within the text of the cell the || necessary to enter text into the next column, so any ratings that involve a - or + will have a cell that looks like this:

Hey again, I'm reaching out to community admin to gather feedback regarding the upcoming change to the desktop skin, called FandomDesktop, to help our team address any early concerns before we get to rollout and testing. Check out [[w:User_blog:MisterWoodhouse/Introducing_FandomDesktop,_the_new_look_and_feel_for_desktop_users|this staff blog]] if you haven't yet, and let me know your thoughts?
http://www.perbang.dk/rgb/06E500/ is erroneously linked to from—though not displayed in place of—other colors when an in-URL HEX value contains any lowercase letter(s), so would it be possible for [[Template:Perbang]] to use span style="text-transform:uppercase;" as a workaround?   +
Some notable portions:
== Wiki-background ==

  +
* Light and Dark modes - A wiki can basically have two theme options, and users can pick their preference.
I want to create a background or two for the Wiki for the theatrical release of [[My Little Pony The Movie]]. Does [[:File:Wiki-background]] represent the most ideal dimensions for said background? {{User:ImperfectXIII/Sig}} 01:47, September 8, 2017 (UTC)

  +
* Fluid width - The content area can be expanded, and the right rail can also be collapsed, for a wider article page.
:See [[w:Help:Background]] for a detailed explanation of how it works - if you're okay with the default behavior (keep in mind our current background is anchored to the bottom of the viewport using CSS), then it would be easier to use a less wide image so it can be split automatically. A height of 1080px or slightly under should be good though. <span style="border:1px solid #CE3254; padding:3px;">~[[User:Bobogoobo|Bobogoobo]] ([[User talk:Bobogoobo|talk]]) {{filepath:Lyra speaks S2E25.png|40}} <span style="color:#558ABE;">01:55, September 9, 2017 (UTC)</span></span>

  +
* Global navigation - Instead of being on the top as it is now, it will be placed as a narrow bar on the left.
  +
* Local top navigation - This will now scroll with you as you move down the page, so you don't have to scroll back to the top to access the wiki's main navigate.
  +
* Header - Backgrounds are basically being replaced with a wide top header image.

  +
Some pretty big changes coming up. So if you have any thoughts or feedback or concerns, either good and bad, please let me know!

:Sounds like it'll improve a lot of things I've found clunky about the interface. Good to see some moves forward. == Wikitable/template issues ==

Do you know if there's something up with the standard wikitable syntax or some of the Wiki's templates? I've found that, while editing certain pages/character lists, some data gets inexplicably lost upon switching from Visual Mode to Source Mode, and it instantly breaks the table format (it sometimes depends upon the browser being used; I've noticed this on Chrome and Firefox but not Internet Explorer). Try editing [[List of non-pony characters/Griffons]] as an example, and maybe you'll see what I mean.

Something else I've noticed is that, upon switching from Visual Mode to Source Mode, certain Wiki templates behave... strangely, for lack of a better description. {{T|Cellanchor}} will remove any text next to it (thus creating the tabling issue above), {{T|TOC limit}} and {{T|clr}} get moved to different lines for some reason, line breaks between {{T|quote}}s are erased, etc. Try editing [[Applejack (EG)]] for an example of this.

Pages with complex code that remain locked in Source Mode while editing don't seem to have an issue, but pages that load in Visual Mode do. I don't know if it's just a problem with my own browser, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Has something changed recently? Is there a way to bypass Visual Mode and open the Visual Editor in Source Mode from the start? {{User:ImperfectXIII/Sig}} 14:57, January 31, 2018 (UTC)

== Fundamentals of Magic! ==

Hello again!

I was wondering if it were possible to add credits to the new MLP digital shorts, Celestia's Fundamentals of Magic.  They would be the same as Rarity's Peek Behind the Boutique and Baby Flurryheart's Heartfelt Scrapbook (Nicole Chudy as senior motion designer and Emily Cotellessa as motion designer).

Thank you!

== Implementation of a code ==

Hello,

I was told that you are one of the users in-charge of MLP wiki's coding and CSS. Therefore, I wish to ask you for a small favour about a certain feature here of MLP wiki that I like to add into another wiki which I'm an admin of.

'''In desktop mode, when one hover the cursor to certain links, an image would pop up above the link'''. May I get the code which is able to do this (in pre-text form <nowiki><code>Blah</code></nowiki>)? And which MediaWiki page am I suppose to implement it in?

I am looking forward to a positive reply from you. Thanks. :D

:I'm not Bobogoobo and I don't know exactly how it works on this wiki, but there is a similar code available at dev wiki here: https://dev.wikia.com/wiki/LinkPreview They might function a little differently, so be careful. The main difference is, AFAIK, that in the MLP version you manually select which image will represent the article, whereas with the dev (or should I say, Russian Borderlands' version) it's chosen automatically. If you do choose that one, then I at least recommend changing the "noimage" variable, unless your wiki is in Russian. :The script is highly specific to this wiki and is also in a beta state, so unless you know JavaScript, it would be a whole lot easier to use something from the dev wiki, or another MediaWiki source, like what Vengir linked to. I can't recall if there are other options that are currently maintained; perhaps you could also ask in the Wikia Community forums. (@Vengir: the script on this wiki does choose the image automatically as well, based on some predefined categories.) On the full page the code starts screwing up around the start of the mentioned characters list (with [[List of ponies#Medallion Gold|Medallion Gold]] and [[List of ponies#Rosy Pearl|Rosy Pearl]] also messing up a little), but the code on the individual pages seems fine. Most of the problems are either <nowiki>align="left" ></nowiki> appearing in the description box or the box being pushed one over, as seen in an example on [[List of ponies#Feldspar Granite Pie|Feldspar]]. Thought I would let you know and see what the problem is. {{User:Shadowdemon137/Sig}} 01:14, August 25, 2018 (UTC)

==Wiki Manager Introduction==

Greetings! My name is SilverFlight, here to help the community as its Wiki Manager. My mission is to assist in any way I can and be a liaison to full-time Fandom staff. If you ever have a question or issue relating to the wiki, editing, etc., please contact me on my talk page.

In addition, I'm happy to inform you that Fandom is upgrading its MediaWiki platform to accommodate MediaWiki extensions. You can read more about here on the [[w:c:community:User blog:MisterWoodhouse/Fandom is upgrading to a modern version of MediaWiki|blog post]].

You should have a section for villains. Significant villains, minor villains, reformed villains, including diamond tiara and silver spoon. That would be exciting for us. Also put them in chronological order. Thank you.

All Transcripts on a Single Page

Hi Bobogoobo,

Do you know how the "all transcripts on a single page" page works? There's no source code to view for it.Fluffbrain (talk) 00:43, January 14, 2020 (UTC)

Yes, the source code is here. I believe there are some bugs with it at the moment that I haven't fixed. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:42, January 14, 2020 (UTC)
I see, thank you.Fluffbrain (talk) 02:06, January 14, 2020 (UTC)

I've another question - what is the template used to generate song lyrics in transcripts, such as {{#lst:What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me|song}}?Fluffbrain (talk) 06:57, January 14, 2020 (UTC)

It uses an extension called Labeled Section Transclusion. You may need to contact Wikia to enable it, depending on the wiki you want to use it on. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 08:15, January 14, 2020 (UTC)

[Family Tree]

Hello there! I'm Halo. I was wondering if you could maybe organize someone to make family trees for the ponies? I would offer to do it myself but I have never done anything like that before and I don't want to stuff things up. Sorry if I sound rude. I only realized there were no family tree pages for any ponies. I was watching the episode Baby Cakes and I realized that the Cakes had unicorn and pegasus heritage in their family trees and I thought it would be interesting to see what other ponies family trees have in them. Oh, sorry I am getting ahead of myself. Anyways, thank you for your time. Halo :) QueenHalo (talk) 10:59, February 22, 2020 (UTC)

actually nevermind I just found the family and relatives page aha silly me

QueenHalo (talk) 11:02, February 22, 2020 (UTC)

actually nevermind my request is still requested as I see the family and relatives page is quite hard to read and a family tree right on the ponies personal page will probably work better. no offence meant btw these are just ideas

by halo QueenHalo (talk) 11:07, February 22, 2020 (UTC)

No offense taken! If you click the "More info" box in the infobox on a pony's page, it will show information on their relatives. That might be the best we can do, since a full family tree would be hard to format on a wiki. But if you want to work out some ideas, you can always edit your sandbox and it won't mess anything up. Feel free to ask for help if you need it. And if you have suggestions to make family and relatives easier to read, ideas are always welcome. Thanks! ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 02:12, February 23, 2020 (UTC)

UCP

Hello there!
To stay up to date about these upcoming changes, the blog is available for you to reference. Additionally, please be on the lookout for UCP phase releases and keep the users informed. This is top priority, so making sure you know about this will make the transition smoother for you and the community. For any questions and others, as always, please don't hesitate to message me about them, and I will be happy to answer them for you!

What kind of discussions do you mean? ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 03:20, April 28, 2020 (UTC)
They mean the Wiki feature that a number of Wikis use in favor of standard forums. To answer your question, DellaDuckLover2004, that is not a currently enabled feature on this Wiki.

Request to Delete My Stuff

CupcakeCrazy43 (talk) 17:34, June 4, 2020 (UTC)

I know what you mean. I think I can delete all your page comments and blog comments, and blogs you're created, but just so you know we keep any user talk page messages that you've left or received. Will try to do this later today. Happy trails :) ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 00:00, June 5, 2020 (UTC)

Question

How did you put the wiki background on bottom? The Indonesian version of the wiki is not working. --Ivan the Brony Kaiju (t - b - c) 10:38, June 17, 2020 (UTC)

These lines in MediaWiki:Common.css should do it:
/* Bottom anchor background image */
body.background-dynamic:after,
body.background-dynamic:before {
    bottom: 0 !important;
    top: inherit !important;
}

You'll need to contact Fandom to request that it be added to the Interwiki map for your language's wiki. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 09:03, June 21, 2020 (UTC)

I re-edited the message

It wasn't my intention to be rude.

I always try to be as polite and friendly as possible on this wiki.

May God bless you.

TopEditors script

Your TopEditors script will work at UCP?

Thanks in advance —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bumbarek (talkcontribs)

I'm not sure. An old comment on the talk page says there might be a change affecting it, but this would also affect numerous other scripts by me and other users, so in that case maybe someone will run an automated update to those scripts. I don't have the time or interest to look at all of them, sorry. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 08:02, September 26, 2020 (UTC)

So page at DevWiki, saying that TopEditors script is ready for UCP, misleading or not? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bumbarek (talkcontribs)

I'm not sure who added that, it wasn't me. The talk page message only says it might need a change, so I asked if that's still accurate. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 00:30, September 27, 2020 (UTC)

Hope that script will work. I think it makes main page at any wiki more "alive". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bumbarek (talkcontribs)

End of the Year Review!

Hi there! It's been a unique and challenging year for everyone, and because of that, Fandom is debating about how to move forward in 2021. I would greatly appreciate you filling out this form with your feedback about your experience on the platform this year, so we can get a sense of how we did, how we can improve, and what our focus should be for 2021. This survey will be totally anonymous, so we encourage you to be as honest and constructive as possible.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to provide us with your thoughts and feedback. If you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to send those my way and I will be more than happy to help you!

List of ponies bug

There's a bug I think needs to be fixed in the Full List of Ponies. In some rows, all information is shifted a column, sometimes multiple columns, to the right. And no sideways scroll bar is available either.

New Wiki Rep & a few things

Hi there! I'm Kylara, and I'm a member of the Wiki Representatives team with the Movies/TV vertical.

The Monthly - I wanted to check in to make sure that you haven't missed an email sent to you, inviting you to The Monthly, a private webinar-style event hosted by our Global Community Lead, Will 'MisterWoodhouse' Kavanagh.

Policies - I also wanted to make sure you saw the recent staff blog on Wiki Rules and Blocking Policy. I checked the wiki's guidelines page, and it looks pretty good. It's still a good time to do a full policy review, and it if there's anything you tend to block for that might be unexpected, please make sure it's stated clearly.

Discord - I'm also a member of your wiki's Discord, so feel free to ping me or DM me. Is there an admin/mod channel where we might be able to talk on there? It could be easier to discuss things with you and the other admin all together.

Let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to working with you and the community!

– KylaraE  (talk) 01:15, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Hey there, thanks for the introduction. I'm glad they renamed the position. ImperfectXIII does most of the policing, especially now that comments are in a separate stream. I used to glance over them, but now I don't usually switch over to the Social Activity tab on RC. We had a few issues documented at Forum:UCP migration, but I haven't been keeping track of what was fixed and what wasn't. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 10:12, February 26, 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for the welcome and the info, and I'm sorry for the delayed reply. As I'm sure you've noticed, there's no notification for responses on other users' talk pages, so I'll be sure to be better at following up on talk page responses so I don't miss them going forward.
Can you tell me a bit more of what you'd like to see as options in the source editor? And which source editor are you using (per Special:Preferences under editing), "VisualEditor - source mode" or regular "Source editor", and is the "editing toolbar" checked? I have a preference for the VisualEditor - source mode with the editing toolbar enabled, I like the options better, if that helps.
I also miss the link to see the page again so I could open it in a new tab while working on a page, I used to use it all the time. I'll see if we can get something changed to help with that. And thanks for the link to UCP issues forum post, I'll skim it, but can you let me know if there are any outstanding issues that you'd particularly like to get fixed?
Speaking of which, I wanted to make sure you saw that Fandom is currently in the middle of a two-week bug-smashing project, which you can read about in this Staff blog post, and you can see some of the work we've done in today's blog Bug Smashing Week 1 Roundup. If there are any particular UCP bugs that have been particularly annoying, please let me know and I can ensure they are properly ticketed so they'll get reviewed.

Portable infobox design

Hi there, so i was wondering if you can make the portable infobox design for the wiki? Ivan the Brony Kaiju (t - b - c) 12:01, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Character category script

Do you know where i could find it? Ivan the Brony Kaiju (t - b - c) 11:51, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

You mean the one that works when uploading images? You can find it in MediaWiki:Common.js, search for "Automatically add categories on Special:Upload". It's pretty specialized for this wiki, though. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 11:30, March 14, 2021 (UTC)
There is a problem here.png
Okay, then why didn't i see a character category here when i was uploading an image on the Indonesian wiki? Ivan the Brony Kaiju (t - b - c) 12:29, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
It worked for me just now. Maybe you needed to wait for your browser cache to update. Also, there is an issue causing the <p> tag to be added in episode categories, that's a bug I'll have to fix sometime. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 07:42, March 17, 2021 (UTC)
Nvm, i already fixed it. Ivan the Brony Kaiju (t - b - c) 11:22, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello, i have the link image pop-up JavaScript MediaWiki page on the Indonesian version, but it does not have an image pop-up when i touched the link. How can i fix this? Ivan the Brony Kaiju (t - b - c) 11:22, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

FandomDesktop

Hey again, I'm reaching out to community admin to gather feedback regarding the upcoming change to the desktop skin, called FandomDesktop, to help our team address any early concerns before we get to rollout and testing. Check out this staff blog if you haven't yet, and let me know your thoughts?

Some notable portions:

  • Light and Dark modes - A wiki can basically have two theme options, and users can pick their preference.
  • Fluid width - The content area can be expanded, and the right rail can also be collapsed, for a wider article page.
  • Global navigation - Instead of being on the top as it is now, it will be placed as a narrow bar on the left.
  • Local top navigation - This will now scroll with you as you move down the page, so you don't have to scroll back to the top to access the wiki's main navigate.
  • Header - Backgrounds are basically being replaced with a wide top header image.

Some pretty big changes coming up. So if you have any thoughts or feedback or concerns, either good and bad, please let me know!

Sounds like it'll improve a lot of things I've found clunky about the interface. Good to see some moves forward. With the switch to a header instead of background image and other changes, I'm hoping existing wikis (some of which predate Oasis and weren't even updated for that) will still look okay and keep some theming without having to put time into the design. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 09:36, April 10, 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback. Ideally most of the existing theming will transfer to the new skin with the update. There will also be a testing period before the wiki needs to switch to the new skin, to work out any issues ahead of time, and I will be available to help with that. – KylaraE  (talk) 17:18, 11 April 2021 (UTC)

Hey again! I'm making my rounds to keep everyone updated about FandomDesktop, which is coming this summer. I've made a forum post with about it with informative links and highlights.

And while I'm here, The Downstream is a new live-event happening this Friday, if you'd like to check it out.

Let me know how things are going around here and if you have any questions!
